The year is 2013. Two years ago, ninety percent of the population simple disappeared, all at the same instant. They simply vanished, their clothes falling to the ground. You and nine others, each with the a Mark on them that wasn't there before the Incident, have banded together, scavenging for food. The empty houses and grocery stores provided plenty but all that's gone now. Last week, a man, claiming to be from a colony in Chicago, wandered into town. Weak and exhausted, the man didn't even have the energy to utter his own name. He just said "They're coming. Run" and placed a piece of paper into the hands of Marcus, the appointed leader of the group. Now, after a week's deliberation, the vote was in favor of heading to the Chicago colony. Be warned, they are coming, and they will not be silenced.

 

These so-called "Marked" however, only constitute fifty percent of the survivors. The other half, are simply known as The Others, have become shapeshifters, each one able to transform into a specific animal, or remain at a halfway point between the two. They have become halfway feral, a side effect of the transformation process. Their minds are mostly intact, but they think like predators. And the Marked are the prey.

Raven as a young child was a quite a scholar, he barely had any friends, or belonged to any groups simply because he wished to become the most studious person around. Inside, he always craved to have many friends to interact with, and to belong to social groups, and to overall have a good time; however he wanted to become a Cop like his older brother, one of the few people whom he truly respected. The day he became got his first Rookie job as a Cop (Age 14) he ran home to tell his older brother who he knew was returning from a mission only to find out his brother had died, instead of returning safely as he had promised.

 

Dran's outlook on life was destroyed by this; He stopped caring about his studies, his grades sank, and his physical tests were higher than usual. His parents attempted to get him over the grief, however none of their methods worked. At the tender age of 16, Raven began to take up drinking. This began when he accidentally sipped a whole cup of sake, which he mistaked for juice, he enjoyed it so much, that he became addicted instantly. With alcohol, came charisma. The small studious boy became a party animal among his peers. Soon enough Raven became one of the most popular people in the city everyone knew him and his underage drinking as well. At any party Raven, was sure to be there.
