If this card is face-up on the field, you cannot use it for a Synchro Summon. If this card is in your Graveyard, you can remove from play this card plus 1 non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon 1 "Blackwing " Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck whose Level equal the total Levels of the removed monsters. The effect(s) of that Synchro Monster is negated.

 

Can someone explain to me why people are going crazy over this card? To me it's one of the worse Blackwings to date. His only use is pulling him out with Shura and synching for a Castator or a Magical Android.

First off' date=' almost noone uses Shura in a good Vayu build, and even then that isn't a bad combo, definatly not the best, but not bad.

 

The major strength of Vayu is that it can pile out beatsticks, even when they have very few cards in hand, and keep putting pressure on until you run out of answers. They gain strength against Synchro-Cat because, instead of keeping their key cards in the hand or on the field, where X-Saber Airbellum or Arcanite Magician respectively make them a liability, they can put them in the graveyard, and allow them to bounce back from a big combo. Their ability to easily play and abuse Necro Gardna and DDV also helped that matchup.

 

With the new list, they're bigger than everything Lightsworn plays apart from JD, Honest is useless against free monsters and DDV eliminates Lumina. That means that LS have to drop JD and hope that the Vayu player doesn't have a Gale to go with the locked and loaded Blackwing Synchro in their graveyard or general out such as Smashing Ground. That's if Necro Gardna doesn't deck them out, of course.

 

The main strength to a Vayu deck is speed and grave control. With the new ban list' date=' DAD will become popular in the decks as it is very easy to only have 3 monsters in the grave, and with the mained BfaDD it gives you a bunch of destruction. With the free synchros, DDV becomes a big play both to ditch monsters to the grave for later synchros, but also to get rid of pesky Honests, Kaluts, and other <=1500 monsters that annoy the crap out of players.

Alright, that helps me to see his usefulness a bit. That's what I get for speaking with people who were going to just throw him into their Bird Flu deck all willy-nilly.

 

I knew something was wrong. He needs to be put in a deck that revolves around utilizing his ability to be useful. Thanks man.

Um, what? Shure searches out Vayu with his effect and can search out any other Black Wng if Whirlwind is out. So, unless a Vayu build runs that much differently from normal BW, I don't see why Shura wouldn't be used.

 

On Topic: It can give you a free beatstick. It's main use being that it can summon Lone Silver Wind with ease since it gets around the 2 non-tuners thing.

Um, what? Shure searches out Vayu with his effect and can search out any other Black Wing if Whirlwind is out. So, unless a Vayu build runs that much differently from normal BW, I don't see why Shura wouldn't be used.

Um, Vayu builds are much different than standard BWs as they should not run Whirlwinds as it actually slows the deck down. In general, Shura is not used in favor of other cards that actually help with the purpose of the deck, told in the 2 quotes in my last post.

omg, this card is horrendiously overrated!

 

1 its a carush target, owait no its not anymore, therfore drawing int othis is now terible unless you run grepher

 

2. if you want to get AM out you have to run elphin, and thats terrible

the sheer amount of dedication this deck needs for this card to be wholly effective its mental!

the shura combo with this card is the only decent one, as when you get a sorroco in grave later you can sync into an armed wing, however its much easier to just use blizzard, as there is more lv4s in blackwings than there is lv5s

 

i can see how this could potentially work in ls, but the word potential is as far as it goes drawing into either blacking leaves for a huge dead draw, which is the absoloute last thing you want in lightsworn so again no!

 

using this in a norleras build is terrible also, not only does it not ftk as you need 2 turns to get norleras in grave plus enough vayus, and elphins (again running elphin) to otk unless your very lucky, the amound of dead cards youd be drawing is insane

 

so there you go, this card is GREAT if you tech 1 or 2 in standard blackwings, it makes as a nice replacement for gale, but thats it honestly!

I stopped right there as you do not run a Vayu build without Grepher. And even then, there are other ways to get it into the grave from the hand via: Hand Destruction, Card Destruction, DWD, etc. and if Grepher isn't run, those are.

 

Way to fail.

It doesn't matter if you can or can't OTK. Once you get of Norleras's effect your opponent has nothing while you have a card in hand and at least 1 synchro.
