ragnarok1945
exactly, but to that regard it's not THAT huge of a twist. Just think of William's policy towards coverage. It's quite possible that Amanda got denied hers as well, but she still needed the drugs badly
Cloister
Well, of course I think John was right when he said that people in the east pay for what they want and not for what they don't want, that is wise!
ragnarok1945
besides at the end of the film, Jill actually cheated as well for the trap on Hoffman (I recently found out) That upgraded reverse bear trap could only be opened via a key. Jigsaw's original intention was to have Hoffman strapped to the chair, then leave the key out of reach for him. This was to see if Hoffman would break his own hand to undo the strap so he can go get the key and open the trap. But instead, Jill took the key with her and left, which in turn was technically making the trap inescapable for Hoffman.
Cloister
Well, he did escape, but if she took the key, Jill cheated But now we see how much Hoffman wants to live since he escaped the trap even though he shouldn't be able to
ragnarok1945
yeah though this isn't anything new we've seen Some of the tests set up by Amanda were designed to kill a victim one way or another, but in some cases the victim still escaped. Similarly Strahm's trap at the beginning of Saw 5, Jigsaw's tape specifically said if he proceeded deeper, he'll find himself in an inescapable trap, but Strahm escaped anyway
Cloister
Which trap are you talking about, the Box?
ragnarok1945
yeah, the one that had Strahm's head placed in that glass box that was slowly filling with water
Cloister
He wasn't supposed to escape that right, since he wasn't given any chance, but I still think Hoffman placed the pen in his pocket, since he was searching for itDidn't seem like he knew it was there
ragnarok1945
yeah, the tape specifically said if Strahm proceeded, he'll end up in an inescapable trap, which was why Hoffman was surprised that he survived it
Althemia
A Question - Why did Jill not place the key somewhere for Hoffman like intended for his trap at the end of Saw VI? I really didn't understand that ._.
Cloister
She wanted him to die, that's it, since the test was for him originally by Jigsaw, but she felt he shouldn't have a chance to prove that he wanted to live
ragnarok1945
plus it still allowed her to go free without suspicion, at least that was the intention since Hoffman at this point was the only person who knew of Jill's involvement in the games
Cloister
If he had livad (which he does) hoffman could have busted her
ragnarok1945
yeah but by now it appears Hoffman's identity has been exposed, so I doubt people would believe him anymore
Cloister
Well, if he went to the police, he would get caught as well, so he can only "survive" by not making attencion
ragnarok1945
not the police, some other authorities remember, by Saw 5, the entire department has been killed off by Jigsaw's traps, Hoffman was the only one left
Cloister
yes, thats true, but hopefully I would see either hoffman or Jill get killed in 7 or 8 or 9 (if there will be 9)
ragnarok1945
even if Saw 8 IS a go, I seriously doubt they'll be a Saw 9......
Cloister
Yes, it has been too long since Jigsaw died so they are just pushing it
ragnarok1945
actually it hasn't Saw 3 and 4 occurred at the same time, so Jigsaw only died at the end of Saw 4 technically Saw 5 began less than a min after Saw 4 ended, and Saw 6 began only minutes after Saw 5 ended
Cloister
yes, I know, but since he DIED in three (he has been dead in the last three movies) I think they are pushing it a little, but as long as Jigsaw stil appears in the movies I am still watching them
ragnarok1945
yeah that's the one thing a lot of people are not keeping in mind until they see the film itself. A year passes between each film release, but little time actually has passed between the film storyline Though many people still dislike seeing Jigsaw only in flashbacks, it might have been among the reasons why Saw the Game had to be made
Cloister
I haven't played it yet, still look forward to see how it is But the longest time passing between movies are 1 and 2 (I think)
