Guest Star
Yugioh Card Maker Fan-Fic Christmas Special Opening Theme Deity Mitsu and his friend Mikhail were sitting on a bench, looking at their cards, and revising their decks. It was snowing out, and there was snow on the ground and the buildings too. It was Christmas Eve, and people were shopping to get some presents for Christmas that they hadn’t gotten yet, or whatever. Some kids were having Snowball Fights, and others were dueling. Those that weren’t dueling were talking, or getting ready for Christmas. “Mikhail, are you excited to see what presents you get?”“Of course! I am hoping to get some new cards and maybe a new Duel Disk. What about you?”“I really like Christmas. The whole “Christmas Feeling” is great. My parents probably bought me a lot of cards. Maybe I can get some new cards that will help out my Deck. We are having a Christmas Dinner tomorrow, and that should be fun also.”“So is my family. Tomorrow is going to be great.”“Your right.” Deity and Mikhail noticed a kid opening a pack of cards. He looked at the cards, and then placed them in his pocket. The kid dropped one card, not realizing it. Deity stood up and walked over to the kid. “You dropped one of your cards buddy.” The kid smiled. “Thank you. You can have this card, because you were kind enough to give it back to me. Most people would just take it and go. So thanks. Merry Christmas!”“Merry Christmas. Mikhail, that kid let me keep the card he dropped.”“That was nice of him.” Mikhail was surprised after looking at the card. “What’s wrong, Mikhail?”“It’s just that…, this card is incredibly rare. There aren’t many of these cards in the world.”“What is so awesome about the card? It only has 300 attack points.”“Look at the effect of the card.” Deity read the card’s effect, then looked at Mikhail. “This card would be amazing in my deck!”“I know. What a coincidence.” The problem was, Mikhail didn’t think it was a coincidence. “It’s getting late Deity, I am going to go home, alright?”“Sure. Merry Christmas! I will see you tomorrow.” Mikhail walked away from Deity, towards where he lived. Deity walked to his parent’s house, and opened the door. “Mom, Dad, I’m home.” His Mom ran up to him, and hugged him.“Hi Deity, how are you doing? Your mother and I have made a great dinner for tomorrow.”“That sounds great. I’m getting a lot better at dueling now Dad.”“Oh yeah? Let’s have a duel, you and I. Just for fun.”“Alright, that sounds good.”“Honey, he just got home. Don’t you think he should relax?”“I’m fine Mom, don’t worry.” Deity smiled at his Mom. “Son, you can go first.”“Ok.” Deity picked up six cards. “I summon Spear Dragon in attack mode. Then, I will play one card face-down. Your go, Dad. I think I may actually be able to defeat you Dad.”“You’ve gotten that good? I doubt it. We will find out then. I summon Fire Princess in attack mode! Now, I activate the Spell Card Trap Booster! By discarding a Fire Princess from my hand, I can play Solemn Wishes. I’m not done yet though, go, Monster Reborn! This card allows me to Special Summon a monster from either of our Graveyards, and I choose Fire Princess. Then I activate Card Of Demise, so I can draw four cards, and discard all cards in my hand in five turns. I drew four cards, and that means I gain 2000 Life Points. That’s not all though, because Fire Princess’ effect inflicts 500 points of damage to you each time my Life Points increase. I have two Fire Princess’ out, so that means you lose 4000 points. I win. So much for you being able to defeat me huh?” Deity’s dad laughed, and Deity smiled. He knew he couldn’t defeat his Dad yet, but he had wanted to try. “Deity, we are going to give you your present now.” They only got him one present? Deity was confused. “I know one present may not sound like a lot, but this present cost over 500 dollars.”“Are you kidding me?!” What could it be? Deity really wanted to know. His dad handed him the present. It was about the size of a card. There’s no way they spent 500 dollars on just one card. At least Deity thought so. He opened the present, and it was a card. The card was a Dragon, and it had 1200 attack points. Deity liked the card, but he didn’t understand how a card like this could cost so much money. “Thank you so much. This card goes well with my Deck.”“Yes, we know. I talked to your friend Mikhail, and he said this card would be very helpful to you. There are only 5 of that card in the whole world.”“No way! Really? That’s so awesome. I will treasure this card, and that is a promise.”“It’s nice to see the card means that much to you.” Now he understood why the card was so expensive, there weren’t a lot of them. Mikhail said that about the other card too. Deity opened the door, and walked outside. It was snowing still, and he liked to sit down and watch the snow. Deity was sitting outside, when his Dad walked outside. “Dad, you don’t know how much this card really means to me. I will cherish this card.”“I know how you feel. I too have a card that means a lot to me. When I first started dueling, my dad gave me a very nice, and rare card also. I would like you to have it.”“But Dad, you and Mom have done enough for me already. I feel bad because I haven’t gotten you a gift either.”“Your wrong.”“Huh?”“You gave me a gift when you left to go on your journey. By taking the path to becoming a pro duelist, you are carrying on my legacy. That means more to me than any gift ever could. Remember that Deity. Every day you continue to give me a gift. So, here is the card.” Deity smiled. What his Dad said was so inspiring. Then, his Dad handed him the card, stood up, and walked inside.Deity decided to go for a walk. There were a lot of people shopping, and he was hoping to find someone to duel. “Hey Kid, what’s that you got there?” A duelist, about the same age as him, walked up to Deity. He noticed that Deity was looking at a card. Deity didn’t want to risk anyone taking that card, since it was rare after all. “It’s just a card.”“I’m not stupid. That is a very rare card you have. I want it.”