The only good part about the movie was the character's switch of roles, and how the akatsuki were mercenaries. the rest of the film was pretty much awful.

 

You sure? We also got to see a little character development from Naruto. His situation as an orphan was emphasized (though we tend to ignore this, Naruto's an orphan from birth, and spent his entire life growing up alone). Near the end, he had to struggle between either staying in that world and being with his parents safely, or go down the road to a ninja and return to his own world. Sakura had a more minor conflict (an annoying one at that), but she did learn her lesson by the end.

 

If that's awful writing, I don't know what isn't.

The akatsuki were mercenaries anyway, weren't they? I mean, I remember them being explained as mercs when they were still a new concept in the series.

My problem with Sai is that his big thing was being Sasuke's replacement. After they went into his back story they never came back to the reason he existed in the first place. I remembered when Shippuden started that I was so hyped for Sai to grow and eventually fight Sasuke, but nothing remotely close happened.

Yeah, Sai and Yamato could've been utilized more beyond being plot devices, but what can you do. Maybe they still have time for one last big thing before the series ends, or maybe Yamato at least, considering he's in a prime position to do something.

 

I saw Road to Ninja and I liked it a lot. Awesome battles and a pretty decent story for an anime movie; I just would've liked to see more of the AU characters.

Yamato is the 10-tailed beast, totally calling it here and now.

 

As for the movie I'd like to se emore of the AU Characters as well. It got some laughs from me, namely Rock Lee being a pervert along with Negi (seriously I fell over for Lee's part) and Sakura being jealous of Hinata for her bust size.

 

Something that has been bothering me since I watched the movie last night though is this. We saw that Menma, the AU Naruto, was the Masked Man hunting down all of the other tailed beasts. Why?

 

I don't remember it being explained why Menma went evil and decided to attack the other tailed beasts.

 

Not only that, but why didn't Yamato and Kishina realize he was gone?

 

If there the Menma/Naruto of that world existed at the same time as our Naruto, where is the AU Sakura? Why didn't she make an appearance?

 

 

On the topic of the manga I think Kishi could've really dealt with the issue of Yamato a lot easier. I mean think about it, you have a massive army of Zetsus that are enough to fight against all of the ninjas and not only hold them back, but alongside the Edo Tensei Warriors push them back.

 

Why not have Sai and some of the others sneak in and free Yamato, thus killing the Zetus off, while Sakue does his thing and gets Kabutomaru to get rid of the Edo Tensei?

 

That would've been interesting. The powerful warriors, Kage and what not, fighting to keep the enemy back as others work in the background to destroy Marada/Obito's army.

 

And once that was done Madara/Obito could just summon the tailed beasts and fight against the 9-Tails and 8-Tails until they form the 10-Tails out of desperation.

Some of this is explained, but not in the movie.

 

First off, AU Sakura - go watch the Naruto episode "Road to Sakura" (episode 271 of Naruto Shippuden). Apparently, when Sakura entered the AU World, she switched places with her alternate self. Don't know why Menma didn't switch with Naruto, but I guess Tobi shenanigans.

 

Kushina and Minato didn't notice he was gone because they were out on a mission. He probably disappeared during that time, and boom, Naruto also appears during that time. It was implied near the end that Tobi brainwashed him and made him evil (judging by how his hair reverted back after Tobi left). Tobi's primary goal was to use Menma to overpower Naruto and then take his Kyuubi, but maybe he also wanted to see if he could create the Juubi in the AU World.

Never heard of the episode, but then again I don't watch the anime. I'll check it out

 

Okay I watched "Road to Sakura" and it was alright . . . for a filler episode. I laughed when everyone was trying to help Sakura get her memories back and had to act like their AU Counter Parts. Shino's part made me laugh and Shikamaru had the look of "just kill me now" on his face as he swung back and forth trying to act stupid.

 

And nice movie promo when all of the kids are there talking about Sakura's amnesia.

 

Outside of that it wasn't really that remarkable or stood out in any significant way if you haven't seen the movie.

 

On a final note- Hinata's outfit was amazing （＾ω＾）~♥♥

Oh, you guys might be interested, so there's also a Drama CD set during the movie. It was pretty hilarious xD and it's perhaps the only thing that could make me ship SasuHina...AU, anyway~

Ino is really worried about Sakura,you know, because Charasuke is a manwhore!

Jajaja, in a party, Chouji is trying to be flashy in front of Sakura, but it fails completely in front of Sasuke, who attends Sakura like a princess xD. Poor Chouji.

But Sasuke uses genjutsu, oh God.

A lot of girls ask why Sasuke didn’t pay attention to them. Sasuke use genjutsu again xD. He denied everything. What an annoying girls…

Sasuke apologizes to Sakura, he says something like she’s the only one (Didn’t hear pretty well).

Then Ino uses the mind transfer jutsu. And took Sasuke out of the party/store.

