David briefly glanced at the new arrival and couldn't resist a smirk. "If by 'lab' you mean a completely barren room with a square of sunlight...then yes." He turned his attention back to the doctor and raised his hand without a trace of embarrassment. "Same thing as the nerdy kid. No offense." He paused and decided that the suffix to his statement wasn't really an adequate apology, "Sorry."

(OOC: Yeah, sure, go ahead. Considering I haven't bothered to add your app to the Personalities Spoiler yet, it's no skin off my nose, heh.)

Markus blinked, and scratched the back of his head. "Erm... apology accepted?" He said off-offhandedly. The Doctor blinked, then flashed another smile. "Byron! How good of you to make it. I suppose you could call this room my lab... of sorts. Being a Doctor of Psychiatry, the differences are evident between a Doctor of Science or Doctor of Medicine's laboratory, but they function the same; to understand and learn your field."

There was a new kid in the room. And from the looks of him, Jac didn't get a good feeling. He seemed aloof, but almost self-assured. Cocky, really. There wasn't any better way for her to describe it, and although she wasn't the best people person, there was a nagging undercurrent of a feeling that said that he was going to be trouble. However, that was just personal bias. Shaking her head to dislodge the unease, the French girl turned to who she mentally referred to as "The Good Doctor."

"So, Doc. Do I have your permission to, well, show off a bit?" Giving a sly grin, she only hoped that the man would grant her little desire. There was a real hunger to blow something up right now, and Jac would be more than happy to satisfy it.

James looked at roschach. "Strange". James and Vitex, his superego, thought. "I don't think it's possible for a superego to be without a master. When you first astral projected and I met you I felt myself being called into existence, I can't remember anything before that. Strange." "So?" James thought "You are just one superego of possibly hundreds. How would you know if it were possible to exist without a master?"

"So, Doc. Do I have your permission to, well, show off a bit?" A girl said, grinning. James was reminded that there was, infact, other people in the room. He would be scanning right now, but as the doctor said, He couldn't read the minds of other ESPers or the doctor himself.

OOC: I've been away for a few days now, sorry

OoC: Wow. o_0 I leave you guys for a day and you add 2 pages! Time to do some super catch up!

IC: Heikichi saw the strange shape of energy that dwelled in the small square of light. Unlike what the others said, Heikichi did not see a 'ball' of energy. It took a shape of a small bird, sitting on the floor, sleeping. He got a little closer to it and the little bird reacted and started to flit around the square of light to which it was confined to. Heikichi gave out a little giggle at the little bird. Then, the doctor asked everyone about astral projection. Heikichi raised his hand.

"Umm...Seinheim-sensei, about the astral projection thing...I think I can do that..."

Seinhem chuckled. "'Show off'? I certainly hope that doesn't mean shoot up more towers, Jacqueline." He smiled at all the ESPers. "Well, in that case, if you all have extra, energy, I have something for you to do."

He searched through his pocket, before pulling out five scraps of paper. "I have, written here, directions to five... 'obstacles', me and Rorschach have set up before hand. You'll need to be Astral Projected to see, and destroy them. Think you're up to the challenge?" He said with a smirk.

He turned to the rest. "Don't worry if you can't Astral Project on your own yet, my and Rorschach will help you, and you'll pick it up quickly enough."

OoC: The receptionist should direct you down a hallway, which leads to stairs, which leads to this room. Read past pages to get the descriptions.

David blinked at the doctor in surprise, but nodded. "I do have a question. Is what we're attempting safe? What sort of obstacles...scratch that, I'm sure you'll explain that part without badgering." With that note, he shot a meaningful look at the overaggressive boy and the overinquisitive girl, both of which had annoyed him by being so impatient.

Seinhem chuckled, and fiddled with his glasses, causing them to reflect the light for a moment. "The obstacles are... safe in a manor of speaking, that is. We want you to learn, not to die. I recall the girl asking about an enemy... call these obstacles your 'Enemies' for now. Your objective is to destroy them in any way you can, using any method you can. You can team up on one if you wish, just make sure you destroy it. The obstacles will try to hurt you, but keep in mind, they aren't real. Any blow from them that would kill you, I've specifically put safeguards in for. Instead, they will send your Astral Spirits back to Rorschach here, who will safely return them to your bodies. They can still hurt you though, with nonlethal blows; However, as you are in Astral Form, any injuries you may take will disappear when you return to your body."

He smirked, and flicked his lab coat a little. "As for rules... Destroy the obstacles any way you like, but DO NOT HURT ANYONE. Any civilians or eachother, that is. Avoid collateral damage, also. ESP while in Astral Form can damage real objects if you do not control it. Note that the Obstacles are not visible to normal people, and won't be able to hurt them, nor will they damage real objects.

Secondly, beat them quick. If you get all five before sundown, I'll rustle you all up some dinner, eh?" He said good-naturedly. "Finally, have fun with it. This is just training now, better to slip up now, rather than later, eh?" He said with a smirk. He took out the scraps of paper again.

"Here's the papers. They'll tell you where to find each."

The first slip was written in normal typewriter font, and had the following text- "I ain' the Godfather, and this ain' the big city, but youse can still find me over in Jose' Italian Eatery. Be prepared for Chicago Lightning, ya'punk."

The second was written in a more spidery, though still legible font; "Only one without Wisdom would be fool enough to fight me. He who still believes they have the Courage to face my Power shall find me in the Macbain Church's Steeple."