“I don’t care if the card is rare. This card was a gift, and no one will take it from me.”“Do you know who I am? I’m Derek Whaley, a rare card collector. There aren’t many cards that I don’t have. I am going to get your card too.”“If you think I am going to just give you this card, your wrong.”“Then I will duel you for it.” Deity didn’t know what to do. He hadn’t heard of Derek Whaley before, but he looked like a good duelist. Then he thought about how what his Dad said. “You gave me a gift when you left to go on your journey. By taking the path to becoming a pro duelist, you are carrying on my legacy. That means more to me than any gift ever could. Remember that Deity. Every day you continue to give me a gift.” If he was to carry on his Dad’s legacy, he couldn’t back down from a duel. He would win, because the card was priceless to him. “Ok. I enjoy dueling, and I duel for fun. Not this time though! You want to take something that means a lot to me, and I’m not going to let that happen.”“Your all talk kid, now shut up and lets duel.” Deity had added the cards he got today to his Deck. He was going to beat this kid, no matter what. “You go first kid.”“I summon Kaiser Sea Horse in attack mode! I will end my turn with a face-down card.”“My move then. I play one monster face-down and end my turn.”“I’m going to win. I won’t lose the card I got. Kaiser Sea Horse, attack his face-down card. Kaiser Strike!”“Thank you. My face-down card was Gravekeeper’s Spy. Because Gravekeeper’s Spy has 2000 defense points, and your weak Seahorse only has 1700, you lose 300 Life Points.” Deity’s Life Points: 3700Derek’s Life Points: 4000 “That’s not all. Gravekeeper’s Spy has a Special Ability. When he is flipped face-up, I can Special Summon any monster from my Deck that has Gravekeeper in it’s name, and has 2000 defense points or less. I will summon another Gravekeeper’s Spy.” Deity didn’t even get frustrated. He knew that if he tried his best, he could win the duel. Derek wouldn’t win because all he cared about was winning. He had no care for his cards. “Check this out! I activate Shield Crush! Now, I can destroy one of your Gravekeeper’s Spy. I end my turn.”“I am going to defeat you. By tributing Gravekeeper’s Spy, I can summon Raiza The Storm Monarch. When Raiza is summoned, one card on the field is returned to the owner’s hand. I choose your Kaiser Sea Horse. Now, Raiza, attack his Life Points directly!” Deity’s Life Points: 1300Derek’s Life Points: 4000 “I activate the Trap Card Dragon Rebound! I can discard Dragon type monster from my hand, and destroy one card on your side of the field. All you have is Raiza, so that’s what gets destroyed.”“Heh. I play one card face-down and end my turn.” Deity was going to win using the card his parents gave him. “My turn. Have a look at this monster! A kid gave it to me today, as a gift. This is one of the cards I will defeat you with! I summon Decoy Dragon. That’s all for me. Your move.”“A weak monster like that won’t do anything for you. I am going to win right now. I summon Elemental Hero Stratos. Thanks to Stratos’ effect, I can add Destiny Hero-Disk Commander to my hand from my Deck. You lose now, Elemental Hero Stratos, destroy his pitiful dragon!”“Sorry dude, not going to happen. For someone who collects rare cards, you should know about Decoy Dragon. When you attack him, I can Special Summon another Dragon type monster from my Graveyard, and you have to attack that instead.”“You don’t have any Dragon type monsters in your graveyard! Wait..”“Your wrong. When I activated Dragon Rebound, I discarded a Dragon to the Graveyard. Guess what one?”“Not..”“The card is Darkblaze Dragon! The card my parents gave me, and the one you want.”“That’s not good!”“I’m sure you know his effect! When he is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, Darkblaze Dragon gains 1200 attack points, and 1000 defense points.”“And my Stratos has to attack it!”“Your right. That’s not Darkblaze’s only effect though. When he destroys a monster in battle, you lose Life Points equal to the attack of the destroyed monster. That means you lose 2400.” Deity’s Life Points: 1300Derek’s Life Points: 1600 “I play two cards face-down, and end my turn.” Deity had used two of his new cards, and there was one left. It was the card that would win the duel for him. “Attack me! Go ahead.” Deity figured that Derek wanted him to attack so he could activate one of his face-down cards. “Sorry, not going to defeat me that easily. I will change my Decoy Dragon to defense mode, then set one card face-down and end my turn.”“That’s what I wanted you to do. Now I can win. I summon Card Trooper. I activate all three of my face-downs. They are all Metalmorph! I equip all three Metalmorphs to Card Trooper, increasing his attack points by 900 points, making them 1300. Now, Card Trooper attack Darkblaze Dragon. Thanks to Metalmorph, Card Trooper gains 1200 attack points. Because he is equipped with three, he actually gains 3600 attack points, making him 4900. I win this duel.” “Don’t think so. I play the other card my Dad gave me, Malevolent Catastrophe. Now, all Spell and Trap Cards on the field are destroyed, and Card Troopers attack is now 400. Darkblaze Dragon is now much stronger. Destroy Card Trooper. You lose 2400 Life Points, and the duel!” Deity’s Life Points: 1300Derek’s Life Points: 0 “I will get that card from you kid.” Mikhail walked up. “I don’t think so. He defeated you, so he keeps the card. That was the deal, now go home. It’s Christmas Eve. Deity, that was a great duel. You were impressive.”“Thanks for arriving when you did.”“I wanted to go for a walk, then I noticed you dueling, so I decided to check the duel out. I have to go now, Merry Christmas.”“Merry Christmas, Mikhail.” Deity smiled. He couldn’t wait to tell his Dad about the duel. rscrash
Cool. Perfect grammer and good story. The only thing I will say is that the Derek duel is a bit short, I can understand the dad duel, and his parents are a bit nicey nicey if you know what I mean? But other than that great! I'm not just saying that!