Sasuke tell her to let him go, and ask her what’s her problem so, Hinata (Ino) says that it’s about what happened earlier in the party, and Sasuke is llike ‘Mmm, but what happened? It was something bad?’ And Hinata (Ino) says something like ‘What happened it wasn’t right!’

And boom, Sasuke’s heart start beating like crazy xD, and he starts thinking that she’s cute, and Hinata says that he should stop looking at her, and in that moment, Ino releases the jutsu.

Then Hinata goes back to herself and ask Sasuke what are they doing in that place, but Sasuke starts talking about kissing and Hinata freaks out jaja, and says ‘So you like me, ne?’ and Hinata is like ‘Eh? EH?!’

He keeps talking stupid things, mentioned Menma and baam, Hinata hits him xDDDD.

 

Then Ino returns to the party/store, and apologize to Sakura, then Sakura says that is fine, that the party was interesting. Then Ino says that she can trust in her, and Sakura says that she’s happy and that she’s going to meet with Menma and leaves.

 

Team Ino-Shika-Cho are glad they were able to ‘protect’ their friends from the evil Charasuke xD, and Ino says that she’s happy she can make Sakura feel happy awwww. And Chouji says that Menma lately has been more kind and with good temper.

 

Then, Menma (Naruto) is walking thinking that Sakura must hurry and that is boring to wait, then he finds Sasuke, and laughs at him xD, and Sasuke tells him to shut up, and walks out. Menma (Naruto) doesn’t understand him neither.

Sasuke: Oi Hinata, let me go already.

Sasuke:  You’re really weird (he’s using “wakaranai yatsu “, which kind of means someone he doesn’t understand) Why did you bring me here after cutting me off?

Hinata (Ino): B-Because, it looked like it was going well…

Sasuke: Huh? What’s wrong with that? Isn’t it what you wished for?

Hinata (Ino): N-No, I never wished for anything like this!

Sasuke: ‘W-what’s with her? Suddenly saying something cute.  Moreover, she’s looking at me with teary eyes. sheet, what is this strange phenomenon* (not exactly sure what he said, but something along the line) I’m getting a huge effect from Hinata’s “tsun” to “dere” effect.

Hinata (Ino): I will never accept the two of you getting close together!

Sasuke: Oh, I get it.

*Ino leaves Hinata’s body*

Hinata: Ouh, where am I? And why the f*ck are you here, Sasuke?! (she use “Yagaru” to indicate hatred and contempt)

Sasuke: you’re the one who brought me here. But more importantly…I’m sorry I didn’t notice until now.

Hinata: Ewww, why are you suddenly so happy?! (“nekonadegoe” means “a cat that looks happy being caressed”, suddenly sounded happy *thanks Terru-chan!) You’re disgusting!

Sasuke: Don’t be shy now. The truth is, you like me right?

Hinata: Eh? Ehhh!?

Sasuke: if you think about it, I should have noticed it from the start. That’s why you wanted me to help you with your wish and I collaborated. But, in the end, you can’t hide your true feelings for me.

Hinata: That’s not it!

Sasuke: Shhh, you don’t have to say any more, Koneko-chan.

Sasuke: Really, you really had me fooled going ‘Menma, Menma’. Come here, I ‘ll return your feelings back. (he’s pretty much saying he accepts her ‘feelings for him)

Hinata: I said that’s not it!

*punches Sasuke*

That was something I couldn't figure out. Who Naruto summoned and who the f*ck Sasuke summoned.

Some snake, probably Manda II or something. I'm sure Kishi will give us a quick glimpse at his personality when we see the inevitable opening lines of the animals and their summoners quickly conversing before some awesome ninja animal action.

 

Actually, I'm not sure that slug's Katsuyu either. Katsuyu's supposed to be with Tsunade and the Kages right now, so that's probably a new animal too.

Actually, I'm not sure that slug's Katsuyu either. Katsuyu's supposed to be with Tsunade and the Kages right now, so that's probably a new animal too.

 

 

Since Naruto did summon Gamakichi its likely the other 2 are the children of Manda and Katsuyu.

Sakura I understand - timeskip shenanigans, but for Sasuke, when did he ever get the chance to contract with another snake? Then again, when did he get to do it with a hawk? Even Tobi wondered about that.

 

It can't be Manda II because it's too small. Manda II was large enough to wrap around the island turtle's neck, remember? Plus that thing belonged to Kabuto anyway, who's now trapped forever.

Well that was cool.

So the new snake's name is Aoda and he seems to be the polite type. I was surprised Sakura summoned Katsuyu, but judging by the ending panel (totally called Orochimaru going there by the way), she's either dead (hoping not) or she's on the brink of death and managed to give some chakra to the other Kages.

Or something.

Naruto and Sasuke's jutsu was sick. Seriously sick.
