2 points of concern, and a relevant topic to make it legal

Recommended Posts

1st point, id like to address my drama with tea.

now, my drama with tea is not entirely me just trolling.

though i do troll, and hard.

what i say to tea has nothing to do with her/his/imnotsure playing skills. i just dont like arrogant people. i dislike jd and crabs on some levels for the same reason. and maybe you arent all that arrogant, but i just see a lot of pretentiousness in the manner in which he/she/it carries [pronoun]self.

maybe your deck titles just annoy me, as many times they are only vaguely connected to the deck theme, or connected in convoluted ways as to not aid ones ability in understanding it. then the lack of playbooks usually makes it even less friendly. even for simple decks i usually include a brief commentary on the logic behind the deck or behind certain cards.

granted, i notice, the deck names have gotten closer in the recent renditions to the motifs of the respective decks. also, whats with the `?

by the same token though, i hate people who make deck topics called: "my deck"

or some bs. im selective about the decks i read, because otherwise id be wasting my life, so i like to know going in what the deck is aboot.

your deck titles troll me the same way. in fact, i wouldnt mind the titles, if they had a subtext that mentioned the kind of deck.

blah.

furthermore, you seem to get excessively violent :P and i, hypocrite-ally enough, dislike that.

last, i like to start drama. its amusing.

just look at the fight with qq a while back. that was a funny funking topic. got me like 6 negs and 12 reps.

were only psuedo-friends now because he makes me laugh with his constant ban-dom and we worked on a deck together that seems fun and keewl.

second point of concern:

the fact that i need a card convo to make this a legitimate thread.

now i understand that as the tcg forum, this area is meant for topics relating to the game, and i understand that a forum such as the gen section would be more appropriate for this.

the inherent oversight in this, however, is that when a forum gets this large (90 people constant, wtf), it tends to develop many sub communities.

the tcg section in itself is filled with familiar faces that i might potentially not see in other sections. if i were to post this in gen, then tea and the audience im addressing might not ever see it.

i might be yelling a blah at an audience who has no idea what im talking about.

thats stupid.

my suggestion, aside from validating this with a card discussion thread, on which would hinge the close-ability of the thread, is that we implement a subforum within the tcg for the community. an offtopic section, as it were.

lastly, discuss...

um.... fuckin....

worms.

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Worms

im curious as to how these will affect the meta, if at all.

Regarding Point One:

The deck titles require little understanding to use.

Regarding Point Two:

PMs exist, and multiple recipients exist. Anything beyond that is trolling and attention-whoring.

Regarding The Topic At Hand:

Worms are a bit too slow to break the meta. They OTK with Zero and Ananta, but that's pretty much it.

The first point of concern seems to be "I don't like you because you're arrogant, and your deck titles are ambiguous". Is that pretty much everything?

The second point of concern doesn't exist because I'm a decent chap and don't care whether you augment your thread with a random discussion. If I actually had a problem with these topics, I would lock them whether or not you included the card, since the real point of the thread would still obviously be off-topic.

Have we just been given a mod's consent to make totally off topic threads?

Within reason. If we were to stick purely to the forum's official topicality, then discussion of OCG cards wouldn't be allowed; the forum title clearly says "TCG".

Besides, it would be stupid to allow off-topic threads if and only if they throw something like "btw talk about fissure" at the end; either disallow them completely, or permit them (again, within reason) with or without such a line. GameFAQs follows the former policy; I prefer the latter.

1. Tea is a dude. Marty's the man, knows his yugimanz well even if his deck titles are only meant to MAKE YOU CLICK ON THE THREAD.

2.

You've got me dancin' and cryin'

Rollin' and flying

Love don't let me go

You've got me drownin' in a river

Cold but in fever

Love don't le.....

Erm.. I mean...

worms were the first thing i could think of.

i remember one is alright.

then the rest are pfft.

i happened to notice a lot of threads similar to this be locked.

so meh.

a subforum would still clean it up.

somebody corrected me once and told me tea was a guy.

so blah.

and regardless of whether or not i click "marty"'s topics, i usually only skim the decklists. and he was just complaining about not getting responses in one of the topics. the names arent the end of the world, but id prefer a subtitle with something more descriptive.

im not always led on by the wonder of the title into thinking: "what is this?"

besides

you dont want to captivate everyone. your audience isnt the entire forum. your desired audience should be the select people with expertise in your desired deck type. a subtitle saying: "hey! heres a "blank" deck!" helps that.

also

as for pms, since this drama is now public news, i thought id carry it out in a public form as to dissuade rumors and present only the 1st hand information.
