Max Darkness

Recommended Posts

This card is for a contest, and I have to ask you if it has any chance of winning (or advancing).

card4.png

1 non-Tuner monster - 1 Dark Tuner monster.

In order to Special Summon this card, subtract the Level of a Dark Tuner monster from the Level of 1 other monster you control; the value must equal the Level of this card. This card is also treated as Zombie-type. If this card battles a Dragon-type monster, destroy the monster without applying damage calculation. When this card is destroyed, remove from play all Dragon-type monsters on your opponent's side of the field and in both player's Graveyards.

Why does anyone want effects on my cards.

Because Vanillas are boring.

@Max: My favorite pokemon are Hitmonchan and Jolteon. Do you want my opinions on your Pokemon list above? :)

Interesting pair. Go for it.

Unfortunately, I think there are just too many OCG errors. Here's the fix.

This card is also treated as a Zombie-Type monster. If this card battles a Dragon-Type monster, destroy the monster with this card's effect without applying damage calculation. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can remove this card and the monsters used as Dark Synchro Material Monsters from play to remove all Dragon-Type monsters your opponent controls and in both player's Graveyards from play.

okay then, is there anyone who can do this for me here?

yep! and can you make this poke splice a darker color of red for the fur and wing edges?

oh' date=' and also if you could have it standing on a rock with an awesome fiery background and firing a hadouken blast, (or just holding it in his hand or something) i would appreciate it very much.

I'm not splicing them. I'm raising them on Platinum. Like I said' date=' I needed something to do. And thanks, for that's eaten up a couple of hours. Plus, I now have a female Charizard on my Platinum version.

I've managed to get all of the original 4.

[b']Charizard (Lizardon) . Female . Mild . Blaze . Flamethrower, Air Slash, Dragon Pulse, Rock Slide

Flygon (Tarragon) . Male . Adamant . Levitate . Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, ThunderPunch

Feraligatr (Maelstrom) . Male . Lonely . Torrent . Waterfall, Ice Punch, Brick Break, Shadow Claw

Tyranitar (Despot) . Male . Brave . Sand Stream . Rock Slide, Crunch, Aerial Ace, Brick Break

@ Ursus, I don't think I do. I'll check.

Charizard is always bit of an odd choice for a sweeper, but its a nice surprise, because people usually expect a "Belly-zard" (Belly Drum/Substitute/with Salac Berry and Blaze). He should get a few KO's with that element of surprise. You picked the right nature, and that Charizard has a lot of type coverage. It just needs a little more speed. :)

Flygon is a overlooked Pokemon, when compared to Salamence and Garchomp. But, Levitate is a great bonus to have, and your movepool is very diverse. You have a good nature for it, but some Special moves would be nice.

Feraligatr is one of my favorite Pokemon of the Metal Generation! ;) It's great! I'd go with the Adamant nature for it though. Once again, diverse movepool, as it covers a lot of Types.

Tyranitar is a favorite as well. :) Sand Stream can get annoying, but Tyranitar is a beast, plain and simple. Diverse movepool and good Nature.

One thing I noticed, is that all your Pokemon have only attacking moves. It's good to have a mix, IMO. :)
Charizard's defence is pretty poor to be honest, so taking a turn to power it up is risky; especially if your opponent is someone like Lucario knowing Rock Slide or Stone Edge (4x damage)...so why not go for all out offense?

Flygon is the poor man's pseudo-legendary; pretty powerful but still easily crushable by the 5. And although Flygon's Sp. Atk is quite high, an Adamant nature slows it; making all-Physical the best combo.

Feraligatr is probably the best Water starter, after Empoleon. Lonely still powers up Attack; so it's not the worst.

Tyranitar revels in Sandstorms, increasing it's base stats to 650; so it gets closer in stats to the Weather/Dragon Trios than the Pseudos. Also, it is focussed purely on Attack (134 of it) so defensive moves make little sense on a high-Attack, high-Defense Pokemon. (Also, its ability means it cannot be beaten by traditional FEAR tactics.)

Most Pokemon can be split into all-Physical (Machamp) or all-Special (Gardevoir) attackers. Those few that have balanced attacking prowess are not used as often as they could be since they generally have low overall stats or small movepools (save Lucario, Electivire, Magmortar, Persian and Raichu).

Another problem is a lot of Pokemon's 'second' attack stat (ie the lower one) is just too low to be truly useful. Charizard's Attack for example only just makes the cut for a high-power physical move, but Aerial Ace is too weak not to be replaced with Air Slash.

It is true that if you face me, I will be on a relentless offense, since I see moves such as Rock Polish etc. as a waste of time (since Rock-Types are notoriously slow).

Most of my Pokemon know only attacking, debilitating (mostly Toxic or Thunder Wave) or recovery moves since you'll need to recover after spending a turn not doing damage.

Also, if you can pound your opponent into the ground and have them continuously on the defensive or at least fighting at a disadvantage; you will most likely win.

For example, at a recent tournament, I beat someone with a Toxic Shuckle with continuous Dragon Pulses and Flamethrowers from my Rayquaza and Giratina. That's a beat-down strategy.

I have a lot of attacking strategies because everyone I played with when Pokemon started used similar strategies, due to the lack of abilities, held items, weather and almost 70% of the current movepool. It was strike or be struck.
Lapras : Surf, Ice Beam, Confuse Ray (The best status move), Strength

Raichu : Thunderbolt, Body Slam, Swift, Thunder Wave

Exeggutor : Mega Drain, Solarbeam, Psychic, Explosion

Arcanine : Flamethrower, Dig, Double-Edge, Hyper Beam

Gengar : Thunderbolt, Mega Drain, Night Shade, Psychic

Dragonite : Wing Attack, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Dragon Rage

See what I mean?

I guess I never saw the advantage of a manipulation strategy. I won the Battle Tower with some change to my strategy since Cresselia was just so annoying; so I broke out Arcan and let it succum to poison. But the rest was brute force.

(On the subject of the Battle Tower, how many legendaries did you encounter when you went through it?)
