I played the one for the GC. It wasn't really scary unless your sanity meter was all whacked out and the lights in your room were turned off. I swear - I tripped when I thought that the TV turned itself off and when the volume muted itself. (Some of the other freakouts made me laugh a little). Other than that, the game wasn't overall scary...

@Aethercide - The game wasn't meant to be like the other survival horrors. It was meant to play on natural fear of the supernatural and to play off the average person. There have been rumors about cameras being able to capture the supernatural in photos, so that's where the concept came from. Seeing the faces of the ghosts that you're fighting can really get to you if you do it long enough. The bosses are also pretty wow. Fatal Frame is also far more difficult than Silent Hill and Resident Evil (since your character doesn't get those weapons to fight with). It's just not for everybody - it's more of an acquired taste. [but then again, that's just me]

@Saturn

Yeah ' date='I agree,..most of my frames love it..I find it dull, it really depends on the person.

And I have to admit the bossess were actually kind of great..not my taste but still liked them.

@Aethercide - There was a reoccuring theme with all the final bosses of Fatal Frame, though - they all had an instant death attack (and they were invincible while they were doing it).

I liked the fact that you didn't have to play the first 2 games to enjoy the third game, but it helped if you did.

@Aragondom - Yes - RE: The Darkside Chronicles. It takes place during the events of RE2 and RE:Code Veronica (and it a 'sequel' to the Umbrella Chronicles)
