I think we should have a literature section. A place where people can talk about poetry/books/short stories/etc. A place where people can post their poetry/books/short stories/etc. Much like the Multimedia Forum.

This is at least the fourth time this has been suggested.

The thing is, YCMaker and Falling Pizza think that a Literature section wouldn't be as popular.

So, I suggested including Fan Fics and Roleplays, and Poetry to the section as subforums and such, but it seems like it needs to be worked out a tad more.

But ultimately, I support

This has been brought up time and time again. In theory, I would love to have a Literature section.

But the problem with that is....there is just so much literature out there. Its hard to get members who have read the same stuff as you, unless you're posting about ridiculously popular books (ie, Harry Potter, Twilight, Artemis Fowl).

I know I've tried to get book discussions going in general. I even picked a series that is age-appropriate to this demographic, as well as pretty popular. It still fell flat on its face >_>

Even the Artimis Fowl thread wasn't garnering any actual discussion on the books.

So while I'd like to see it happen, ultimately, I don't think this site is right for it.

Sigh.

But I guess I'll support it, for whatever good that will do. :/

Well even though there is a very large and wide variety of books in the world, dont you think that could be compensated by YCM's large amount of users? =/

Not particularly. I guess part of my problem is that I'm...a bit older than most members. The stuff I read isn't what they read. :/

lol, I think the majority is about 13. Which means they're still reading Pendragon, Artamis Fowl, and Harry Potter. :/

And most school books suck. The exceptions being 1984 and The Kite Runner.
