so apparently this dude won a tourney with a Monarch deck that had Rockets, Shells, blaze in it. i dont know exactly what it was like, but i made one that i think might be close.

MONSTERS:

2 Raiza the Storm Monarch

3 Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch

1 Mobius the Frost Monarch

3 Volcanic Rocket

3 Volcanic Shell

2 Apprentice Magician

2 Old Vindictive Magician

1 Magician of Faith

1 Crystal Seer

1 Sangan

1 Snipe Hunter

1 Breaker the Magical Warrior

1 Treeborn Frog

SPELLS:

1 Blaze Accelerator

2 Wild Fire

1 Mystical Space Typhoon

1 Heavy Storm

1 Brain Control

1 Enemy Controller

2 Pot of Avarice

1 Premature Burial

TRAPS:

1 Torrential Tribute

1 Mirror Force

3 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast

1 The Transmigration Prophecy

2 Bottomless Trap Hole

why only one Blaze Accelerator? because 3 Rockets get it from the Deck OR graveyard. fool.

Ive only played with it once, and i destroyed a dude who was running Apprentice Monarchs. 3 turns. and i crushed my bro's CBs with it. a lot.

I thought of using Rocket (not with Monarchs though), not to burn, but to discard Blaze Excel, or Wildfire, but gave up after seeing it had no advantage over Gadgets. Rocket, Breaker, and Gadgets are some examples of cards that make up for themselves right after they are summoned, but Rocket has to be the worst of them. 7/10 for trying.

Rocket Monarchs...

I like it' date=' its so different from normal Monarch or Volcanic decks as its both but its utilyizing both in a good synergy

[/quote']

No. This is why I don't like the deck. Unlike Dark World Virus, or RFP Monarch, there is no synergy. Running Monarch and Volcano together is like running mill and Exodia. With RFP and Apprentice Monarch, there is constant Tribute Fodder.

Both Volcanic Shell and Rocket gain quick card advantage, but does nothing to help Monarchs. Blaze Accelerator becomes either a dead card in your hand while you wait for a Snipe Hunter, or a dead card on the field, blocking Treeborn, as you wait for a Wildfire.

Wildfire is quite useful, but destroying all monsters on the field makes it unplayable most of the time. Shell generates a +1 or 2, but if you really needed it, then you should use Thunder Dragon, who is alot faster and doesn't require 500 points every turn.

The deck with card advantage gaining cards is the same as Gadget Monarchs (which is also a horrible deck, because of the huge overkill), except slower and based on unuseful cards like Blaze Accelerator. Blaze Accelerator plays an important role in Volcanic Decks, but is completly useless in a Monarch deck.

Bottom line: Volcanic cards have Burn in mind, Monarchs have Control. They don't work well together, no matter who got into the top 8!

Soul Exchange, Treeborn Frog, Foolish Burial are the only common links in cards in all Monarch decks, most monarch decks are a Beatdown/Control, this is Beatdown/Control/BURN deck, also most monarch decks don't have MAIN servants (Except the Firestorm Monarch) outside of the anime world, so volcanics are one option, another option is the crystal beasts for free summoning for tributes (Which I proved with Wicked monsters)

Crystal Beast don't even turn to Spells if tributed' date=' only when destroyed, so it doesn't work.

Your missing what I meant, crystal beasts get destroyed and you can use Crystal Promise to bring in 1 to tribute for a monarch, basically you always have a spare monster to use as tribute when you need it. Its a really simple concept as like I said about Wicked, I used Crystal Promise to bring in Ruby which brought in 2 more from my S/T zones for tribute for Wicked Avatar/Eraser/Dreadroot

Anyway the deck is pretty good with Volcanic it just needs some true testing like to see in order to believe and I can see how this deck would work out with Monarch + Volcanic.

Miguel Albarran placed in the Top 8 at the Shonen Jump Tournament with a deck almost EXACTLY like this. it must be pretty good...

Um, whoever HORUS is quoting about Volcanics being burn and Monarchs being control has never seen PC blow a match open or see Volcanics grind an enemy into the dust.

Wildfire is the most devastating End Phase flip IN THE GAME. You get tribute fodder and an open field to whack with. Go ahead.

Blaze Cannon + Soul Exchange. That's all I'll say for now, as I need to go for dinner.
