Jared moved in circles around Marcus, looking for a weak point to strike. Where could his weak point be?

Byron noticed everyone at the Onion Ring was tensed. "What's going on?"

Karen said, "Jared's no match for Marcus. I fought him when he was just beginning in Diabolus two years ago and he beat me hard."

Marcus flung himself at Jared, forcing Jared into a crater. "Ha, your pathetic."

 

Jared's black cloak and scythe appeared. "Bring it on, Marcus."

 

Marcus came dashing at Jared only to disappear and land a single hit to the back, crippling Jared onto the ground, knocking him out of his Reaper form. "A reaper, huh?"

 

Marcus started laughing insanely.

Karen walked to the nature lodge. "Jared's going to die if no one saves him soon. He's been fighting with Marcus for like an hour. It took Marcus two minutes to finish me..."

Byron ran up to Karen. He was panting heavily, "Marcus... is here?"

 

Karen bowed her head. "Yes, and he is fighting Jared."

Jared turned towards Britney and Natalie. "This isn't the time."

Streams of blood ran down the sides of Jared's face and arms.

 

Byron arrived. "Marcus, you are a fool."

 

Marcus turned in surprise. "Most of the family is here."

 

Jared attack Marcus from behind, holding his brother in a chokehold.

You forget we are a lot stronger than a couple months ago, a voice told Leon "It's been awhile since we last chat...father." Just wait until Marcus is weak and defenseless before you decide to strike, Sephimecia warned. "Whatever," Leon said

"Oh, another Reaper." Marcus laughed.

 

Byron sprang up behind Marcus, carrying a blade through Marcus stomach. "Foolish little brother, respect your elders."

 

Byron was thrown back into a tree by sheer force. Marcus ripped the blade out of his back, the wound sealing up almost immediately.

 

Byron ran over to Jared to help him.

Leon smirked. "You fool," he said in a calm, cool voice, "Once my Soulblade locks in on life-force, it won't stop until either it kills it's target or until I say so." The Soulblade appears from behind Marcus and goes right threw him, but just misses is heart. "And I'm not just an Incubus," he jumped off the branch. His aura jumps off the scales and he enters true form while in Reaper form. "I'm the last living Dark Angel as well."

"Only half-and-half." Marcus said. "You're an abomination to the world."

 

He reached for Soulblade as it almost pierced him again, his last injuries gone. "You should die."

 

Marcus was in front of Leon, the Soulblade hanging behind his chest. "You're going to die here."

 

Marcus pierced Leon, also forcing the sword through his own lower torso. Marcus jumped backward as Leon fell to the ground. "Just because your part Dark Angel doesn't mean you aren't able to lose."

Marcus jumps forward, punching Natalie in the gut. "You must be a fool. A Vermillion Bird sent to do this? Provide a challenge. Give me an Elder Demon or a Vampire. One that's talented."

 

Jared stands, his arm red with blood.

 

"C'mon Jared, we have to get you out of here," Byron said, trying to pull Jared down onto his shoulders.

 

Jared shook his arm out of Byron's grip. "No, Byron. I need to teach this cretin-of-a-brother some manners."

 

Jared grabbed Marcus by the throat squeezing down. "Listen, Marcus," Jared spat his name, "You never did learn anything from me did you."

 

With his free hand, Jared punched Marcus in the gut. "Never hit a woman."

 

Byron ran over to Leon, making sure he wasn't dead. "He's got a pulse. It's weak. Britney, you've got some healing power don't you? Isn't that something succubi can do?"

 

Jared dropped Marcus on the ground, turning. "Let's leave."

Leon's Dark Angel wing pushed Byron and Britney away. "He's fine. You can deal with him later," Sephimecia said. He has taken control of Leon's body, replacing the Incubus wing with another Dark Angel wing. The wounds quickly healed, due to Britney and Sephimecia's combined healing magic. Sephimecia rushed to Marcus and stabbed him in the chest, the tip just touching Jared
