HORUS
I heard a while back from a few people (2 of whom were judges) that Gorz's summon cannot be negated by Solemn Judgment by some weird ruling, so I've been going by this. Just making sure this is true.
Sunshine Jesse
Doesn't Gorz's effect activate during the Damage Step? If so, then it can't be Solemned. Otherwise, it might just be a weird ruling.
OmegaWave
lolwikia doesn't seem to have a ruling like that. So i'd say those Judges either lied to you, or don't know what the hell their doing.
BehindTheMask
No, you cannot negate Gorz, Emissary of Darkness's special summoning with Solemn Judgment. Solemn Judgment can only negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, Normal Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon, not the effect of cards. Gorz, Emissar of Darkness's summoning is a result of Gorz, Emissar of Darkness's effect, not a summoning. You can, however, use cards like Divine Wrath to negate the summoning of Gorz, Emissar of Darkness, because they negate the effect of Gorz, Emissar of Darkness. This is different from Dark Armed Dragon, Cyber Dragon and others, because their effects allow them to special summon. I.e. You can use Solemn Judgment to negate Cyber Dragon because the special summoning is not a card effect, it is an inherent(built in) way to special summon Cyber Dragon. Exiro
To add, it's the fact that Gorz triggers to something, that makes it a Trigger Effect, and not a Summon Effect. That is the reason that Solemn can't negate it. You can say the same about Voltanis, for example.
CrabHelmet
Ditto for Nephthys. Solemn only negates Summons that don't use the regular Chain. Also, Counter Traps can be activated in the Damage Step, so Zarkus is just an idiot. >_>
