Generic Revival & Spell and Trap Recovery

This topic is about two simple things: generic revival and generic s/t recovery.

 

Both of them are useful things to have, but when they're as broken as most of our current options for generic revival, you get complaints. As for recovery of spells and traps, most decent options to get them back after use are either banned or should be.

 

If it is even possible to have balanced, usable, generic cards that do one of the above, what would they look like?

I just amended my post to say usable.

 

Either way' date=' MoF was banned for unknown reasons, giving little in the way of actual options. That said, the trap version of it was left unbanned. Wierd... That said, I agree on the design comment.

The reasons are hardly unknown. Mask of Darkness doesn't fetch most of the most troublesome cards that Magician of Faith does, and isn't supported by Apprentice Magician. Also, combining Flip Effects with Trap Cards produces just about the slowest effect in the game that doesn't have an explicit time lag like Zone Eater or D.D. Capsule.
