Chapter 4 “Regain family honour! Mary vs Sidd.”

Leo knocked on Susie`s door. “Susie, come one, sis, let me in.” “Go away, I don’t want to talk to you.” Leo leaned against the door. “Listen, sis, I know that you have been trying to contact me and even tried to get into the academy, but you know that was virtually impossible.” There was no answer. “Susie, please open that door. Come on, sis. I know you have missed me and I want to make up for it, but you have to let me in then.” The door opened and Leo saw Susie lying on bed. He stepped in the room.

“Susie, I am sorry. I really am, but when I got accepted in this academy, I was so excited and wanted to get in there that soon, I completely forgot about you.” Susie still did not move. “Susie, please, you have to believe me.” Susie sat up and looked at Leo. Then she moved and hugged her big brother. “I know you better then anyone, Leo. I should have known better then how things turned out now.” Leo nodded. Then Susie suddenly got scared.

“What, Susie? What is wrong?” Susie signalled to his back and Leo turned around seeing Armed Dragon in spiritform. “You can see my duel-spirit?” Susie nodded. Then Leo noticed a small monster on Susie`s shoulder. “You never told me you had one too.” “I have him since you left. He has been a real friend to me, always watching over me, especially through duels.” Leo nodded. “This is my Tetran Magnet (1200/1000).” Leo nodded and the smaller magnet-like monster became somewhat bigger. “He looks good, Susie.” Susie nodded and smiled, hugging her big brother.

Their mother and father were still in the living room together together with Carrie and her brother. “Do you think everything will be alright?” The father nodded. “I am positive.” Leo and Susie entered the room. “I guess they made it up.” Leo nodded. They sat down and chatted with their parents, when suddenly Leo`s cellphone goes of. “Yeah?” After a short break, Leo looked up. “What? I am on my way.” Susie stood up with Leo. “What`s wrong, Leo?” “My friends need my help.” Susie nodded. “I am going with you.” Leo hesitated, but when his mother nodded, he nodded. “Okey, let`s go. Get your dueldisc, we might need it.”

At Mary`s place…… (20 minutes before the phone-call to Leo)

Mary was happy, she was home again. She stood in front of the giant gate of her house, but then noticed that a party was going on. “It must be a party because I have returned.” A suited man appeared at the other side of the fence. “Excuse me, but is there something I can do for you?” Mary looked up at that comment. “What, I use to live here. I am Mary.” The suited man hesitated and then took out a phone. “Excuse me sir. Someone called Mary is here at the gate.” After a short break the suited man nodded. “Yes sir.” He opened the gate. “You can come in, madame.” Mary thanked him and entered the familiar garden.

“So, the stocks are raising with 10% so my fortune is getting bigger and bigger,” a man told another man in another part of the garden, “and all this is going to be pumped into getting elected.” “Dad?” The brown-haired man turned around. Mary was standing in front of him. “Hello, Mary.” And then he turned around chatting further. A woman came to her. “Excuse me, but master Sidd has requested that you are being moved to your room. He does not want you to be here.” Mary looked up. “What?! Sidd Vandergild has become a master here. I live here remember?” The woman shook her head. “I am sorry, madame, but you no longer have anything to say here.” Two suits appeared at her side and grabbed Mary, taking her with them.

She was dragged into a room, where a chair turned around. In it was Sidd Vandergild. “Hello Mary.” Mary walked closer to him. He had a cold stare in his eyes. “What are you doing here, Sidd? This used to be my room.” “Exactly, Mary. Used to be! You virtually no longer exist in this house. You are being banished from our family. You have no more ties to this family whatsoever.” Mary shook her head. “This is my family, my room and I live here.” “Not anymore. You can stay here until you found new lodgings, then you move out never to be seen again here.” Mary shook her head. “No.” “Oh, I am afraid you have no choise. Your parents won’t help you. We are sameminded. You do not belong here.” He clapped with his hands and two suits came in. “Escort mrs. Mary to her room please.” The suits nodded and grabbed Mary again.

In her room, she sat down on her familiar bed. She looked around. She guessed all her stuff was packed into boxes. She took out one box and saw her books and everything. She heard a knock and saw a second door located on her left. “Come in.” The door opened and Mary found herself hugged by two very familiar people. Her niece Shelly and her brother Steven. “We were afraid we would never see you again.” Mary petted her brother and her niece on the head. “What the heck is going on?”