The third was written in square, blockish, computer-like font- "He who believes their power can exceed the Darkness and would care to die, would find their demise on the West city Docks..."

The fourth was written in blotted, black font, as if someone were using a burst pen while writing;"It would be a shame for those at Hope Hospital to fall prey to a more deadly illness..."

The final was written in standard, arial text It was quite odd;

"Given x = your life, and y= myself,

the function (y-x) = At the top of The Sallow Skyscraper."

"Well, let's get crackin'!" Jac was quite excited about these developments, and wanted to get started immediately. Settling into a comfortable position and closing her eyes to concentrate, the girl began to enact her method of projecting, which she liked to call "jumping". In her mind, it was like making a big leap, but instead of up or down or to the left or right, it was "out". Kinda hard to explain, really, and it was somewhat uncomfortable; Jac could only describe it as being pulled through a tight rubber tube. However, it didn't last long, and when it was over, she saw herself hovering above her seated body.

Ecstatic about her success, Jac flew over the doctor's head, boots softly whirring as they carried her there. Her cannon was firmly chained to her right hand, and the ray that accompanied her was curled up in her short blond hair. Reading them over quickly, she quickly figured out which one she wanted. "Hey, guys!" she yelled. "If you can hear me, I'll take the first one, and I call it! None of you catch up, 'cuz I'm flying solo!" Flying out of the ceiling, the French girl began to head in the general direction of the restaurant, which she had seen on the ride over. 'This'll be fun.'

Seinhem chuckled. "It's easy." He walked over to David, and waved over Markus. After they got together, he put his arms over both. "Now, just close your eyes and focus on your ability... like you're trying to move something with your mind, or read someone'd mind. Just focus... after a while, you should see Rorschach. When you can clearly see him, try to pull at him with your mind... he'll do the rest."

Markus frowned as he focused. He did as he was told, but he still couldn't see anything. Suddenly, he paused. He saw a pinprick of golden light, that seemed to get bigger. It turned into a shape. It was... a bird? He cocked his head slightly, and the bird did likewise. He mentally shrugged, and pulled at it...

...and was surprised when it pulled back, hard. He felt like he was yanked by a chain, and blinked when he looked around and saw... his body, crumpled on the floor.

He panicked a little.

David nodded seriously and closed his eyes to focus. After a while, he began to see light. Seeing that as a good sign, he focused harder, the light slowly getting larger and forming as a bird. David twitched when he heard something fall over, but retained his concentration and tried to mentally pull at the bird.

A strange yanking sensation hit him and he opened his eyes in shock. He felt around his stomach, but the sensation at faded. Bemused, David turned to look around and saw both his body and the 'nerdy kid' were slumped over. The doctor had seemingly allowed them to topple over like dominoes. Wait...how could he see his own body?

"What." was the only thing he could manage.

Heikichi sat down on the floor and focused for a few seconds, then he felt the familiar whooshing sensation. When he opened his eyes, he found himself floating outside his body. He was quickly greeted by a little fairy, who glomped him from behind.

"Hei-chan! You're back!" said the litte fairy, still hugging Heikichi. After Heikichi managed to removed Kipo from him.

"Kipo-chan, we have somewhere to go for Seinheim-sensei."

"Who is Seinheim-sensei?"

"He's that man over there. He works with the government and he wants me to go to the...Hope Hospital?"

"Where's that?"

"We've been there before remeber? My parents always bring me there!"

"Oh yea...Ok then! Let's go!"

Kipo sped through the wall with Heikichi following close behind.

James closed his eyes, consentrating. He was still standing when he opened his eyes, but his body was lying behind him. Vitex appeared on his shoulder and James held out his hand and pulled a sword out of an invisible sheath, then a locket appeared around his neck and he flew off, following Heikichi. He thought the the boy might need some help.

Seinhem smiled a little bit at Markus and David when they successfully appeared. Rorschach, completely visible to the Astral-form ESPers in the form of a small yellow bird, sat on his shoulder, twittering slightly. He waved after James, Heikichi and Jacqueline left, chuckling slightly to himself. He turned to Markus and David, wringing his hands a bit. "Well, this is Astral Form. A few things... you're like a ghost in this shape. You can move through solid objects, and can't be hurt usually. But..." He added, "Make sure you remember that. If you somehow trick your mind into thinking you can still be hurt, you can still be killed from being hit by a bus. It won't hurt you, but the shock might."

Markus nodded slightly, calming down. He felt his neck for a second, and blinked when he realized there was cloth there; A large red scarf covered his neck and lower jaw, and it seemed to trail back like it was held by some nonexistent wind.

David nodded and looked himself over. He appeared to be precisely the same as normal, except for some reason he was also wearing some sort of black cape-like garment over his back. He noted that it had a hood, but that part of it was hanging behind his back. Like the kid near him, he noticed a blue scarf tied comfortably around his neck and chin. For what purpose these clothes had or where they had come from, he did not know.

"Hm," he murmured, tugging at the scarf absently. "Solid object can't hurt us, but if we forget that, we could scare ourselves to death. Bit of an embarrassing way to die." He felt nervous, but excited at the same time. This was all new to him, but the possibilities of such an experience excited him. However, he was unsure whether he was secure in exploring said possibilities without either a mentor or a companion, just in case. So far, of all the other kids he had met here, the one closest to him was the least grating and seemed as new to the experience as he was.

"Hey um..." David clicked his fingers together, searching his memory for either a name or a description unlikely to offend the 'nerdy kid'. "Okay, seriously, I have no clue what your name is."
