Outer Suburbs of Domino City. Granger Household. 8:00 AM

 

"Scott."

 

16 year old Scott Matthews rolled out of bed, grumbling... "Hmmmm, What?"

 

"Get up now mister, the start of your school year commences. Hurry up."

 

"I'm up, Ma." Scott rolls out of bed, lands on the floor in a heap and proceeds to swipe the sleep out of his eyes as he replies to his mum's statement. "Just taking a shower, will be down in a few moments." Scott get's up slowly, grabbing a pair of black jeans, and headed off to the bathroom to take a shower.

 

Granger Household. Dinning Room/Kitchen Area. 8:20 AM

 

"Well, Well. Look who finally decided to get up. Come on Scott. This is the biggest day of my life. Let alone our lives. You and me have our Entrance Exams today and I don't want to be late." Shouted a girl aged around 15, with Light Brown Hair, wearing a long blue skirt, white top, and a Gold Topaz Sash around her waist.

 

"Good Morning Sis!" replied Scott as he walked into the kitchen wearing a pair of black jeans and a white sleeveless T-Shirt. "Ready for school. Remember to just trust in your cards, They are your friends." Scott sat down at the table and poured himself a bowl of cereal. "Also Sis, remember that it doesn't matter if you win or lose, what matter's is that you have fun."

 

"Thank's Scott, for the advice. It is really....." She stopped talking and just stared at the doorway of the kitchen where a boy aged around 17 years old was standing.

 

The boy smirked. "Huh. You guys don't stand a chance at Duel Academy." He crosses his arms and looks over at Scott. "Hey, Scott with an attitude like that you will never make it in to Ra Yellow, let alone Obelisk Blue. You and Shae over their better watch what you do at the academy." The boy pulled a deck of cards out of his pocket and started going through them. He stopped for a second, smilled and then looked over at Scott. "That is, if you even get in."

 

"Daniel, I just do my best, as does Shae. To me that is all that matter's. I don't care if you are the King of Duel Academy, because one day in the near future you and I will duel. I may not win but I will be a match for you." Smiled Scott proudly.

 

"Fine, What ever. Have fun at the entrance exams. See you round Snot Faces." With that Daniel turned around and headed out the door as he left to head out.

 

What a prick, One of these day's I'm going to show him how worked up I can be. Man I should just give him a gadget sandwich. thought Scott. "What is with him. I hate that guy at time's, even though he is my brother." Scott asked aloud.

 

"You know how he get's. Shall we go, it is about time. You got your deck prepared." asked Shae with a huge frown on her face, as she looked over her own deck.

 

"Yeh, I have it well prepared. Let's go." Scott replied as he walked towards the door, stopping at the lounge room and grabbing 2 Duel Disks. In 1 swift motion he tossed 1 to Shae, loaded the other 1 on his Left Wrist and placed his Deck on the Duel Disk.

 

"Thank's" Shae replied, placing her deck inside the duel disk, which was on her Left Wrist as well. "Let's go."

 

Scott and Shae ran out the door and started running off to the Entrance Exams.

 

Duel Academy Domino City Regional Office Building, New Domino City 9:00 AM

 

Scott burst in through the glass doors with a thunderous blow, "Well, let's sign up over their SIS!" as he pointed over at the Sign Up table.

 

"Ok." Shae pulled herself over to the Sign Up table and signed herself up. "It, says here that my Duel ain't until 10:30 so I got time to sit and go through my deck."

 

"Yeh well I'm excited because my Duel is against the Obelisk Blue dorm leader and it is up at 9:25 AM." Scott smilled proudly, "Wish me luck sister." Scott walked off to the Duel Arena to get ready for his Entrance Exam.

 

I hope he does alright, If he uses his card's right I believe it will be awesome."

 

Duel Academy Domino City Regional Office Building, Dueling Arena. New Domino City 9:23 AM

 

Inside the Duel Monsters Arena, spectators were cheering wildly as the first duel's were just about to start. Scott was standing their waiting for his chance to fight, His duel Disk was activated and he was just waiting for his opponent to appear.

 

At that moment, a Duel Instructor appeared and headed for the steps ascending up to the platform. This person was clad in a dark brown suit, complete with a matching tie. His white hair was somewhat untamed, but it seemed to fit with the mischievous smirk on his lips.

