Brain drill

had not heard of them until today. I went on youtube and searched for the fastest drum song ever. turns out, this song is the fastest drum song ever. All it is is a ridiculous amount of gravity blasts. But it is still very epic.

Apocalyptic Feasting-Brain Drill

discuss the epicness of this song/this band.

this is a death metal band (so no complaining to me going "i thought you didnt like Deathcore/Deathmetal." i do now. this song's drums are the best part, though i still hate the vocals.

Brain Drill is my favourite technical death metal band. Technical death metal is basically what I listen to most of the time.

Apocalyptic Feasting is a very epic song. Revelation, Bury The Living, and Sadistic Abductive are just as good, if not better (in the case of Bury The Living, and Sadistic Abductive's bass solo at 0:09).

If you like Apocalyptic Feasting, check out Bury The Living for sure.

And if you like Brain Drill's guitar/drumming/bass style, check out other bands like Necrophagist (songs like Stabwound, Epitaph), The Faceless (songs like The Ancient Covenant, Coldly Calculated Design), and Decapitated (Eye of Horus, The Fury, and Nihility (The Anti-Human Manifesto)). Origin and Nile are also very good technical death metal bands, and Psycroptic and Spawn Of Possession are also quite good but I haven't listened to them much.

Don't listen to any of their new songs though :O

Psycroptic's new album is very good. I've only listened through it once, but it was definitely the best of their albums.

Lord Marco is an amazing drummer.

You should also check out Vile' date=' Vornagar, and Vital Remains. They're a few bands that he's in/has been in.

[/quote']

Lord Marco is the craziest drummer to have ever lived. It's too bad he and Jeff Hughell quit Brain Drill though.

I already know/like necrophagist

But the others are new to me. (not a fan of death. Only classic/heavy' date=' black, and very little prog, with some thrash in there too)

[/quote']

Necrophagist is amazing.

On the topic of technical death metal, if anyone is really into growling vocals, check out the album Nespithe by Demilich. The dude growls deeper and more gutturally than Cannibal Corpse's Chris Barnes.

Bioshock

Call Of Duty 4

Halo 3

Battlefield Bad Company

In that order. Bioshock was simply amazing' date=' I played through it at least 3 different times and never got bored.

[/quote']the only good Power metal band is Alestorm. After that you got stuff like Dragonforce and Sonata Arctica (Sonata Arctica is epic though...)

Um...what's with the quote?

AleStorm really is the only good Power Metal band. Primordial is almost power metal, but much more black metal. If you like epic music, check out Primordial. Primordial is the musical equivalent of a medieval battle.

yeah. And didn't delete the quote ;D

Technically, my band is Black metal, but a bunch of people go "No! Your Metalcore" (I personally hate most Metalcore) I was trying to post a track from a demo album we're recording (or attempting to record even as I'm typing this)

Pirate Metal= Folk Metal >.>

faxed.

quit funking fixing my post.

Alestorm site: Alestorm are a power metal band from Perth, Scotland, formed under the name Battleheart in 2004. Their music is characterised by a pirate theme, for which reason they describe their style as "True Scottish Pirate Metal", (a joke in reference to True Norwegian Black Metal). After releasing two EPs, they were signed by Napalm Records in 2007 and renamed themselves to Alestorm. Their debut album was released on January 25, 2008

Pirate Metal=...Pirate Metal

faxed.

Fixed again.;)

It's really a "genre" on its own' date=' although in the case of Alestorm they are classified as Power Metal in first place. But Folk Metal is something different. Try Ensiferum or Eluveitie for Folk.

I consider Alestorm more of a folk metal band... But, there are some good power metal bands...

Vanishing Point

Galneryus

Apocrypha

Helloween

Sabaton

Just to name a few.

I love you now.

Seriously guys if you want some really good Power Metal try Galneryus! They also had one of the best vocalists ever. Irreplacable...:|

But we're kinda switching off-topic here guys.;)

Brain Dill is not bad, but not the greatest stuff I've heard either. My favourites are Apocalyptic Feasting, Revelation and The Parasites.

Pirate Metal is the same as Folk Metal =/

Alestorm is both Folk Metal, and Power Metal <_<

Anyways, did Brain Drill break up?

I hope not :O

Lol. FINALLY! Someone who appreciates Galneryus! And the folk metal bands you listed are awesome as well.

But, yeah. Brain Drill is nuts. Like Opalmoon said above, The Parasites is a good track.

Oh, and to the kid with the face, no. According to Metal Archives, Brain Drill is still active.

Meh I see them more as a self-proclaimed Pirate Metal band aka Power Metal with Pirate lyrics and some Folk elements in some of their songs. Actually Pirate Metal is not an established genre yet, they just described their music as such to put themselves apart from other bands.

But on a whole I see them as more Power than Folk and I don't think Pirate Metal, if it's considered a genre, is automatically equal to Folk. "Real" Folk Metal uses old instruments or at least something that imitates the sound of it and takes reference from Celtic, medieval, ancient or oriental music. Like Midnattsol, Korpiklaani, Schandmaul, Subway to Sally, Eluveitie and others.

But if you see them and any other Pirate bands more as Folk Metal then I don't mind.;)

And no as far as I know they never broke up.

(Did you say that just to sound on-topic?)

To Mars: I know, I luv u nao.:) One more magic potion right?

That's a great song, but I'm fond of Slayer of Light, Battle Song, and Guardians of Fate.

Man. This is way off topic. I apologize... :-(

Brain Drill FTW.
