R.I.P. Monster Reborn

After that' date=' he was brutally murdered by none other than Konami, the bastards who had censored him in the first place....

Damn, where did I put the Phoenix Down?

On Topic: CotH is way balanced than Monster Reborn. It just appears on the field, and ka-blam! you get a monster from any graveyard! (and kazuki created it in the first YGO manga so that Yugi could summon BEWD, fun fact?) And I believe konami did a mistake by bringing monster reborn back. It should've remained in the forbidden's, next to Change of Heart and Dian Keto the Fat Naked Woman.

There is no reason to hate CotH's unbanning, except the unbanning of Breaker.

But it's better that Premature Burial.

I lol'd

Brionac/Abyss Soldier/Dewloren/[insert any card with an easy return effect here] is magic with Call of the Haunted. Revive Sengna, return Call of the Haunted, Sengan is destroyed -> Search for a new monster.

Reborn is a spell so it can turn the game around if you revive a big monster. Call is a trap so you shoudl wait 1 turn and your opponent can just destroy it.

Reborn also gives every deck acces to tuners.

In that situation, the problem is Sangan, not the revival card or the bouncing card.

White CotH has its advantages over Monster Reborn, they are usually irrelevant with all the generic destruction going around and Card of Safe Return being banned. CotH also had many disadvantages when compared to MR. Also, if all 3 of the main generic revival cards are banned, the makers of the game will probably just make another one, maybe a Monster reborn that only works on your Graveyard, and at a cost.

CtOH + jinzo + brionac/giant trunade = reuse

to explain this

use CtOH to bring back jinzo. Jinzo negates CtOHs destruction effect when left the field. play brionac's effect or giant trunade CtOH is back in your hand and jinzo is still on the field so it can be reused after jinzo takes his leave.

or CotH could be used with in Fane BWs to bring back Sirocco' date=' use effect, then Swallow's Nest it/Sacrifice for another Sirocco, then possibly another Swallow's Nest for game

That could be done with Monster Reborn too. That could be done with almost every (if not every) generic revival card.

Okay, I could think of 4 monsters that can use this bounce CotH loop effectively. There could be more of course. Using Sangan or Botanical Girl in this loop doesn't provide any real advantage except deck thinning if you use Brionac to return CotH. Granted, using Jinzo in this loop could be potentially dangerous, but the combo isn't necessarily banworthy.
