=3 Anyway, I know you already know, but I'd like to immortalize my victory over Ran by posting it here:

xD And it only took me like.....okay, I didn't count, but it was probably around 10 or 11 tries. I'll post a replay as soon as I get my compy going. =3

 

That means she's (technically) the Second Extra Boss I've beaten. xD altohugh Rika from SoEW is so pathetically Easy that I don't think it counts. Seriously, at MAX, I'd put Rika as a Weak Stage 5 Boss (like Sakuya in EoSD, or Reisen in IN). But she's probably closer to Stage 4 level. and since she's an Extra Boss, you can't even raise her difficulty xD

 

Anyway, Flandre is still kicking my ass, but I only got to her for the first time TODAY. I'm gonna keep trying till I beat her. Or at least, I WOULD, but I only beat Ran because my friend let me use his compy today....so, yeah.

So, I'm pretty sure I've determined the fates of all the PC-98 characters, and where they went.

 

Everyone in HrTP: Aside from Mima, every enemy in that game was basically a spirit within the shrine, so they needn't be mentioned again. Although Sariel was an Angel of Death. Have no idea what she was even DOING there. xD

 

Rika(ko): Fans think Rikako from PoDD is just Rika with a slightly diferent name and a disguise - although I think maybe they're just related, since their personalities were pretty different. Anyway, they were likely reincarnated as Nitori, for engineering.

 

Meira: She was kind of cool. But really, only because she had swords. One-dimensional otherwise. Pretty sure the sword part became Youmu.

 

Mima: There hasn't been a single character so far like her. Sure, there've been other ghosts, other "oh hai Reimu" characters, other "evil" characters, and other powerful caracters, but Mima has all of those aspects in one package, and portrays them all uniquely. Needs to reappear.

Ellen: ....Okay, seriously. She's an absent-minded, love-struck version of Marisa. She's probably immortal, and has lived a long time, and yet she has barely any personality. Her childishness and Absent-mindedness likely became Rumia. Her Marisa-ness just get left alone, seeing as how Marisa already existed.

 

Kotohime: Kotohime is a princess, who is not quite right in the head, and thinks she's a cop. Setting her partial insanity aside, she probably became Kaguya - they're both princesses, they dress in very, very similar styles, and even their Theme songs are similar (Lunatic Princess and Maniacal Princess). If Kaguya thought she was a cop, it'd be a mirror image.

 

Kana: Let me start by saying I just like her. She's a poltergeist. Some might think she was reincarnated as the Prismrivers, but I doubt it - the Prismrivers are three happy-go-lucky musical ghosts, Kana is...melancholic. She has a sad backstory like the Prisms, but her character itself portrays a sad aura about her. She's actually pretty unique.

Her theme song is also kinda melancholic in nature. She reminds me a little bit of Medicine. Especially because they were both abandoned. Anyway, I would like it if she reappeared, but I won't push for it, since I doubt she could find a role.

 

Yumemi & Chiyuri: I think we've been over this. Setting aside the possibility of a UFO appearance, these two are unique. They have an interesting working relationship (I haven't seen a pair of Mistress/Subordinate so far where the Mistress is intentionally antagonistic toward the Subordinate). Yumemi's personality alone is unique in Gensokyo (can you say moodswing?), and there aren't any other Scientists in Gensokyo (Nitori is an engineer).

These two NEED to reappear.

Orange: I don't need to say much. She bacame Meiling. They look almost exactly alike. They act alike. And they're both Chinese.

 

Kurumi: The only real difference between her and Koakuma was that Koakuma didn't talk. They were both low-grade vampires who assisted someone of a higher station. Fanon tends to portray Koakuma and Kurumi very similarly, too. However, ZUN can't be blamed for that, so for all intent and purpose, Kurumi is still a separate character.

So that just means she doesn't need to reappear.

 

Elly: Lol. She probably got reincarnated partially as Meiling, but mostly as Komachi. Buuuut.... there is that one small flare of unique childishness. She isn't really LAZY persay. Just kinda down on her luck. If Yuka gets more attention in future titles, then Elly might get a shot.

Otherwise, no, she won't reappear.

Yuka: Has already reappeared. Still though, she's like Mima - she has plenty of aspects which some other characters have, but combines it together in a very unique package. Quiet Evil, Psycho with an ON button, Tea-lover, Sagely observer, powerful villain, she's got all that. Needs another game to appear in. xD

 

Sara: Her straightforward personality and determination makes me think her personality probably became Youmu's.

 

Luize: Oddly enough, she reminds me of Yukari. Just in her manner and her whimsical nature. It's possible. xD

 

Alice: We don't need to go here. xD

 

Yuki and Mai: Kinda unique in taht you never fight two people at once. But they're also pretty unimportant. A little similar to the Aki sisters. A little.

 

Yumeko: Okay, I'm convinced. Yumeko IS Sakuya. o.o Okay? So we don't need to discuss this.

 

Shinki: One of the powerful entities in Touhou, it's understandable for her overlokkedness. She lives in Makai. Why would she be anywhere else? Could possibly get a new appearance, but not likely.

They have less personality than MEIRA. At least SHE had a clearly defined goal. xD

 

 

Also, coincidentally as it is, all my favorite PC-98 Theme Songs belong to my favorite PC-98 characters.

 

xD or was that part of the reason they became my favorites? Who knows.

And I agree. The majority of PC-98 music was very so-so. But Those favorite 10 tracks from the PC-98 series are awesome. A few of them are some of the ebst in the whole series (in my opinion at least).

Komachi is too lazy.

 

Parsee is too busy being jealous of everyone.

 

Utsuho is an idiot.

 

And I've never read the UFO translations, so I don't know about Ichirin.

 

Aya is a maybe.

 

 

Also, me and Sakuya came to the conclusion a while ago that there are no men in Gensokyo.

xD Utsuho is because she prolly wouldn't let herself be bottomed. Even if she IS an idiot.

 

Parsee just doesn't seem very feminine. xD she's another character I thought was a boy when I first saw her.

 

And I guess you're right about Komachi.

 

I think Ichirin is a bit boyish in behavior, so yeah.

 

 

But if there are no men, how is anyone born? xD

 

 

....Suwako gave birth at one point. Dx It's weird to think about someone who looks so childish giving birth.
