·Toot
That makes sense why Madara ended up cementing his hatred then. And obviously Hashirama won't listen to what he says. He goes on to form the Hidden Leaf as their First Hokage with his brother following him. What I realized after reading was that the last battle in the chapter wasn't the Final Valley one, that comes later. But good stuff, I'm still very invested in this flashback.I thought Madara took part in founding the leaf village. And he got mad because the villagers chose Hashirama as Hokage over him. That's what sparked that fight in the Valley place thingy...

The rest of the clan consented, so he decided to follow suit. But he wasn't buying it after a while and tried to leave the village with the clan, but no one wanted to, so he went alone and began a crusade against the Leaf, which is when Hashirama intervened for a final showdown. Monkey
I was hoping that we would see that fight pan out... Rather than just see them retreat
Lt. Colonel Remo
But what I'm wondering is why he would follow suit if neither brother ended up dead. I wonder how this'll turn out. Something's telling me he's gonna kill off all of his clan except for Tobirama. /ItachiI seriously agree that this might have happened. Or at least some sort of mass exile. Kakashi Hatake
Hashirama would never do anything like that. It's way too extreme.
Fusion X. Denver
But what I'm wondering is why he would follow suit if neither brother ended up dead. I'm guessing "If you can't beat em, join em." will be the initial reasoning. And I really don't think Hashirama would do that, his whole agenda is to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Merci
And I really don't think Hashirama would do that, his whole agenda is to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Yet he supported Itachi fulfilling out his order of annihilating the entire Uchiha clan. I still believe that there might've been a more peaceful way out of it. I still believe that there might've been a more peaceful way out of it.There really wasn't. Hiruzen made it pretty clear that he tried literally everything they could to dissuade the Uchiha, but had to use Itachi as the last resort. In the current flashback, the ultimatum isn't going to play out the way Madara wants. If the Senju clan were exterminated, that'd taint the 1st's legacy quite a bit, wouldn't it? Kakashi Hatake
Well, Talk No Jutsu worked on Nagato. Why wouldn't it work on them too?Because that jutsu can only be performed by the lead in any shonen manga, Hashirama is only a supporting role. Fusion X. Denver
So Hashirama invented the Kage system and Madara named the village. Cool beans. And Tobirama inadvertently screwed things up again. Bad beans.Overall, alright chapter. Beans.
Merci
I liked the chapter, a few heartwarming moments, a few CURSE YOU TOBIRAMA moments, it was pretty decent. I wonder what life would've been like if Tobirama didn't interfere and Madara did end up as Hokage... I bet the Uchiha Clan would've lasted much longer. Well, the past between Hashirama and Madara is resolved now. I think we should be returning to that epic battle in the next chapter.

And I'm sure the next chapter or two will introduce us to Mito and flesh her out a bit.
·Toot
Page 20 was funny as hell. But I do hope we can go to the present in the next chapter. My anticipation is growing...
Phantom Roxas
Trying to determine if something is Tobirama or the Senju's fault is like the question of the chicken or the egg. Maybe it's still the Uchiha's fault, because they fostered Tobirama's hate for them? Kind of like how Obito went crazy after Rin died, Tobirama's discrimination began once Itama was killed. This whole cycle of revenge really is insane, but I'm okay with it.

Flame Dragon
Tobirama just seems like an ass. I can understand his view but he is so narrow minded its frustrating.
Fusion X. Denver
I do feel Tobirama went about things the wrong way, but I can understand his thinking and I can't hold his motives against him. That's the tricky thing about the cycle of hatred in this series, almost everyone except Sasuke post-Itachi is in at least some way justified in what they're doing. Fusion X. Denver
[spoiler=Woof]Hashirama had to stone his heart at the end there. I guess this is where the contrast between him and Naruto will set in. Naruto will be able to save and change his former best friend from the path of evil (hopefully) whereas Hashirama chose the path of ending it himself.Kinda think it's anticlimactic to beat Madara with a clone...but whatever.Shame there won't be Mito scenes, but at least we can see Sasuke's reaction and plot advancement next chapter. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
So we go back to the present. Good. I have some parts I didn't quite like in this one though, like when Manju Of The Ten Thousand Hands attacks, we didn't get a clarification whether it's during the battle before the flashback-ception or another time until a few pages later. Fighting was pretty good, although the wood clone and Hashi stabbing Madara's back was anti climatic. I thought it would end in an epic clash or something. [spoiler=Stay classy, Mangapanda translators.] Hashirama came twice lol.
