A second look

Hey all, i know you guys are all probably tired of me by now, No bigs XP Anyway i was going through some of my older rares and junk and came across a few gems, well i think their gems, but you decide.

First Gem, Shift

ShiftPSV-EN-R.jpg

Now Its a trap, and its effect is okay, buts lets look closer. Lets just say you have 1200 LP, Your opponent has 900 LP. You control a face up treeborn, and a face up snipe hunter. You also have i face down S/T. You have no cards in your hand, and you know your opponent has a usless gadget in his hand already. He draws Brain control. He activates Brain control and targets your Snipe hunter, his life is now 100. You activate shift, and hands him Treeborn, well game over indeed correct? Or lets say your opponent Activates Cross out, and you have 2 face down monsters, a face down MOF which you need for your vortex to own the game, AND a D.D. scout plane (idk mabey you wanted to run Macro monarchs or something.) He targets your Mof, in your mind your thinking awe gee wilikers batman, but than your gamer mode kicks in and snaps those pansy ideas out of your head. *In the Mr. T voice* "You fool, i pity the fool who doesn't use a set shift when they got ones... fool!" And yeah victory for you. Okay lets move on to the next one.

Close but no cigar, i mean your defiantly not gonna choose this guy over cyber dragon, believe me, But lets just say in this crazy world Cyber dragon gets... Well... Limited? o.O *In the Charlie Brown voice* "Good Grief" Or if you dont have cber dragons, and your opponent uses A beat down deck that swarms uncontrollably, or most outrageous senario, your opponant has 4 goats, your field is open, and you just happen to have 3 FM in your hand. o.O *Mortal Combat guy* "Woopsies!" Anyway, its okay against swarm decks, but again, its no cyber dragon. Last one, and i promise ill leave you alone. XP

IN MY OPINION! Cant stress that enough, i think this card is better than demise! YES I SAID IT! its 2700 atk, it gets summoned THE EXACT SAME WAY PPL SUMMON DEMISE! and i simply roll a die X amount of times i want per turn with no cost. _-_ Only thing is i don't destroy spells or traps, BUT I DON'T LOOSE ANY LP EITHER! Fair Compromise IN MY OPINION! Okay discuss. Thanks for reading.

Shift is useable-7/10. I actually sideboard this card for my Fiend Deck. Ram people into Wall of Illusion-and he still has high DEF(1850), so there's a good chance he'll survive AND bounce. Also, for the record, main 1 End of Anubis in a Fiend Deck-even if it's Necrofear. You're not always gonna get out Necrofear(I run two-dunno about everybody else) and besides, it's easier to win when you cut off your opponent's cards. Necrofear is good, but it's just a permanent Change of Heart. EoA basically kills Zombie Decks and anything else that depends on the Graveyard. Run Gemini Imps, too. Those saved me quite a few times.

FM is ok-6/10. However, Cyber Dragon says "If you have NO monsters on the field". So, in some situations, FM can be better. But why would you run FM over Cyber Dragon? If he gets Limited, maybe, but other than that, I'd just run 3 Cyber Dragons.

Zorc I actually used(and I'm planning on using again)-8/10. You have a 5/6 chance of killing your opponent's monster and a 1/6 chance you get self-pwned(AKA suicide, although in this case it's not intentional)-those are still pretty good odds. It has nice stats and is rather easy to get out. You would run Demise over this, true, but most decks that use Demise base it around him-Zorc you can put in any Fiend or DARK deck with the right cards(Advanced Ritual Art, Contract With the Abyss, Ritual Raven, etc...). You can call it a poor man's Demise, but it's still a good card.

Just thought I'd point out that Zorc's effect can only be used once per turn, it's dodgy wording to the extreme ^^ The problem with these cards are:

Shift: People usually think, and with good reason, isn't negating better than shifting?

Fiend Megacyber: If you're in a position where this card would be deemed more useful than Cyber Dragon, you're a bit stuck, aren't you? :P

Zorc: He actually sees some play in Demise builds as his effect is neeearly as good, and makes a nice extra Ritual Monster for ARA.

Ah... The Fiend Megacyber. Just when you thought Ojama Trio couldn't be more playable, you find this. Ojamas are some of the best (Ojamagic in a Ojamasnipe, Ojama Trio in lots of things, Ojama Delta Huricane!! in a DDT, all of their field controling fusions, and Ojamuscle that actually destroys your opponent's ojama tokens) and some of the worst (namely the ATK points of the Ojamas). I am one who really looks foward for more Ojama cards (go Ojamachines!) and just when I gave up, they released Ojama Knight.

Anyways, Ojama Trio works well with Fiend Megacyber, Asura Priest, Fenrir, Needle Ceiling, Lava Golem (it's a special summon, not a tribute), and a whole lot of other stuff. It doesn't work with Hydrogeddon though, because the tokens don't go to the grave.

Dark Master Zorc is truley better then Demise' date=' roll a 6? No problem just activate a face down trap known as Dice Re-Roll lets you take another chance at it and hope you don't roll another 6. This ritual monster is a real treasure compared to its weaker cousin Demise.

[/quote']

LOL.

using Dice Re-roll means you have to have another card if you want to use its effect properly, and even then, it may not work, and it still doesnt have the same power as Demise.

Ex. (best case scenario with just the ritual monster)

Summon Demise, pay 2000 to blow up the field, Attack directly for 2400.

or

Summon Zorc, roll 1 or 2, destroy all monsters, not spell and trap cards, attack directly for 2700 (only 300 more), or possibly be Saku'd, mirrored, Cylinder'd.

a lot less risk with Demise, and it's easily used with Doom Dozer for an extra 2800 damage.

But you can use the exact same combo's with demise as u can use with zork, just send the insects to the grave with Advanced Ritual art. than doom dozer, i doubt they will at least cylinder Zorc over doom dozer.