 

Suddenly, in the middle of the arena emerged a huge holographic coin. “Let’s have a coin toss to decide who goes first,” The Duel Instructor offered. “Heads or tails?”

 

“Tails!” Scott replied.

 

As if on cue, the coin flipped itself into the air, spinning numerous times. Both duelists watched it with growing impatience. Finally, the coin landed face-up…and it was Tails.

 

“Looks like I won that toss. Sorry about that, but I’ll just have to go first.” Scott drew his first five cards, as did the Duel Instructor. Then Scott drew an extra card for his first turn. Looking at his hand, he gave a loud laugh. "Alright, get your game on."

 

“All right, now!” he announced. “First, I’ll summon Red Gadget (ATK 1300 DEF 1500) in Attack Mode!” And as he played his first card, a little Red Gadget appeared on his field ready to deliever.

 

"But that is not all, when Red Gadget is Normal Summoned I can add 1 Yellow Gadget to my hand, from my Deck. Which I think I will do." With that he pulled his deck out and thumbed through it before pulling out the Yellow Gadget and adding t to his hand.

 

The duel instructor looked over at him, "Are you done yet,"

 

"Not a chance man, I'm just getting started. Ok next I will set 2 facedown cards," and he placed the two cards onto the Duel-Disk. The holographic projection showed the images of the two cards. “That’s all for now.”

 

"Ok, I draw." He pulled a card from the top of his deck and placed in his hand. Next He pulled 2 cards from his hand. "Alright, I summon X-Saber Anu Piraanha (ATK 1800 DEF 1300) in ATK position!" On the field a female warrior dressed in Red Armor appeared wielding twin swords.

 

"But that ain't all, I have some really cool plans right now. Next I activate the spell card Double Summon which allows me to Normal Summon 1 more monster this turn. And I will choose the tuner monster X-Saber Palomlo (ATK 200 DEF 300) in ATK position!" On the field a light shone bright and then after it stopped their appeared a little green reptile wielding a green staff.

 

"Hey, cool a Tuner Monster. That is awesome man." Scott smiled as he saw the reptile tuner monster on the field. "Ohh though, it is really weak."

 

"Yes but it won't be on the field for long as I tune my 2 monster's together to form X-Saber Wayne (ATK 2100 DEF 400) in ATK position!" The duel instructor and Scott looked on as X-Saber Palomlo and X-Saber Anu Piraanha ran into each other. After the dust around them settled their appeared a tall man wielding what looked to be a gun with a blade on it.

 

"Hey that's cool ma." Scott commented as he looked at the opponent's side of the field.

 

The duel instructor smirked as he heard Scott comment, "Yeh, and it has a really cool effect. For when X-Saber Wayne is Synchro Summoned, I can special summon 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from my hand. So I will special summon the all powerfull X-Saber Galahad (ATK 1800 DEF 800) in ATK position!" On the field appeared a yellow toad with green armor on, and holding a Yellow Stave in one hand.

 

"Alright, now my monster's, It is time to ATK. First thing's first. X-Saber Wayne attack Red Gadget, X-Slash." X-Saber Wayne charged at the Red Gadget with his weapon charged to the max.

 

"Stop, I activate Sakuretsu Armor to destroy your attacking monster." On the field Red Gadget was suddenly placed under some spiky armor which destroyed X-Saber Wayne and negated the attack.

 

On the opposite side of the field, the Duel Instructor looked on as his card was destroyed. "Ohh, well X-Saber Galahad activate your effect. For you see when Galahad attacks one of your monster's he gain's 300 ATK. X-Saber Galahad (ATK 2100)." The duel instructor looked over at Scott, "Now attack and destroy his his Red Gadget, Galad Strike."

 

On the field the Red Gadget was destroyed by X-Saber Galahad, the force of the attack blew Red Gadget into Scott causing Scott's LP to drain to 3200.

 

The Duel Instructor smilled, "With that, I'll end my turn."

Up in the crowd at that moment, Daniel Granger was standing, watching this match. Hmm, let's see you get out of this, you little prick.

"Fine, my turn. Draw." Scott drew a card and placed it into his hand. Ok, time to finish this, the card I just drew can work with my face down. I hope this work. "Alright, I'll activate my face down Trap Card 'Ultimate Offering'. I'm sure you know what this card does, but for those who don't, I'll give a recap. I can pay 500 life points to normal summon 1 extra monster to my side of the field each turn."

