Yu-Gi-Oh Fanatic
If you summon Spirit Reaper and activate Creature Swap do you still get your opponents monster if you select spirit reaper? If you can discus this combo!!
shadowferret
Creature Swap doesn't target. So your opponent gets an indestructible monster -- albeit, in attack mode -- and you get their monster. No combos in my head brewin' yet.
Yu-Gi-Oh Fanatic
But CS says selet one monster on their respective (WTF) field. Isn't that a target to a monster on both fields.
shadowferret
Technically, it is a target.BUTIt isn't the card's effect that targets the monsters. It's the players choosing the monster.So... the player is targeting the monster, and not a specific effect. If that makes sense.
Yu-Gi-Oh Fanatic
Yes that amkes sense. So would it be the same if you tried to brain control the target. Then how can an equip card kill it, if a player selects the target??
shadowferret
Okay, I explained it wrong.Brain Control and Equip cards... when you activate them, you choose a target, yes?Looked up the ruling, and for Creature Swap, it's different. The players don't pick the targets when it's activating, but rather, when the spell is resolving. For Spirit Reaper to be destroyed, it has to targer during activation. Brain Control and Equip Cards would destroy it, since you choose the target when you play the Spell. For Creature Swap, the players pick their targets during the card's resolution, so Spirit Reaper wouldn't be destroyed.Sorry for the mix-up. Does that make more sense now?
OnSlaUghT
what if you use soul exchange on spirit reaper?
Phantom Roxas
http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-53747.html It is still destroyed, and you still get your opponent's monster.
Yu-Gi-Oh Fanatic
Yes it does, I think that's the only time YuGiOh can get confusing is when it comes down to activations and resolves. Everything else is easy to understand.
~ P O L A R I S ~
Creature Swap targets bro. It's a 2-for-2 combo. S'alright. Not the BEST combo out there, and you're not gonna want to do everything in your power to get an opportunity to use it, but if you do have both ready it's an extra option.
