Welcome, to Roleplaying 1 on 1's. You may ask - why has he posted it in the Fan-Fiction forum? Bluntly, because you're not allowed competitions in the Roleplay forum as far as I'm aware. If you are, I'm sure Dealer Umbra or a similar Mod will move this.

 

Now, what is a 'Roleplaying 1 on 1' you ask? Well, it's as the name states; a 1 on 1 through a roleplay. A person challenges another person to an RP-off. Basically, you'll be given a 'hypothetical roleplay' for your challenge, with a topic and area where you are. You will make a post from said area; be it an intro, somewhat in the middle or an ending to a roleplay - and the rest of the members will vote for the intro they prefer. Currently, I'm going to only host three challenges at a time where everyone will vote.

 

You can only challenge others on the Member List. Now, to join, just post stating you want to join. You can then challenge anyone on the list; if they accept, when you are both online, you'll be given your topic and a specified amount of time to write your post. Then, you'll both post your posts and then everyone else can vote. So, yay.

Eric Carnivus was sitting on a mountain edge, looking over the Amazon-looking jungles, sharpening a dagger with a rock he picked up from the ground. His black, long hair fluttered in the breeze, covering his dark, blue eyes. His skin was tanned and healthy, and he wore a black leather jacket tattered with a few plates of iron on the shoulders and chest for possible impact reduction. His black jeans had the same iron tattering on the knees and feet, where he wore black boots. On his side was a giant gun-lance, which dagger he was sharpening. “So damn boring…” he muttered, his voice slightly raspy and dry because of the weather changes. “Where is that damn Super Saiyan, or whatever…” he stood up, and took his gun-lance on his shoulders, resting it with ease. “Looks like I have to go for a walk…” he leaped down on the cliff-side, landing on a small plateau that stuck out, and leaped to another one with ease, never losing balance with his gun-lance. “Heh…child’s game…” he chuckled, and continued his descent with grace and speed. Sometimes, he maybe slipped a bit, but regained footing rather quickly, and continued on down. As he was at the bottom, he stepped on something that felt like……scales. “Uh-oh…not good.” He said, before a thrashing movement below him and a roar caused him to fall off, and land on his back. He grunted loudly, and slowly got up, brushing off eventual dirt from his leather jacket, and took up his lance again. He looked at the thing that had thrown him off, and smirked with a grin only comparable to the Devil himself. “Hello there……Rajang.”

 

Two blood-red eyes gleamed at him, looking like pits to hell and back. The giant creature lumbered forwards, snapping trees on the ground in half with its massive, four-fingered feet, and walked up to Eric, roaring and slobbering. Its massive mane was gleaming golden in the early sun, and the black-brown scaled indicated this one was a healthy one, indeed. He would make this Rajang an excellent trophy on his wall. Across its back and sides, golden fur gleamed in tiger-like stripes, making the beast look extraordinarily magnificent. Its tail, roughly half as long as the Rajang’s body, was tipped with a brush golden fur. It raised its head, and bellowed a primitive roar of rage, apparently annoyed that Eric used him as an oversized carpet. Eric just smirked. “You’re a noisy fella, but can ya fight, jabroni?!” he shouted, and spun his gun-lance 180 degrees before aiming it at Rajang’s head, firing a shot, its shell covered in some kind of ice particles, hitting the beads dead-on between the eyes. IT bellowed another roar, this time in annoyance, and swiped its tail at Eric. Eric smirked, and jumped up on the beast’s tail, running up on its back, firing shots as he ran. The beast was now the one to smirk, and suddenly, its fur glowed a bit, releasing electric shocks on possibly 500 volts through Eric’s body. He roared in agony, before Rajang shook its body, sending Eric up in the air, and bashed him away with its tail, sending Eric into a mountain wall, almost breaking his spine in the progress. He just groaned, and got up, staggering a bit. “OH, YOU WANNA PLAY THAT WAY, HUH?!?!” he shouted, and reloaded his gun-lance with an extra-strong shell. “This oughta blow the fucka’s brain out…” he muttered, but suddenly noticed the Rajang shake in a weird way. “WHAT’YA SHAKIN’ ‘BOUT?!” he shouted, but then, the Rajang unleashed several beams of electricity straight at Eric. “sheet!!!” he shouted, and dodged the best he could, but one of the beams hit his leg, and he was paralyzed. “funk!” he shouted, and Rajang smirked. He walked closer to Eric. “W-WHAT?!!? NO!! NO, GOD NO!!! OH funk!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-………………………….” Soon, all that was heard was the snapping of muscles and the crushing of bones, as the Rajang’s powerful jaws and teeth made a quick meal of the noisy, inexperienced hunter. He pitied this one, really. He was…too overconfident. He bellowed another roar, this one of victory and satisfaction of a meal. Smirking, the beast turned around, and walked into a cave, resting for the night, hoping to feast on another hunter tomorrow.[/align]

I'm a bit confused. Essentially, if I understood things correctly: We make a post stating we want to join, then enter the list. Once we are on the list, we may challenge someone else [who is on the list]. Once a challenge is issued and accepted, you [snitch] sends us a topic / area in which we are supposed to Roleplay. Upon receiving that, each of us is required to write an RP based on that topic / area. There are no restrictions as far as the nature of our Roleplay and characters used are concerned, as long as they adhere with the outline provided. As soon as the two RPs are posted, voting starts, and the one with the most votes after a specified period of time wins.

 

Is this correct?

 

At any rate, I'd like a position in that list. Please clarify the exact mechanics of challenging someone. Is it done via PMs, or in this thread?

 

Anyway, between the two RPs that have been posted, Snitch' is superior by a fair margin, so he gets my vote.

The war rages on. Elf and Werewolf, locked in a titan's grip against each other, continuing what has bound Agalenthia in a merciless slaughter for years. But slowly, something is ending the fight. A single child - it is unknown how he did it, but this single child stopped the fighting. Just that child.

 

Ten years later, the war is beginning to pick up once more. The boy, now eleven, is praised and is pushed forward to stop the war. However, a single Elf and a single Werewolf have been dispatched to find this boy and use him for their armies' own personal gain. Who will reach them first?

 

Ixigo - You will make an intro post as the Werewolf.

MT - You will make an intro post as the Elf.

I'm fine with it (though I'd rather get the Elf than the Werewolf). Just one question, though. This:

Obviously means that we will be RPing as the specified character. If it was an actual Roleplay, then the Werewolf would be my character. However, does that restrict us in any way in using NPCs as part of the Roleplay? Considering the nature of the task, are we allowed to use the other competitor's character? [obviously, we'd be using our own 'version' of each character, since the information given leaves a lot of room for freedom as far as design is concerned]

 

EDIT: And just due to the above post, I suggest that, for fairness' sake, we PM our RPs to you and when both are submitted, you post them at the same time >_>. Nah, I don't mind either way. It sounds logical, though.

 

By the way, when is the deadline?
