HORUS

By country' date=' I meant like farmland. I've lived in Australia my entire life, and it annoys me how anyone could possibly associate Australians with that stereotype. If any person lived like that they'd have a pretty lazy life, but it's unheard of wherever I go.[/quote']

I can understand your argument, I apologise if you believe I am stereotyping us. It may be where you're from, as on this side of the country, there a plenty of examples of this.

It's the kind of image that Australian films are based off and the kind of stuff that makes Australians look stupid to the rest of the world.

Excuse me? If you are saying that the Australian Film Industry poorly portrays Australia' date=' I have two words for you; Get Out! The Australian Film Industy is very select, not only is it EXCLUSIVELY targeted at Australians, it also targeted at certain states.

Try finding an Australian movie on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com) that has a rating above 7/10. Some of the greatest ever films were Australian. The first ever feature length film was Australian. They are rated poorly, because all the sad American people get bored and go and rent films from the international section (which includes Australian films), and they hate it, because they don't understand it. They are ours, and if you don't like 'em, don't watch 'em, I can hardly believe you are a born and bread Australian. And what films would you be refering to, by the way?[/quote']

Let me think of all the annoyingly iconic movies that really love to insult our intelligence:

Crocodile Dundee (decent, but unfortunately most of us don't carry knives like that in real life.)

Crackerjack

The Castle

in our defence:

Wolf Creek (disturbing and exaggerated, but well made never the less.)

Ten Canoes

Wolf Creek is a quality film, Lets try to stay on topic shall we?

Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast

"Woe to you, Oh Earth and Sea, for the Devil sends the

beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short...

Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the

beast for it is a human number, its number is Six hundred and

sixty six."

I left alone my mind was blank

I needed time to think to get the memories from my mind

What did I see can I believe that what I saw

that night was real and not just fantasy

Just what I saw in my old dreams were they

reflections of my warped mind staring back at me

'Cos in my dream it's always there the evil face that twists my mind

and brings me to despair

The night was black was no use holding back

'Cos I just had to see was someone watching me

In the mist dark figures move and twist

Was this all for real or some kind of hell

666 the number of the beast

Hell and fire was spawned to be released

Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised

As they start to cry hands held to the sky

In the night the fires burning bright

The ritual has begun Satan's work is done

666 the number of the beast

Sacrifice is going on tonight

This can't go on I must inform the law

Can this still be real or just some crazy dream

But I feel drawn towards the evil chanting hordes

They seem to mesmerise me ... can't avoid their eyes

666 the number of the beast

666 the one for you and me

I'm coming back I will return

And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn

I have the fire I have the force

I have the power to make my evil take it's course

Let me think of all the annoyingly iconic movies that really love to insult our intelligence:

Crocodile Dundee

Crackerjack

The Castle

Three of my favourite movies' date=' what a coincidence!

[b']Crocodile Dundee has done nothing but good for our (Australia's) economy[/b], people were intrigued by this man and his behaviour and spent big on trips to the Great Land Downunder, to see it's interesting people, places and wildlife.

Crackerjack is about lawn bowls my friend, can't get much more Aussie than watching old folks rolling balls on a Sunday morning, apart from playing cricket on Saturday. What section in a video store would you find Crackerjack? It's a comedy!!

The Castle is arguably the best Australian comedy ever. Judging by the fact that you didn't answer my question about your age, you're probably not old enough to understand any of the above films' importance to our country's more recent development.

Wolf Creek is a fine film, there's no denying that fact, but I really can't see why your would consider Ten Canoes that much of a masterpiece, I've seen the film, and I'll have you know, I found it entertaining, but nothing special.

No one's going to watch those films and go 'Is every Aussie like that?', no one is that stereotypical.

My deepest apologies for going off-topic Danilus, but this offends me to no end.

