A little competition for Megamorph? [disc]

Listen.

If you Attack directly with Subroid' date=' it will only ever do 800 damage.

Explaining again (even though two other people already did) for emphasizing and being more clear.

This card can attack your opponent directly. If it does' date=' any Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent becomes the original ATK of this card. You may switch this card to Defense Position at the end of the Damage Step.

The bolded part, as you explained, means that any damage that submarineroid does through direct attacking by its effect, will be equal to it's ORIGINAL ATTACK. As we all know, Submarineroid has an original attack of 800. Hence, when it attacks directly with its effect, it does 800 damage.

Now, here's an imaginary situation:

If Submarineroid's attack was 1000 (as if it's printed on the card as 1000), it means that it's original attack is 1000. So when it attacks directly with its effect, it does 1000 damage.

While your Life Points are lower than your opponent's' date=' the equipped monster's original ATK becomes 2400. While your Life Points are higher than your opponent's, its original ATK becomes 1000.[/quote']

Took a closer look at Unstable Evolution.

While your Life Points are lower than your opponent's' date=' the equipped monster's original ATK becomes 2400.[/quote']

Closer;

the equipped monster's original ATK becomes 2400.

Specifically:

original ATK becomes 2400.

Indeed' date=' Unstable Evolution changes the original ATK of the equipped monster, in this case -- Submarineroid.

By changing its original ATK, it is basically [b']rewriting[/b] the ATK printed on the monster card. Totally forgetting the value printed, cross it out, write 2400 ATK in place of Submarineroid's 800 ATK.

Now, what did Submarineroid's effect say? "becomes the original ATK of this card."

What is the original ATK of Submarineroid with Unstable Evolution equipped?

2400.

What is the amount of damage done with Submarineroid directly attacks your opponent with its effect?

2400!

tl;dr ver - readlol.

If you can explain to me why this combo does not work, feel free to explain, I will listen to you. Please do not just reply with "no u, subroid does 800 forever!". Thank you.

By the way, it's nice how Submarineroid can change to DEF position after attacking, and possesses a nice 1800DEF. It can be annoying. Though nowadays it's not going to survive for more than a turn with all those removals and field nukes.

Megamorph's only use is like, OTKing.

Acording to lolwiki' date=' it still deals 800 damage <_<

Then again, in lolwiki, they only adressed Axe of Despair over the issue, which does not change the original ATK. This Equip Spell, however, does.

Misleading opening sentence. :|

Also, when your life points are higher, you can lower your opponent's monster to 1000ATK and run over it, lololol! [/bad, situational combo] Anyways, the more uses a card has, the better it is, right? :P
