Did Sasuke just turn evil again? That wasn't even necessary. Everything was going fine but now he turns evil again for no reason whatsoever. Somebody just resummon Itachi and have him slug Sasuke already.

'no reason whatsoever'

Well, first of all, he hasn't turned evil and we've gotten hints of it ever since he said he wanted to be Hokage and tried to burn down the Juubi fifty chapters back. What you're seeing here is nothing but the conclusion he's reached after his encounter with Edo!Itachi and hearing Hashirama's ancient story.

Now, Sasuke isn't motivated by revenge towards anyone, but he's thinking more broadly. Just like Naruto, his goal is to end the cycle of hatred. It just so happens that his method is more direct and tyrannical in nature than Naruto's.

His reasoning is basically:

1. The presence of the five different Kage cause the shinobi world to divide into five different nations, each with their own ideals, bound to clash again and again due to their differences. By removing that centerpoint, he can forcefully unite everyone into a singular nation to prevent more conflict.

2. The Bijuu are weapons of mass destruction that people always fight over, their very presence causing conflict and misery all the time. Think of them like atomic bombs - a world without atomics bombs would be a better place.

3. If he doesn't do it now, when Infinite Tsukuyomi's still active, then he won't get another chance and the cycle of hatred that Hashirama and Itachi described will only continue on and on.

Not saying his line of thought is good, but it's not necessarily evil either. I mean, it IS a way. Just like how communism is always an option over democracy.

He's doing it right, I would summon the 4 Kage and Madara in their bodies as eternal guardians of the order, but W/E

Sakura gets stabbed through the chest.

Don't scare the few Sakura fans out there . . . . it was a genjutsu . . .

I like that we begin to get a bit more glimpse into Sasuke's thinking. He refuses, or refuses to believe, that Sakura actually does love him or that he can love anyone back. I also like that Sakura admits she's useless, only to have Sasuke take her out via genjutsu because he knows she'd simply follow, get in the way, and probably end up getting herself killed.

I know, did it for the surprise factor. By giving the illusion that I posted a major spoiler.

Well, looks like next chapter is going to be where Sasuke explains his motivation. I hope it doesn't last long, though. The fight really does need to get going. Hopefully Hagoromo helps Kakashi out in the meantime.

I did like that Sakura tried to plea to Sasuke, though seriously, Sasuke, you're trying way too hard to get her to stop loving you.

So the battle doesn't start quite yet, and instead, we get to see more into the new ideology that Sasuke proposes.

Also, I can't tell whether Kishi's supporting or criticizing SasuSaku in this chapter because it appears to be going both ways. Seriously, it's confusing.

And Adam, it's already been clear from the very beginning that the only person is Sasuke's heart is Naruto.

Come on that joke has been made one too often to be funny anymore.

Though I will say that Sakura saying that she's still in love with Sasuke means it's almost certain that Naruto is going to be with Hinata.

Praise be NaruHina!!!

I think he's trying to show both sides of the pairing, assuming that's on his mind.

That said, I disagree with NaruSasu. Gaara deserves Naruto more.

If Naruto ever did go the yaoi route, I'd ship NarutoxGaara over anything else.

I kinda am thinking the manga's going to go NaruHina and SasuSaku, but not overly positive.

The thing is, I don't want people to forever hate this manga just because their main shipping didn't happen, even though I know that's an inevitability. I can totally understand being pissed if say, a NaruSaku fan is sad Naruto and Hinata got together, or vice-versa. But that's just one aspect of the manga, and not even as big a part as others. It shouldn't severely ruin the whole experience for you.
