Today was the same as usual, Rob Mckozkie was being the center of attention by everyone with his show boat Perfect Circle deck. He was getting on my nerves as usual. I'm Sinko.

 

"Heh, one more chump and that free box of boosters will be mine." Said Rob being smug.

 

The judge placed the pairings for the last round, it was me v.s. Rob for the play-off to decide who gets the box but then the box wasn't on my mind, getting that grin off Rob's face was more of a prize.

 

"Ready to lose, newbie?" Rod said being full of himself.

 

"Nope." I said as I sat down and began shuffling my deck.

 

The games had passed, I won the 1st battle, he won the second, just a single battle left.

 

I rolled 4, rob had rolled a 5 and went 1st of course.

 

"I will set a face down monster and two face spell/traps to end my turn." Said Rob sure I would fall into a trap.

 

I drew my card and played my big guns early.

 

"I discard Warrior of Atlantis to bring to my hand A Legendary Ocean, next I will use Heavy Storm to destroy your face downs, then Premature Burial to revive my Warrior of Atlantis and play Legendary Ocean then tribute my monster to bring in Cranium Fish, then I will discard Yomi Ship to the grave to destroy your face down monster and attack you directly, I will set a face down spell/trap and end my turn." I said for my turn.

 

Me: 7200

Rob: 5400

 

"Heh, I summon my Snipe Hunter and discard a card to activate his ability." Rob was saying until he noticed I had flipped face up my face down being Shadow - Imprisoning Mirror to negate his monsters effect. "I will set 2 face downs and end my turn."

 

I drew my card and sent to the grave my Mother Grizzly to destroy his face down spell/trap being Force Back, I entered my battle phase and attacked his snipe hunter, he activated his trap being Phoenix Wing Wind Blast to send my monster to the top of my deck and he discarded a card, I ended my turn seeing as I couldn't fight back this round.

 

He drew and set a face down spell/trap and attacked me directly with Snipe Hunter ending his turn.

 

Me: 5700

Rob: 5400

 

I drew Cranium Fish and ended my turn.

 

Rob drew and summoned his Breaker the Magical Warrior and attacked me with both and couldn't activate breakers ability due to my trap.

 

Me: 2300

Rob: 5400

 

He ended his turn and I drew my Tornado Wall, I set it face down knowing this was a Break or Make turn and the thought of break gave me a shadow of doubt since I was protected only my 2 cards, I ended my turn.

 

My opponent drew and attacked me to be surprised as my Tornado Wall saved me and he couldn't use breakers ability so he ended his turn.

 

I whispered a spell or ritual you will being: "Gods below me, gods above me, gods around me, here my prayer and bless me with a card." I drew in fact Salvage which I played to recover Yomi Ship and Mother Grizzly to my hand and played Mother Grizzly in attack mode ending my turn.

 

Rob drew a card and attacked my Grizzly which got destroyed and I brought up another which got destroyed and another and he ended his turn.

 

I drew my Levia Dragon - Daedalus and tributed my face up Grizzly for it and destroyed my ocean to get rid of all other cards besides my serpent and attacked directly and ended my turn.

 

Me: 2300

Rob: 2800

 

Rob drew and set a face down monster ending his turn.

 

I drew and sent to the graveyard my second copy of Warrior of Atlantis and brought to my hand Legendary Ocean and played it then destroyed it for Daedalus's effect and inflicted 2600 direct damage ending my turn.

 

Me: 3100

Rob: 200

 

He drew Zaborg and played Soul Exchange to get rid of my dragon and summon Zaborg then attack me directly, ending his turn.

 

Me: 700

Rob: 200

 

I drew my last card being call of the haunted and set it ending my turn.

 

Rob drew and attacked me with Zaborg, I had activated my face down trap to bring Daedalus and he ended his attack and turn.

 

I drew Maiden of the Aqua and summoned her to be shortly tributed to destroy and attack directly for game.

 

I was relived to win, though the room had fallen silent not cheering for Rob anymore as he had just for once since he had come here for the past 4 months, had lost. The win felt a little hollow but I still reported the scores and won the box, I gave one pack to each other player who participated feeling I should and even gave one to Rob. Though everyone was chanting the name of a new champion I didn't choose to act like I was big and mighty for I gave SOME of my prizes to the people around me and gained a rival.