“Okey, so if I am right, Sidd has taken over management over the company and he has put our father out of commission so he could move freely.” Steven nodded. “And he came living in here, just as friends and changed things around here. However what he did not know, was that when you and I live here, the company is not legally from him.” Mary nodded. “That`s why he tried to keep me out of here and unnoticed.” Steven nodded. Another knock on the door and Mary opened it. It was the butler. “Misses Mary! Am I glad you are here!” “Charles?! I am glad to see you too.”

“Are you here to save the family and the company?” Mary did not know what to answer. “Please, miss Mary. Your father only listens to Sidd nowadays.” Mary nodded and saw Steven and Shelly smiling to her. “Okey, I think it is time to start to rebel against Sidd. The only thing I think that can save our family and company is to show him he is not the greatest.” “How are you going to do that?” “Simple, the only way is to best him in a duel!” Mary took her deck from her belt. “I haven’t been called “Raging Wind-Duellist” for nothing. But let`s first call in some additional help.”

Sidd Vandergild was talking to Mr. McFlinn of McFlinn Corp, the largest gaming corporation next to KaibaCorp and Industrial Illusions. “So when I am able to buy 15% of your stocks in Zoosh Corp, I will have enough to buy out the smaller companies.” Mr. McFlinn looked at Sidd with a disgusting look. “You want to use my stocks in order to buy out smaller companies?” Sidd nodded. “I don’t think so. Remember, Vandergild, I can buy your companie with ease.” Sidd nodded. “I am not really impressed with threats, McFlinn.” “What was that about that the two children of Mr. Zoosh were both back on the grounds? That makes them the owners of Zoosh Corp, Vandergild.” Sidd smiled. “They are not on the grounds, Mr. McFlinn, trust me.” “Oh really, who is that then?” Sidd turned around.

“Didn’t expect me, did you Sidd?” Mary stood at the terrass. Sidd motioned to the suits who moved in. At that moment a dragon flew past. “Don’t even think about it, ugly face.” Leo and Susie appeared at the gates. “You tried to take over our company, but you couldn’t. That was because Steven was still there. You tried to get rid of him by sending him to an university in New York, so you would be able to, but that was going to happen in three months.” Sidd nodded. “Untill you showed up, everything went as planned.” Mary shook her head. “Not everything. You see, with setting aside my father, you gave the ownership to Steven and eventually me too. You made sure Steven would leave, so he would be forced to give his share to you, however you did not take into account that I would become an owner as well. Now you can proof that you are worthy to lead it legally by defeating the last owner of Zoosh Corp.” Sidd looked up. Mary showed him her dueldisc. “That`s right, Sidd, I meant by a duel!”

Sidd took a dueldisc from his vault. “So be it. Let`s duel.” Mr. McFlinn turned around and was surrounded by his personal bodyguard. “That`s how I love to settle things. By duel.” With those words he drove away in his limousine.

Mary – 4000

Sidd – 4000

“Let me kick of things.” Mary drew a card. “I play Summon Cloud, sending one card from my hand to my graveyard to special summon one Cloudian – Sheep Cloud (0/0) in defencemode. Since I still can normal summon, I normally summon another Cloudian – Sheep Cloud (0/0) in defencemode. Now I set two cards facedown and let you have a go.”

Sidd drew and smiled. “I play Dual Summon and first summon Spear Dragon (1900/0) in attackmode!” The blue-white dragon appeared. “Now I can do another normal summon and summon Berserk Gorilla (2000/1000) in attackmode. Now Spear Dragon attack her left Cloudian – Sheep Cloud!” The cloud was destroyed but two token`s took his place. “Fine, but you still get a blow of 1900 lifepoints (2100). Plus my Berserk Gorilla can destroy your other Sheep Cloud!” The other Sheep Cloud was destroyed as well and two more token`s took it`s place.

Mary – 2100

Mary shook her head. “You really should not underestimate my clouds.” Sidd took a card from his hand and inserted it into his dueldisc. “I equip my Berserk Gorilla with Belly Drum, raising it`s attack by 200 and I end my turn.”

Mary draws a card. “I tribute all of my Sheep Cloud Token`s in order to summon my Cloudian – Nimbusman (1000/1000).” “What is so special that you put it into attackmode.” “Well for instance I can put 4 fog-counters on it, because I tributed four WATER-attribute monsters in order to summon it. And for each fog-counter it gains 500 attackpoints!” Nimbusman`s attack raised to 3000! “Now Nimbusman destroy his Berserk Gorilla!” Sidd`s lifepoints dropped to 3200.

