Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: The Ultimate Shadow Game (Started, Not Accepting)

Well, I had this in mind as a fanfic for a while, but I couldn't think of a way to structure it. So... I decided to make it into an RPG. Hope you like it

 

Plot:

 

It's four years before the GX story line, six years after the official yugioh story line and one year after the Duel Academy, funded by Seto Kaiba, was officially opened.

 

You're all first or second year students, under the guidance of many experienced duelists. However, it's obvious that your stay here will be far from 'normal'...

 

Rules:

 

card restrictions:

• No envoys, egyptian gods, sacred beasts, wicked gods, blue eyes, dark magicians etc. According to cannon, they are either sealed away or belong to a main character and only that main character.
  
• If you're using custom cards, make sure they're not over powered UNLESS they are one/two time, plot device cards. If they are those cards, save them for that specific time in the plot to use them.
  

 

other rules:

 

no millenium items, shadow charms or duel spirits. you won't be getting those... yet.

 

Magic Items or markings:

Pendant: Believe it or not, but the pendants contain a Yami. There are only four of them, so it's first come, first serve. None of them are explicitly evil but they are somewhat confusing. And by Yami, I don't mean the canon yamis, I mean your own personal Yami. The four colours are Red, Blue, White and Black. their plot significance will be explained later, so give them a name of their choice, by all means, but like Atem, leave their memory and backstory blank until later. Each colour has very slight control over an element (fire, water, light and dark, respectively). wearing the pendant also allows you to sense the use of magic.

 

Celtic Cross Tattoo:you have a celtic cross tattoo on your right shoulder. you don't know how you got it, and you're not exactly sure of it's significance. your powers and abilities due to this marking are a mystery for now.

 

Anything else?:

 

well... no, not really. Although I will say this. Despite what the anime may suggest, all problems in this RP can be solved with something other than Duel Monsters. Fists for example, or big heavy rocks. If something that isn't on the curiculum begins to attack you, don't be afraid to get into a brawl.

Bio: His whole life he had been called "Shrimp" or "Pipsqueak" or even, "Halfling", because of his size. He was very short, always the shortest 1 in every game, and because of that, picked near last. Not a lot of people looked up to him, and most of the time, he was an unexpected Duelist, which is the only thing that earned him respect. He was always quiet, and never smiled, but in a competition, he could always be seen, needing to talk to competition. He was instantly put in Obelisk Blue, mostly because his Deck was unexpected from the start. He played small cards, but in the end, he completely dominated his opponent. He loves Insects, but mostly spiders, which he has a pet Tarantula in his backpack.

It had been a month since the academic year at the Duel Academy started. Everyone had mannaged to get settled in. As expected, everything ran smoothily, normally, effortlessly.

 

Simon currently had no classes, so he hung out in the student's rec room, which was a somewhat spacious room on the western areas of the campus. It had a few TVs which could be used to watch duels, locally or globally.

 

Simon sat there and flicked through his deck, stopping occasionally at one or two key cards.

"I hope this deck can see me through the year. I'm not sure if I can keep buying cards to improve my deck," he mutters

Yami Tiger: I'M BORED! THIS IS LAME!

-Henzier had been worried about this new year, even though he didn't have to be worried since he was well known on the campus by almost all the new students, the old ones, and even most of the teachers. You could have said he was popular. He was constantly invited by girls to hang out, or asked out on dates, but he refused, and still has over the 2 years. He looked at his Deck and sighed.-

Henzier: My Civyieroza Izveroin has got to be the only card who someone hasn't faced. I end it before they can even see her.

-He had shrugged as he noticed another girl, walking in the distance towards him, but this one was someone different. It was someone he hadn't seen before. Her long light brown hair breezed gracefully through the wind, her beautiful hazel eyes sparkled like a brown moonlight, her skin was a perfectly tanned color of white and brown, and her, all-around, was amazing to him. He ignored past that fact as she asked him a question.-

Girl: Hi, can you tell me where I can locate the Duel Arena? I haven't taken my test yet, and I can't be late.

Henzier: Of course. It's right down that hall, and around that corner. You should see the door stating it.

