I think that when Tobi phases through the attacks, he sends that specific part of his body into the alternate dimension. Therefore, in the alternate dimension, all there is is his arm and shoulder floating in mid air. So when Naruto attacked with Rasengan, Kakashi used Kamui to send the Rasengan into the alternate dimension to strike Tobi's shoulder.

So in the real world, we see the Rasengan vanish and Tobi phase through the attack, but in the alternate dimension, we see the Rasengan hit Tobi's shoulder. Then once Tobi was hit in the alternate dimension, the hit simultaneously occurs in the real world. Since Tobi has nowhere else to transfer his body, he is screwed and has to take the damage.

I hope I'm making sense. But the "one Jutsu, not two" thing may be a curveball.

CALLED IT!!!

Kishi should've just revealed Tobi's identity in this chapter. He made it quite obvious that it's Obito. Unless... IT'S JUST OBITO'S EYE AND BRAIN AND THE REST OF TOBI'S BODY IS SEWN TOGETHER FROM OTHER PARTS!

*shrugs* In any case, he definitely has Obito's eye. I think his technique comes from a full-fledged, self-aimed version of Kamui.

Guys, I take back my Obito theory. I herpderp forgot about Tobi's fight with Minato (no friggin way he could take the HOKAGE only a year or so later) and that he gave Nagato the Rinnegan.

It's not Obito.

He probably just had Obito's memories transferred with the Sharingan or some BS (that thing has more abilities than Sage Mode, it's ridic).

I'll stick with the simple "the author wont ever reveal Tobi's identity"

Because that would be the ultimate trolling

That's not trolling, that's being a bad writer who can't tie ends up.

When a series ends, there shouldn't be anything major left to figure out. That makes it seem like there's more to come when there isn't/

Also, it's probably Madara's Rinnegan. I didn't think of it until just now when I saw the theory on another site.

Orochimaru could have implanted Obito's brain/soul whatever in Madara's body, (or rebuilt Obito with Madara's body.) Sasuke did say Orochimaru had all the answers.

Orochimaru wasn't the one who knows everything, he only knows how to get in touch with them.

Assuming that Obito's eye is the one Tobi is using, imagine how powerful Obito would've been. He would be able to use Kamui and be able to "phase" through attacks. And as we see it, the "phase" ability isn't even from a Mangekyou Sharingan.

Yep, we already know that Obito had the potential to be an amazingly powerful shinobi just from kakashi's use of his Sharingan.

Lol I was saying that same thing... His visual jutsu would have been the best. Obito is boss

But wait... If Kakashi has Obito's other eye, shouldn't he be able to phase through things like Tobi? Or does it depend on how he uses it?
