[spoiler=If You Need Help Finding and/or Installing YVD, Click Here To Read My Official Guide.]Go to: http://www.xerocreative.com and go to the Downloads section and download the latest YVD version for whatever kind of System you run (Windows or Mac).

Then install.

Then go back and download the images. It should be a RAR or ZIP file depending on which program (WinRAR or WinZIP respectively) you have installed. WinZIP should come standard in Windows...if it's not, Google it. I'm actually not sure what programs Macs use to extract files.

Now here is where alot of people (and I mean nearly everyone in Duel Academy) f***ed up.

Extract the main "allimages" folder to your desktop FIRST. Then, there are folders inside of it that are coded for each booster pack that the card images go for. Take ALL of those folders and go to:

My Computer > Program Files > Yugioh Virtual Dueling > images

and place them all in there. Then load up the program. And you're ALMOST done.

As for dueling, we use the TCG version of YVD. You can tell the difference simply by going to the Start Menu and looking for the YVD folder. There are 2 start ups. A normal one, and one that says (OCG Mode)...obviously, pick the one that doesn't say (OCG Mode).

Before you make your Deck, look at the top left corner of the Deck Menu. There should be a button called "Update Sets". Click that button and select which Mode you're using (TCG, OCG) and then click "Check for Updates". If it says there are updates, click "Install". If not, then you're all ready to duel.

Make your deck and click the big "Duel" button. You can also save your deck before dueling by clicking the "Save Deck" button on the left side of the menu.

Now when you want to duel someone.....We use Server Dueling. Which means our duels take place on Xerocreative's server. This is alot safer than the optional IP dueling because you'd end up sharing IP addresses and things could get messy. When you get to the Dueling Field, look to the left and you'll see a white bar with text in it. Click that bar and dueling options will come up. IP and Server dueling....and another option that I'm not sure about. Talk to your opponent first to see who is going to Host the duel and who is going to connect to the host. Then click either "Server Duel HOST" or "Server Duel CLIENT" respectively.

Then a small menu will come up asking for a login. You make your Xerocreative "Account" right there. Just type in the Username you want and the password and click "Verify". Remember the info because this will be the account you use to duel from now on. Then below that bar is another one. There, you need to type in the Username of the person you want to connect to. It is Case-Sensitive so be sure to type it right or you may end up connecting to an entirely different person XD

After that, everything is done by mouse click. Drawing, playing, discarding, milling, etc is all done by mouse click. There is also a text box below the duel field that keeps track of moves made by both players and also keeps track of what you and your opponent say to each other.

That's about it. I hope you enjoy YVD.

Also, some other things you should know. In the Deck Menu, look at the top left corner and you'll see a "Settings" button. You can click that to customize your Dueling Field image, change your Dueling Display name, and other stuff. Make sure you change your display name to what you want. If you don't, you'll be referred to in duels as "Newbie" by default.[/spoiler]

Following legendhiro's disappointing leave and the collapse of the TRUE Duel Academy, I have taken my right as Co-Leader to remake the academy into what it SHOULD have been.

[spoiler=The New Student Registration Process][b](The New Student Registration Process)[/b]
[b]NOTE!!!![/b]- All Completed Steps Must Me Sent To Me In a Private Message! DO NOT POST THEM HERE!!

My Registration is a 3 Step Process.
[b]Step 1 - Create a Custom Card.[/b] It will be graded on it's quality. OCG, Picture, balance, etc.
[b]Step 2 - Build a Deck.[/b] Create a deck list of any cards from the Yugioh TCG OR OCG. It will be graded on how well it can fare in a game.
[b]Step 3 - A duel with me.[/b] I HOLD BACK ON NO ONE! I was legendhiro's top ranked Blue and for good reason!
NOTE: If I cannot duel, you may duel with either [b]Kira[/b] or [b]DarkHorse21[/b]

Once all 3 steps are finished, your total grade will decide what dorm you will belong to.

[b]LOOPHOLE:[/b] Due to the various PMs i've recieved concerning dueling issues, I have decided to allow Student hopefuls to SKIP Step 3. However, you still have to complete the first 2 Steps. Also, no matter how good you do on the first 2 Steps, you will Automatically be put into Slifer Red. So it's time to weigh your pros and cons :P[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Dueling at the Academy][b](Dueling at the Academy)[/b]
Dueling will not take place on this topic. It can occur on 1 of 2 places. Either via IM (MSN, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) or the Yugioh Virtual Desktop program.

All duels must be reported to me via Duel Log on YVD. Unless IM is used. In order to do this, before dueling with your opponent, look below the Connection Method Bar. There should be a White Box with "Log Duel" next to it. Make sure that box is checked. Then once the duel is over, go to My Computer > Program Files > Yugioh Virtual Dueling > Logs. Find the log that was created. Now go back into the Main Folder and go into the "Utilities" folder and activate "Log Reader.exe" and use it to read the duel log. Now Copy and Paste everything inside the log into a PM and send it to me.

IMPORTANT: Duels will only be graded if both duelists used decks that have been registered in their names in this academy. To register a deck(s) just send me a PM will the complete listing of all cards.

All graded duels will appear here as Wins/Losses/Draws respectively. Along side how many Deamons/Ancients/Stardusts that duelist has defeated, represented as D/A/S respectively. Duel benefits will vary depending on that duelist you won against. ie: You're more likely to benefit from beating an Stardust than a Deamon.

[spoiler=Dorm Descriptions][b](Dorm Descriptions)[/b]
There are 3 Dorms. Deamon Dragon Red, Ancient Fairy Yellow, and Shining Stardust Blue.
Deamon Dragon - You're either Brand new to Yugioh or...you need much more practice.
Ancient Fairy - You're expirienced at what you do, but you can still improve.
Shining Stardust - The Highest Rank. True masters of Dueling and such are here.

I have also created a new system. Each dorm has 3 of it's own classes.
[b]Freshman[/b] - Brand new to the dorm. All new students start at this level, regardless of what dorm you belong to.
[b]Expirienced[/b] - You've been in the dorm a bit and know your role.
[b]True[/b] - You're the "Messiah-like" person of the dorm. You're on the brink of being promoted to the next dorm.

You can level up in those positions depending on your Dueling Record, Grades, etc.[/spoiler]

If you can't do YVD, we can always do it over IM. We can just use YVD as a guide. We can start up YVD and play with the decks without connecting to each other.