Sidd – 3200

“I was not finished. I play the spellcard Quick Summon, allowing me to normal summon another monster. So come forward my Cloudian – Rain Cloud (500/500). This cloud allows me to draw a card and put one fog counter on any monster I want at the cost of 500 lifepoints (1700). So I put one on your Spear-Dragon and now I end my turn.”

Mary – 1700

‘Why did she not just put another fog-counter on Nimbusman? That would have made it almost impossible to defeat. She must be up to something.’ He drew a card. “Hold it, Sidd. I play the trapcard Bad Luck Cloud.” “What does it do?” “You’ll see, Sidd. You are used to keeping everybody in the dark so I will do the same with you.” Damned, Sid thought, she got me. He put Spear-Dragon back into attackmode. “I destroy your Rain Cloud with my Spear-Dragon!” Mary`s lifepoints dropped to 300.

Mary – 300

“Very good, Sidd. However now the effect of my Bad Luck Cloud activates and I can destroy your Spear-Dragon and deal half of his attackpoints to you as damage!” Sid`s lifepoints dropped to 2250.

Sidd – 2250

“Okey, I play Cost Down, which means it lowers the level of any monster by 2 levelstars, allowing me to summon Jinzo (2400/1500)” Bad Luck Cloud was destroyed. “Well, thanks for activating it`s effect. I should have paid 1000 lifepoints in order to keep it on the field, but I can’t so it is gone.” Sidd inserted one more card in his dueldisc. “I equip Jinzo with Amplifier raising his attack by 500 to 2900.” He held up his last card. “I play fissure in order to destroy your Nimbusman!” The cloud was destroyed. “I end my turn.”

Mary draws her next card. “Very well done, Sidd. However this is coming to an end.” Sidd looked up. “How? You have nothing to strike with.” Mary held up a card. Susie looked to Leo. “What`s happening?” “If I am correct, she is winning this duel.” Mary smiled as she called out, “Big Summon Cloud.” She discarded her hand and her lifepoints dropped to 150.

Mary – 150

“So what? That is a spellcard.” “Not just a spellcard, Sidd.” Sidd looked to Leo who spoke to him. “It forces her to discard her entire hand and pay half of her lifepoints, but then again she can bring out any Cloudian she wants.” The air started to roar and from the clouds a huge cloud appeared. “Meet my pall, Cloudian – Eye of the Typhoon (3000/1000)!” It lowered itself on the field. “Now Eye of the Typhoon, attack with Typhoon Tornado!” Jinzo was destroyed and Sidd`s lifepoints dropped to 2150.

Sidd – 2150

“So what? My next turn will devastate you!” Mary shook her head. She nodded to her facedown card. “What?!” It flipped up. “Card of Sanctity!” They both drew until they had 6 cards. “I have one more spellcard. Go Typhonic Power Surge. This spell allows me to tribute my Eye of the Typhoon and deal half of his attackpoints as damage to you! (650). However that is not all. With removing one card from my graveyard from play, I can activate the spell again and tribute a monster from my hand called Cloudian – Airistra (1400/1000) and deal 700 lifepoints of damage to you!”

Sidd – 0

Mary deactivated her dueldisc. “I never expected you to win, Sidd. Your search for power and wanting to win made you blind for the fact that I was destined to win.” She turned around and the suits did not approach her. “You are hereby fired, Sidd.” The suits took Sidd and kicked him out of the yard.

“Father, I hereby give you the command over our company again.” Her father nodded and Leo hugged her. “I want you to leave, Mary. I know now that I should never have trusted Sidd, but I am not ready to have you back in my life. You are no longer welcome here. You have your friends, so get a new life.” Mary nodded, not crying but her brother was and so was her niece. “We do not want you to leave, Mary.” Mary kneeled besides them. “I will return, guys. I promise.” They nodded and she turned to Leo and Susie. “I am done here, let`s go.” Leo nodded and they walked out of the yard and the gate.

“That was an awesome duel, Mary.” Mary looked at Susie. “So you must be Susie, the sister Leo was talking about so much.” Susie nodded and they shook hands. “Hey, guys. Wait for me.” Leonard showed up. “Hey, I am sorry I was late. I guess you won.” Mary nodded. “Let`s go to my house.” Mary and Leonard nodded at Leo`s remark and they set of. “What are we planning to do?” Susie looked up at the remark. “Well I heard there was going to be a new tournament around here. It was called something. Oh yeah. The Neo-G Tournament.”