 

"Alright, Next I summon my Yellow Gadget (ATK 1200 DEF 1200) in ATK position!" On the field appeared a Yellow Gadget in a fighting stance. "Next, his effect activates, allowing me to add Green Gadget to my hand." Scott took Green Gadget out of his deck and added it to his hand.

 

"Alright, next I will pay 500 Life Points to Normal Summon Green Gadget (ATK 1400 DEF 800) in ATK position!" As Scott's Life Points dropped to 2700, on the field, next to the Yellow Gadget appeared a Green Gadget in a fighting stance. "His effect, like the Yellow Gadget allows me to add 1 gadget to my hand, and that card is my 2nd Red Gadget." Scott again added 1 card to his hand, from his Deck.

 

"Last, but not least I will pay another 500 Life Point's to normal summon a tuner monster of my own. That monster is Tune Gadget (ATK 1300 DEF 1200) and I will summon him in face up ATK position!" On the field appeared a white gadget wielding a rod of gold, even as Scott's Life Points dropped down to 2200.

 

On the other side of the arena, the Duel Instructor looked over at Scott and smiled, "Nice set up you have their, but you ain't got a monster that can stand up to mine."

 

"That may be so, so if you want to fight then let me show you my ultimate gadget master, Gadget Overlord. Now Green Gadget + Yellow Gadget, tune yourselves with Tune Gadget to Synchro Summon 'Gadget Overlord (ATK 2000 DEF 2000) in ATK position." On the field, Yellow Gadget, Green Gadget and Tune Gadget disappeared and then a light flashed. When the light died down, their appeared a giant Gadget wielding a big 2 handed sword with a gold hilt.

 

"Damn, nice monster but you still can't beat me this turn, your monster ain't strong enough to defeat my monster and my life point's." The duel instructor smirked.

 

"Think again, you see my monster as a couple of effects. Depending on which Gadget monster's I used as Synchro Material monsters for the Synchro Summoning of this card, this card get's an effect. Take for example Green gadget. When I use that card for the Synchro summoning of this monster, this card gain's 1500 ATK, placing him at 3500."

 

Scott then pulled a card from his hand. "Next, I activate monster reborn from my hand. This card allows me to special summon 1 monster from my Graveyard, and I'll select Tune Gadget (ATK 1300 DEF 1200) in ATK! position." As Scott played the card onto his duel disk a portal appeared on the field and out of it appeared a white gadget wielding a rod of gold.

 

"An effect which didn't activate before when Tune Gadget was on the field is this, While Tune Gadget is face-up on the field, all Gadget monsters increase their ATK by 400 points." A mystic force emitted from Tune Gadget's Staff and shone out over Gadget Overlord increasing his ATK to 3900, while also increasing the ATK of Tune Gadget to 1600.

 

"Hmm, not bad."

 

Scott then pulled 1 of the remaining 2 cards in his hand, and played it onto the field. "I play the spell card Gadget Summon." As he played the card, a white mist grew over his deck. "At the cost of 2000 Life Points, putting me at 200, still enough to beat you, I can special summon 1 Gadget monster from my Hand, Deck or Graveyard."

 

Scott then grabbed his deck, "I think the card will come from my Deck and it will be my second Tune Gadget in ATK position." On the field, appeared a white gadget wielding a rod of gold.

 

"Now his effect activates increasing the ATK of all Gadget monsters by 400 points." A mystic force emitted from Tune Gadget's Staff and shone out over Gadget Overlord increasing his ATK to 4300, while also increasing the ATK of the first Tune Gadget to 2000. The newest Tune Gadget increased it's ATK to 2000 as well, benefiting from his own effect as well as the effect of the first Tune Gadget.

 

"Hey, now that is what I call a good set up, mister. Well done. But it will not be able to defeat me."

 

"Oh, Yeh. All Gadget monsters can ATK directly this turn. Now go Gadget Overlord attack directly for the win. 2-Handed Gadget Driver." With that the Gadget Overlord grabbed his Sword and swung it around before stabbing it into the ground delivering a sharp electric shock into the Duel Instructor, reducing his Life Points to 0.

 

"Yeh, FTW!" Scott jumped up with his fist in the air.

 

The duel instructor picked himself up and then looked over at Scott. "Well done, young man. Congratulations on earning a spot here at Duel Academy."

 

"You mean I got in," the Eager Scott replied excited at the prospect, "Allright what dorm am I in?"

