Mage' date=' because they can cast spells to block your attacks and kill anyone they want. Ha.

But if attacked by a ninja the mage probably won't know he was close so doesn't have time to cast a spell.

In my opinion it depends on the situation.

Warriors are better if it's a full on assault.

Ninjas and archers are good for ambushes since ninjas are stealthy and archers can take them out from afar.

Mages are best used with warriors since they can be easily defeated at close range but even then they can still do a lot of damage.

I would say mage because they can take out enimies from a distance and can still fight up close.

Mage' date=' because the can use magic to kill their opponent very easily. If confronted close-range, they (should) use weapons if they're well trained (which they should be).

Double classing magic with weapons is definitely banned.

And if you think about it, it takes years of hard training to become proficient with a sword, and hypthetically, I'm sure it also takes years of hard training to become proficient at magic. Thus, its one or the other, you can specialize in both.

Every time I've read a book with mages or played video games with mages' date=' they've been proficient with weapon and able to kill with it. (EX. Genis Sage, Eragon)

Mage-knights were definitely banned from RPGs for being super rigged powerhouses (Knight's tanking, mage's firepower = GG)

And I've never read Eragon, but I thought that book was about dragons?