-Though he said it so calmly and coolly, he was panicking on the inside. He'd never had troubles like this with a girl before. He choked up his thoughts and asked her a few questions before she was off.-

Henzier: What's your name? What kind of Deck do you use? How old are you?

-The girl looked at him strangely, almost pile-drived by the sudden questions when she only asked one.-

Leyla: My name is Leyla. I use a Deck based on Princess Curran and Pikeru, and I'm 17.

-She was the same age as him. It was unexpected that such a cute, beautiful girl, with such a calm voice, was even talking to him. He was unsure of this feeling, but continued to ignore it.-

Henzier: Well then Leyla. Nice meeting you. We should hang out sometime. Good luck on your Test.

Leyla: Thanks a lot. And yeah, we should.

-She let out a soft giggle, quickly shaking his hand. Her hand felt as soft as velvet scarlet and as she ran by, her hair gently touched his cheek. The touch of her hair sent him into fascination. It smelled of Roses. He loved Roses. Not to mention, it was soft.-

Henzier: What is wrong with me?

-He shook his head, ignoring the feeling and walked off towards his classroom.-

Yami Tiger started rampaging around the Academy forcing people to duel him and when they lose, they suddenly disappear the next day..

 

Yami Tiger (In the middle or should I say beginning of the duel): Now I activate the effect of my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon so I'll special summon Red-Eyes B. Dragon from my Grave.

Now, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (ATK 2800), both you Red-Eyes B. Dragons (ATK 2400), and Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon (ATK 2400), destroy his aquatic Matador (DEF 2000) and attack him directly (4000-7200=0)!

((you guys do realise that you only have the power to, like, light a candle, move a small puddle of water, make a small area of a room dark or create a small orb of light as a torch right? You don't really have the power to steal souls. The Yami is just a spirit. no more no less.

 

and Yugiohpro, that's cool. the pendants don't really rely on a theme, they kind of give you an element based power and a yami with no memory.

Simon began walking through the school from the rec room. he felt somewhat of a disturbance and decided to see what was happening. he then mannaged to encounter Yami Tiger Dueling many students with a terribly aggressive strategy.

"That's odd... I best keep an eye on him," he whispered

IC: Boren was bored. That much was evident. After buying a couple of packs and snacks (chuckling a little at the rhyme), he figured he'd take a walk over to the rec room. Maybe there would be someone to have a game of Duel Monsters with...

 

WHOOSH!

Had Boren not avoided the punch in time, he would have ended up with a face full of fist and possibly a broken nose.

"You're Adlai Frechtus's son, aren't you?"

A Slifer Red a little taller than Boren but much beefier. Much, MUCH beefier.

"Yes, I am. What of it?"

"Your dad is the reason my dad is shocking himself to death! I'll kill you!"

Another punch, but this time Boren was ready. He caught it mid-swing, and in one swift movement, had the arm it was attached to behind its owner's back.

"My father had nothing to do with the demise of yours. Do not forget, Ben Styylinson lost to my father in the middle of his Pro League decline."

He let go of the Slifer's arm.

"I ask you not to bother me again."

Boren continued on his way, leaving the Slifer to nurse his arm.

Henzier: Is this really the competition this year? It's pretty pathetic. Hopefully they get better.

Before Boren made it to the rec room, something strange happened. The pendant that was around his neck began to glow a bright white.

'Magic!' he thought to himself. Then, 'Wait, how did I know that?'

He saw a charging figure. It was the Slifer he encountered earlier. But there was something different about him.

'He's been possessed!' he realized instantly. 'How did I know that?' he once again questioned.

But this was no time for milling about. The demonic redcoat was charging. Boren was rooted. Not out of fear, but something had control of his legs and was weighing him down. As soon as the boy got close, his legs launched him into the air instinctively, and his hand immediately shot forward and launched a white ball of light.

The light hit the boy square in the face. He immediately collapsed and began to seize. A dark apparition exuded from the boy's ears, nose and mouth. Another shot of light dissipated it.

 

"What was that all about?" Boren questioned to himself after he could use his body parts again. "It seemed like when the pendant started lighting up, something else took over. Something that's fought these things before. For now, I'll pretend like this never happened."