 

"Slipher Red"

 

"What, ohh well. It just means I have to work my way up to get into Ra Yellow or Obelisk Blue."

Shae Granger was sitting up in the stands, smilling proudly as her brother made it into Slipher Red. Alright, Well done brother, but I don't know if I can repeat that performance. Wish me luck bro.

 

Shae got up and moved down to the Arena for her match.

Down at the arena, Scott was walking off as the crowd cheered him on. Damn, I only made it to Slipher Red, but it was 1 hell of a match.

 

Scott turned the corner, even as at that moment Shae Granger was getting ready to start her match up.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter 2]

Up in the crowd, Scott was walking around tring to find a seat to watch some duels. He sat down and looked down at the field, to catch the end of what looked to be a fierce battle. Hmm, what a match this is, Looks like the Duel Instructor has had a better game then the one we had.

 

On the giant scoreboard above the arena, the stats showed themselves clearly: Duel Instructor was in the lead with an untouched 4000 life points. On his side of the field were Sabersaurus (ATK 1900 DEF 500) and Saber Beetle (ATK 2400, DEF 600) , both in Attack Mode, and no cards in his hand or on the field. On the other side of the field, The competitor had 1300 life points; on his field were two cards face-down in his magic/trap slot, and he also had Blade Warrior (ATK 1900 DEF 0) in Attack Mode and 2 Monsters in face down Defence Position, as well as having four cards in his hand.

 

The Competitor took his turn and drew a card, adding it to his hand. “Now, then,” he announced, “I Summon my favorite card, Blade Captain (ATK 1400 DEF 1300) in attack mode!” On the field appeared a knight wielding a sword and shield in a fighting stance.

 

The Duel instructor laughed. “And just what is that supposed to do?”

 

"Watch and learn, when Blade Captain is normal summoned I can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster with "Blade" in their name from your hand. Now the monster I select is Blade Ninja, (ATK 1200 DEF 1200) also in Attack position.

 

On the field their appeared a Black Ninja wielding a short blade, in a fighting Ninja stance. "Alright, now I activate the spell card Double Summon to Gemini summon my Blade Ninja." As the competitor played his card, The Ninja's ATK grew to 2400.

 

"Hey, what was that. Why'd it do that."

 

"That is the effect of my card, when it is summoned a second time, It's ATK grows to 2400. Double it's original ATK of 1200. Pretty Sweet ha."

 

"Yeh, but you still can't destroy my Saber Beetle."

 

The Competitor looked over at his opponent's side of the field, "Watch me. Now, I flip summon my Blade Scout (ATK 1000 DEF 1000)." On the field one of his face down monsters flipped face up, revealing a Scout pointing a short Dagger around. "When my Blade Scout is Flip Summoned Successfully, I can place 1 "Blade Counter" on one face up Warrior-Type monster with "Blade" in their name. And I select Blade Ninja." At that moment a Counter appeared around Blade Ninja's body.

 

"Ok what does it do, Young One."

 

"A "Blade Counter" increases a Monster's ATK by 300. That gives my Ninja the power to destroy your Saber Beetle. So what do you say to that." All at once Blade Ninja's ATK grew to 2700.

 

"Anything else."

 

"Yes, actually. I flip summon my 2nd face down Blade Scout (ATK 1000 DEF 1000) as well. And I will give the token to Blade Warrior increasing his ATK to 2200." On the field appeared a 2nd Scout pointing a short Dagger around. Then, as soon as he was summoned Blade Warrior's attack was increased to 2200, when a Blade Counter appeared floating around him.

 

Finally, my Blade Captain has an effect. I can discard a card from my hand, to place 1 "Blade Counter" on 1 face up monster on the field. So I select my Blade Captain to receive the token, increasing his ATK to 1700." As he discarded a card from his hand to the Graveyard, On the field Blade Captain had a 300 point increase to his ATK points as counter surrounded him.

 

"Nice army, continue."

 

"Thanks, I will. Alright, Blade Ninja attack his Saber Beetle." Blade Ninja span around and then disappeared before landing on top of Saber Beetle and crushing him. The Duel Instructor's life points dropped to 3700.

 

"Next, Blade Warrior attack his Sabersaurus." Blade Warrior picked up his sword and charged at Sabersaurus and struck a huge blow destroying him. The Duel Instructor's life points dropped to 3400.

