Saiba Aisu
Alright, guys. Thanks to Kale's extraordinary and inspiring work, I decided to try my hand at creating a Japanese anime-styled monster for a change. It's my first one, so I probably made a bunch of mistakes, the main one being that the card's text isn't justified... [spoiler=NOTE:]I used GIMP to edit the necessary elements of this card. Does anyone know if GIMP allows you to justify text? Also, I'd like to know what font sizes generally work for Names, Types, and Flavor/Effect Text. I don't think GIMP does decimaled font sizes... If you notice any discrepancies in the Japanese characters versus the effect, I'd be obliged if you could point it out, and also provide a suitable replacement. I just used Google translator... Serpentine Dragon Card TextYou can tribute 1 Reptile-Type monster you control to Special Summon this card from your hand. You can remove 1 Reptile-Type monster in your Graveyard from play to activate one of the following effects:• Destroy up to 2 Spell or Trap Cards your opponent controls.• Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and reduce its ATK and DEF to 0. Flash Flyer - Sakura
It looks really good, I like it. BTW, I use GIMP and it doesn't do decimal font sizes, sorry
Saiba Aisu
Thanks, Jk. Kale told me I did a pretty decent job for my first time, but I'd like to get all of my errors corrected - posting text in Japanese lends a rare touch of sophistication and elegance to almost any card. Bull3tM0nk3y
For it to have editable text, save it as: .XCFthen no matter what person has GIMP, even without the text saved, (so the other person does not have the text) it will still do it. Saiba Aisu
I wanted to ask, briefly... In Japanese (OCG)-style cards, I've noticed that some sets of monsters (like the Elemental Heroes) will not be listed as "E-Hero - Bubbleman". Instead, they substitute the dash with a bullet, so that it would read: "E-HERO • Bubbleman". Is this the proper thing to do when making Japanese-style cards?