Edit: A perfect example of Australia being independent and it's own nation is the song 'Jack Off Australia', which is also by Chris Franklin. No, it's not about what your sick mind thinks, but it's about our flag, however, the lyrics are still too inappropriate for this site. :P

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

You're sick of feeling numb

You're not the only one

I'll take you by the hand

And I'll show you a world that you can understand

This life is filled with hurt

When happiness doesn't work

Trust me and take my hand

When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Anger and agony

Are better than misery

Trust me I've got a plan

When the lights go off you will understand

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing

Rather feel pain

I know (I know I know I know I know)

That you're wounded

You know (You know you know you know you know)

That I'm here to save you

You know (You know you know you know you know)

I'm always here for you

I know (I know I know I know I know)

That you'll thank me later

Pain, without love

Pain, can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Rather feel pain than nothing at all

Rather feel pain

My fave "Over It" by Katherine McPhee

I'm over your lies

And I'm over your games

I'm over you asking me when you know I'm not ok

You call me at night

And I pick up the phone

And though you've be tellin' me, I know you're not alone

Oh, and that's why

Your eyes.. I'm over it

Your smile.. I'm over it

Realized.. I'm over it

I'm over it

I'm over

[CHORUS:]

Wanting you to be wanting me

No, that ain't no way to be

How I feel

Read my lips

Because I'm so over (I'm so)

Moving on, and it's my time

You never were a friend of mine

Hurt at first

A little bit

But now I'm so over

I'm so over it

I'm over your hands

And I'm over your mouth

Trying to drag me down

And fill me with self doubt

Oh, and that's why

Your world.. I'm over it

So sure.. I'm over it

I'm not your girl

I'm over it

I'm over it

I'm over

[CHORUS:]

Wanting you to be wanting me

No, that ain't no way to be

How I feel

Read my lips

Because I'm so over (I'm so)

Moving on, and it's my time

You never were a friend of mine

Hurt at first

A little bit

But now I'm so over

So over It

I'm so over it

Oh, oh

Don't call

Don't come by

Ain't no use, don't ask me why

You'll never change

There'll be no more cryin' in the rain

Oh, oh oh

I'm over it

[CHORUS:]

Wanting you to be wanting me

No, that ain't no way to be

How I feel

Read my lips

Because I'm so over (I'm so)

Moving on, and it's my time

You never were a friend of mine

Hurt at first

A little bit

But now I'm so over it

I'm so over it

I'm over it

[CHORUS:]

Wanting you to be wanting me

No, that ain't no way to be

How I feel

Read my lips

Because I'm so over (I'm so)

Moving on, and it's my time

You never were a friend of mine

Hurt at first

A little bit

But now I'm so over it

I can't get to sleep

I think about the implications

Of diving in too deep

And possibly the complications

Especially at night

I worry over situations

I know I'll be alright

Perhaps it's just imagination

Day after day it reappears

Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear

Ghosts appear and fade away

Alone between the sheets

Only brings exasperation

It's time to walk the streets

Smell the desperation

At least there's pretty lights

And though there's little variation

It nullifies the night from overkill

Day after day it reappears

Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear

Ghosts appear and fade away

Come back another day

I can't get to sleep

I think about the implications

Of diving in too deep

And possibly the complications

Especially at night

I worry over situations

I know I'll be alright

It's just overkill

Day after day it reappears

Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear

Ghosts appear and fade away

Ghosts appear and fade away

Ghosts appear and fade away

Moon on the water - Beck Mongolian Chop Squad

Full moon sways

Gently in the night of one fine day

On my way

Looking for a moment with my dear

Full moon waves

Slowly on the surface of the lake

You were there

Smiling in my arms for all those years

What a fool

I don't know 'bout tomorrow

What it's like to be

Ah...

I was fool

Couldn't let myself to go

Even though I feel

The end

Old love affair

Floating like a bird resting her wings

You were there

Smiling in my arms for all those years

With blood shot eyes I watch you sleeping

The warmth I feel beside me is slowly fading

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she knew my shame?

Theres always something different going on

The path I walk is in the wrong direction

There's always someone funking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don't fall

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Your tears don't fall

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

The moments died, I hear no screaming

The visions left inside me are slowly fading

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she knew my shame?

Theres always something different going on

The path I walk is in the wrong direction

There's always someone funking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don't fall

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Your tears don't fall

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Oh! Yeah!

This battered room I've seen before

The broken bones they heal no more, no more

With my last breath I'm choking

Will this ever end I'm hoping

My world is over one more time

Lets go

Would she hear me if i called her name?

Would she hold me, if she knew my shame?

Theres always something different going on

The path I walk is in the wrong direction

There's always someone funking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don't fall

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Your tears don't fall [tears don't fall]

They crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come...BETTER! [conscience calls]

Your tears don't fall

They Crash around me

Her consience calls the guilty to come HOME!