 

"Alright, now my 2 Blade Scouts attack his life points directly." On the field the 2 scouts ran and swipped at the Duel Instructor with their daggers, dropping his life points to 1400. "Finally, my Blade Captain will attack you directly with Captains Surge, go now.."

 

Blade Captain grabbed his sword and charged at the Duel Instructor, and slashed high with ferocious power eliminating the last of the Duel Instructor's life points.

 

"That's game, match and set." Oh Yeh.

Up in the crowd, Scott Granger watched in amazement of the power of those Blade Warriors. Damn, what power that kid has. I wonder what other power he has. I got to face him someday.

On the other side of the arena, Daniel Granger was talking to a kid about 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket, and a big spot of bright yellow hair, leaning against a wall facing the arena. "So, what was it like, up at the ranch over the summer break."

 

The yellow haired guy just smilled before answering, "The same,"

 

"Is that so....."

 

"Hey ain't that your sister about to duel, down their."

 

"Yeh, and I wonder who they decided would take care of her, today."

 

"It looks as if it may be the Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm Leader in the fight."

 

"Well this just get's better and better. I hope she makes it actually,"

 

"Why, I thought you hated her and Scott."

 

"Yeh, but if both of them make it, It will be fun to kick their ass. Any way I want to get a closer view of the action, I want to see her squirm. You coming."

 

"Na, you go."

 

"If you say so, This is going to be good." Daniel moved off down towards the arena to get a better point of view.

Down at the arena, Shae Granger had walked out readying her duel disk, Damn it, I'm so fidgety. Bring yourself together girl. Come on, trust in the cards and I should do well. She turned to run up the steps when she ran into the same boy from the duel before.

 

"Hey, sorry miss. My fault. I'm just happy. That is the first time I have actually won a duel. Hey, sorry. Hi, my names Blake, what's yours my young friend." Blake extended his hand out for Shae to take.

 

Shae took the hand and shook it, "The name's Shae and I'm late for my duel so if you don't mind letting me get to the arena on time."

 

"No problem, young lassy. Their you go, I might catch up with you later and I wish you luck in your match." Shae watched as Blake walked away,

 

What a lovely day to meet such a fine fellow, Ohh. Stop it, focus. You have a duel. Don't want to disappoint my brothers. Shae stepped up to the duel arena.

 

On the opposite side of the arena stood the Duel Instructor, clad in a dark brown suit, complete with a matching tie. His black hair was somewhat spiky, and he had a really smug looking smile on his lips. "Miss, I am your opponent today, so get your disk ready as we get started. As the challenger, you may go first."

 

"Ok, then. Lets go!" Shae drew a card from her hand as the field screen showed 4000 life points to each player.

 

"Alright, I set 1 monster face down," On the field a face down monster, "I end my turn."

 

As the Duel Instructor drew his opening card he commented, "Ammauter, Watch and learn." He looked over his hand, before pulling 1 card from it. "I summon X-Head Cannon (ATK 1800, DEF 1500) in Attack Mode!"

 

A robot with two cannon barrels on each shoulder appeared on the field, floating above the ground. "Alright X-Head Cannon attack her face down monster!" And it did just that – firing a mighty blast from its cannons, slicing through the face down monster tearing it to bits, reveling the Mystic Shine Ball.

 

As Shae drew her next card she looked at it and smilled as she added it to her hand. "Alright. I activate the spell card Pot of Greed to draw another 2 cards," Shae drew another 2 cards, and placed them in her hand. She then selected 1 of them, "I summon Agent of Creation - Venus (ATK 1600 DEF 0) in attack position." A yellow-robed spirit appeared on the field.

 

"I see you use the fairy's. Do you see the light in them, worth it."

 

"Yes, I do. And you see, I like them because of their really cool effects. Just like this 1. My Agent of Creation - Venus effect states by paying 500 life points, I can special summon 1 Mystical Shine Ball (ATK 500 DEF 500) to my side of the field. So I think I will pay 1000 life points to summon 2 of them, from my deck in face up defense position." As Shae's life points dropped to 3000, on the field 2 balls of light appeared in defense position on Shae's side of the field.

 

"Last, I activate the field spell, The Sanctuary in the Sky." Suddenly a stone castle, embedded in a huge hunk of rock, materialized on the field, hovering over everything else. "Finally, I end my turn,"

 

"Alright, my turn. I draw." The duel instructor drew a card.

