arkel
Lightsworn is very similar to Tele-DAD in that, in the majority of scenarios that the deck can produce, a good player will know exactly what to do, which will consistantly be the same choice for any good LS player. However, LS can't win like Tele-DAD did due to the luck of mill. Any card has the same chance of being milled as it has of sitting on the bottom of the deck for the whole duel and never being drawn. The only difference between these two is that a milled Mirror Force, for example, can be retrieved by Mask of Darkness or a similar card.

Exiro
Lightsworn is very similar to Tele-DAD in that' date=' in the majority of scenarios that the deck can produce, a good player will know exactly what to do, which will consistantly be the same choice for any good LS player.[/quote'] It is true that certain moves are in almost any case good moves, like opening with Lumina + Garoth, but that doesn't mean that only these moves are good, nor does it mean that they're the best moves. This game is a bit more complicated than that. However' date=' LS can't win like Tele-DAD did due to the luck of mill. Any card has the same chance of being milled as it has of sitting on the bottom of the deck for the whole duel and never being drawn. The only difference between these two is that a milled Mirror Force, for example, can be retrieved by Mask of Darkness or a similar card.[/quote'] The milling effects aren't completely necessary. They are to be seen as additional bonuses where luck just happens to be a factor that decides how much you can profit from this bonus. The main reason why Tele-DAD has won Shonen Jumps and Worlds is because of the splashability of DAD compared to JD. However, this has nothing to do with whether a LS deck requires skill or not. BehindTheMask
The main reason why Tele-DAD has won Shonen Jumps and Worlds is Tele-DaD has not won a World Champion event. Gladiator Beasts won last year(2008) and Blackwings won this year. Also, Lightsworn is a "sack deck" because it mills off cards and increases the Lightsworn players knowledge of what remains in the deck. Being able to access the grave with cards like "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner" and "Beckoning Light" make it the best Reverse Toolbox in the game. The variety of Lightsworn monsters also help the deck. They have revival in the form of Lumina. Swarm in the form of Wulf. Destruction in the form of Ryko, Lyla, and Celestia. They can stop defensive players with Ehren. Draw power in the form of Garoth. Finally, they have Aurkus, which stops targeting effects. Having access to cards like "Necro Gardna" and "Plaguespreader Zombie" while not hurting the deck gives it an even bigger edge over other decks, because it essentially gives the Lightsworn player "free cards." Lightsworns also have their own searcher card, which helps them not only search out a card, but also fuels their own effects. They have their own "Boss" monster in the form of "Judgment Dragon", which can end games. Also, take into consideration "Honest" and how it helps them over come a lot by battle. They can also reuse "Honest" and other monsters by flipping "Beckoning Light" and they can even do this in the battle phase "Beckoning Light" can also get rid of your bad hands too. Are they unbeatable? No.Are they an auto pilot deck? No. You just gotta be smart while playing, and make reads, which is what you should be doing anyway. Lazer Yoshi
They're pretty good, but there's a few problems.1: You can Deck out pretty easily if you can't win soon enough.2: Prepare for your wallet to be empty.

Xazeon
I really don't feel like spending all my money on a child's card game, so I just go to my Local's commons bin and buy rare cards for 25 cents. Yes, the commons bin does have rares.
Mister Sir
Blackwings are better. Ok, I've put up with this far enough. I'm sure you love Blackwings, and that's perfectly alright, and you're a decent player, which is fine. But stop injecting Blackwings into almost every TCG/Your Deck topic that would have ANY connection to them at all. This discussion is about LIGHTSWORNS, not Blackwings. So please discuss Lightsworns instead of rambling about how Blackwings are better. OT: BTM pretty much summed it all up.

C.F.Yuji
I find LS overpowered, ESPECIALLY JD, And I say it's a bad deck type, As a stall deck could kill a LS deck when played right, just wait for your opponent to run out of cards. Then you win.

C.F.Yuji
lol, It can, On TF3 (Tag Force 3) I was using a LS Deck throughout story mode, I faced a guy called Bawnji who uses a King of the Skull Servants deck, He continually had monsters out on the field, and I ran out of a deck as soon as I cleared his field. OmegaWave
To all who say LS is overpowered: USUCK Lightsworn is no where near OPed. It takes a duelist with skill to handle LS right. Otherwise, you'd just be milling your deck to oblivion. On WC2009 Wi-fi, I took on a Lightsworn build with a generic Warrior Deck. The strongest monster in it was Gearfried the Swordmaster.....and there we no Synchros. I won with 10000LP. So case and point. LS is only as powerful as the duelist using the deck. Same goes with almost every other deck type out there.

Same goes with almost every other deck type out there.[/quote'] The situation you've presented shows one thing and one thing only, and it does not accurately state that LS aren't sacky and auto-pilot. When deciding the skill of a deck, you have no choice but to assume that the deck is being used by a good duelist. By your logic, Tele-DAD was not OPed in its format because not all Tele-DAD duelists were good. When discussions about a certain decktype are made, we discuss how the members and support cards of that decktype make the strategy good or bad. Also by your logic, Neo-Spacians have a chance to be top tier if used by a good duelist. Plus, stating that "Lightsworn is no where near OPed" further proves of your ignorance at this game. They have destruction, revival, drawing, searching, protection, swarm, and a field nuke. The field nuke alone, in the form of JD, is beyond banworthy and gave the archetype of LS its position on the tier list. Therefore, my good sir, the only thing you've showed us is that you have no idea what the bloody hell you're talking about.