 

"I summon Y-Dragon Head (ATK 1500, DEF 1600) to the field!” A moment later a robotic red dragon appeared on the field.

 

“Now, Y-Dragon Head, activate your Union ability! Equip yourself to X-Head Cannon!”

 

"Huh, what is a union monster." Shae asked even as she watched a panel on the Y-Dragon Head’s back open up, allowing the X-Head Cannon to seat itself comfortably within.

 

“Allow me to explain,” said the Duel Instructor. “There are certain Effect monsters in Duel Monsters that are known as Union monsters.” He indicated the X-Head Cannon and Y-Dragon Head. “Y-Dragon Head is a Union monster that can only be equipped to X-Head Cannon, and by doing this it is increasing X-Head Cannon’s ATK and DEF by 400 points!”

 

On the field, X-Head Cannon's ATK rose to 2200.

 

"Alright, X-Head Cannon attack his Agent of Creation - Venus," It did just that, firing a huge blast from it's cannons destroying it. But much to the amazement of the Duel Instructor, Shae's life points remained the same. "Hey shouldn't your life points have dropped."

 

"Na, thanks to the effect of my Sanctuary in the Sky card, I lose no life points when a fairy type monster is destroyed in battle."

 

"Hmm, well next turn then. Your turn."

 

"Ok," Shae drew a card and placed it in her hand, "I end my turn, with a facedown card." As Shae ended her turn, she placed 1 card on the field, which appeared in the arena.

 

"Again with the amauter moves." Drawing a card, he pulled another 1 out and played onto the field. "Mystical Space Typhoon, which destroys 1 spell or trap card on the field, so I select the Sanctuarry in the Sky card." Shae's Sanctuarry in the Sky card were destroyed when a huge tornado came across the field, and slammed in to the Sanctuarry in the Sky destroying it.

 

"Next, I summon Armed Dragon LV3 (ATK 1200 DEF 900) in attack position!." On the field appeared a yellow dragon with silver armour around it's body.

 

"Next, I activate Y-Dragon Head's second ability, to disengage from X-Head Cannon and return to the field as a monster in it's self." Y-Dragon Head disengaged itself from the bottom of X-Head Cannon and swooped over to his side of the field. The screen showed the stats of the 2 monsters for all to see. Y-Dragon Head (ATK 1500, DEF 1600), X-Head Cannon (ATK 1800, DEF 1500) both in attack mode.

 

"Armed Dragon LV3 attack 1 of his Mystical Shine Ball's" Armed Dragon reared it's head and then swiftly ran at the Mystical Shine Ball and decimated it quickly.

 

"Allright, Y-Dragon Head attack his other Mystical Shine Ball." The Y-Dragon Head lifted up off the ground and then swooped down at thee defenceless Mystical Shine Ball crushing it.

 

"Now, your life points are open, for the taking, X-Head Cannon blast her." X-Head Cannon charged up and the shot a full load out of his cannons sending it flying over the arena to where it connects with Shae, droping her life points to 1200.

 

"Alright. My turn. I Draw." Shae drew a card, before declaring, "I end my turn with a facedown, Your turn."

 

"That it," The Duel Instructor replied pulling a card from his deck and adding it to his hand. All of a sudden, his Armed Dragon started glowing.

 

Shae looked shocked, "What is happening."

 

"It is the effect of my Armed Dragon LV3, by sending him to the graveyard during my standby phase, I can special summon Armed Dragon LV5 (ATK 2400 DEF 1700) in attack position!" The Armed Dragon grew changing into a big red dragon with silver armour plates.

 

Now I have this card on the field, I would like to show you my next Machine as well, for I summon Z-Metal Tank (ATK 1300 DEF 1500) in attack position as well," On the field materiallsied a huge yellow tank.

 

"Oh, damn, nice army you got their. What else you got."

 

"This, X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank form to create XYZ-Dragon Cannon (ATK 2800 DEF 2800)," The X-Head Cannon, the Y-Dragon Head and the Z-Metal Tank, came together to form a huge Dragon Cannon raring to go.

 

"Now, I activate it's effect. By discarding 1 card from my hand, I can destroy 1 card on the field, and I pick your face down card on the left." Here he discarded a card and then on the field the Dragon Cannon shot a bolt of blue lightning into the face down card on the left of Shae, destroying it.

 

"Alright, now that is out of the way. I activate the spell card Limiter Removal to double the attack of my Dragon Cannon." On the field XYZ-Dragon Cannon's ATK sharply rose to 5600. "Now, XYZ-Dragon Cannon blast her for the victory and send her to the graveyard."

 

The cannons on the back of the Dragon Cannon, fired an intense blast directly at Shae, who stood their stunned.

Up in the crowd, Scott was on the edge of his seat watching and thinking, Come on sis! I hope the trap card you set, is going to help you.

 

On the other side of the arena, Daniel Granger was watching as well, Hmm, what can you do. He is my mentor and he did teach me everything I knew so I know what it is like to face his ferousious style of fighting.

 

Just off to the side, near Daniel, Blake was standing, wishing Shae luck. I hope you make it ot the school, I would like to get to know you more, I do you you can come back here.

"sheet no, Not that."

 

On the field the blast from the Dragon Cannon was launched into a huge cylinder which sprung up, which then flew out the other end straight back towards the Duel Instructor. The Duel Instructor braced himself, before the damage hit causing his Life Points to drop to 0.

 

"Hey, nice duel."

 

"Thanks and well played yourself Mr..Uh,"

 

"Mr. Princeton, Chazz Princeton."

 

"Wait, you mean that I just beat the Great Chazz Princeton, in a duel.... No way, I got to tell Scott. Well I got to go, thanks for the Duel and I'll see you around, Mr. Princeton." Shae ran off as the crowd continued giving her a cheer, for a good duel.

Later that Day, outside the Arena

 

"Hey Scott, what dorm did you get in?" Shae asked.

 

Scott smilled and then tugged at his new Red Blazer he was wearing. "Slipher Red, the coolest of the Dorms. How bout you,"

 

"Slipher Red, same as you."

 

"That's awesome, Hey did you happen to see the Duel before you had yours, It was so cool. In 1 turn the challenger wiped out every single life point the Instructor had."

 

"Na, do you know the name of the Duelist,"

 

"Yeh, Blake Striker. I want to meet him so I can duel him and face his Blade Warriors."

 

Blake ha, Yeh I met him but you don't need to worry about him right now. Worry about the start of a new year. "Sounds good," Blake is quite a nice fellow.

 

"Shall we go home?"

 

"Yeh, lets go." Both Shae and Scott ran off down the road back home, even as the arena grew distant in the background.

I agree with Mystery Guest, it is a good idea. I like how you put in the location & time before the paragraph. Personally, I wouldn't use the accutal time, just saying it was in the morning, late-afternoon, etc. that way you could put a feel of the area.

 

For example: "The night was dimly lit by the full moon, as So & So walked to the dorm."

 

But that's just me. Anyway you just need to put detail in the surroundings, fix some misspells and grammer issues and you'll be on your way. I look forward to new chapters.

Appearance: Black Hair, A black version of the coat or w/e Zane wore, Dark pants and shirt.

Personality: He is able to formulate stratigies easily, while still showing no expression. He has a very calm dueling style. He does not get excited or angry very often in duels, sort of like Zane. However, he is agressive in duels, much like Chazz, however, he is not blind like Chazz in situations. He is quiet around people he does not know, making it very hard to get to know him. However, if you do get to know him, he can be a great friend. He is especially nice to people he loves.

 

Bio: His father is a high ranking employee of Kiaba Corp. His mother raised him mostly on her own because of this. Teased by other kids because he was "rich" (Wich he was not), he slowly withdrew himself from the outside world, eventually becoming the quiet, unemotional person he is now. He only shows his emotions to those who he trusts, and loves. He eventually found his way to the game of Yugioh. He excelled, and became a rising star. All throughout his entire Grade School yugioh schooling, he has always been at the top of the class.

Since many of the characters in my fan-fics use made-up archetypes, I can't offer the same support. I could suggest some deck types that should be used at some point:

- Mill deck (deck focused on destroying the opponent's deck. It often gets used against the main character. The main character usually goes down to 0 cards in their deck, but still wins)

- A deck based on any of the instant win conditions, the most popular ones being Final Countdown and Exodia.

- A burn deck

- A lockdown deck

- A deck whose entire strategy is based on just one card

Those are the ones I could think up on the spot. Those are just some ideas for you.

There have recently been loads of fun archetypes.

Frogs, Morphtronics, Blackwings,...they work fairly simple, unlike some older Deck strategies.

 

I don't like Frogs, but Morphatrnics and Blackwings are cool.
