~Makaveli~
First off this tut is to make simple sigs with Gimp so they aren't gonna be all complicated because this is just for people who want to make Sigs but don't know where to start. I made this tut for people who are new to making Sigs and want to become good Sig makers. OK first off there you are gonna need a few things. 1.) All Sigs made on this tut are from gimp you don't have to use gimp with it but that's what I'm gonna use. 2.) The Brushes I will be using today are imported from 'Deviantart' if you wish to learn how to import brushes I have a tut coming soon on how to. List of Brushes 1.'mtlcxsparkle' Brush 3.) You will need to pull up a new white colored canvas 400 by 150 pixels. 4.) And the final thing you will need to make a Sig is a Render. This is the render I will be using thanks to 'Planet Renders' Now time to get started! 1st.) Let's open up Gimp to a 400 by 150 pixels canvas. Now use the bucket to change the canvas to the color of choice. Today I will be using the color black for my canvas. You don't have to pick black you may pick what you want, but that is what I will be using.
2nd.)Now click 'Ctrl + o' or go to File, and then open and open the render you selected. 3rd.) Now we need to crop the image and paste it to the canvas so press 'Ctrl + X' to cut the render or go to 'Edit, and go down until you see cut. Cut the render out and paste it onto the canvas by pressing 'Ctrl + V' or by clicking edit and clicking paste. IT should look like this.
Now the image might be a little big so press 'Ctrl + T' to resize until your happy. Your result should somewhat look like this.
4th.) Now after you resize your Sig cut the image again because you'll need it later. 5th.)Now this is where you are gonna use those brushes Like I said before. Read the list above to see the list of brushes I used in this Tut. But before you use the brushes you want the Sig to have good color flow so your gonna select your color picker and take one of the main colors of the image and left click the image to suck the color(s) of choice. I will be using Naruto's Orange jumpsuit for the color.
So Paste your image back to the Canvas and do as instructed above. this is what it should look like so far.
You can see that I took the orange color from part of Naruto's Shoulder. 6th.)Now once again we cut the render so you have a clear canvas to work with. press 'P' or click the paint brush in your tool box and pick one set of Brushes to start off with. Now left click the brush you have chosen on the canvas and make it in patterns or whatever looks good. For this tut I randomly put the brushes in places but I made it so it looks good. For that instant I used the 'mtlcxsparkle' Brush, but feel free to use what ever brushes you want to make it look good. Here was my outcome.
IF you want to you can go to Brush options and chance the mode to whatever looks best to you. 7th.)Now once you are happy with your painbrush'ing go Right click the Canvas and scroll down to filters and mess around with the options if you want until you happy with the result, or you want or you can keep using your brushes whatever you want. Once you are sure you canvas is done your gonna paste you image down to the canvas but don't anchor it yet. GO to layers and change the mode of the Render until you think its goes good with the canvas. You may also anchor it down and put another layer of the Render but on a different mode on-top of it, or whatever looks good. For my Sig I put a Grain merge on the render anchored it down and put another on-top of it but I turned the Opacity down to 15.8 , but like I said put it to what ever makes you happy. This is what my Sig looks like.
8th.) OK to wrap up the Sig you might want to give it a different color or something. So click the Blend tool in your tool box.
The most important thing to remember is to put the mode on HUE so you can blend the colors.
9th.)GO to File, Save As. And make sure to save it as a PNG!!! This is the outcome of my Sig. But this is just a simple Sig for GFX n00bs and other people who want to make Sigs but don't know how to. FINAL STEP!!! 10th.) Give your self a pat on the back because you made a Sig! ~REPS Appreciated~
CrazyKev
It's probably easier to make it on pic instead of 10 =/Nice tutorial though, easy, and not a bad outcome for beginners.

Mehmani
How heck do you use deviant brushes and how to download em. You click the download button and save them to your computer as a WinRAR .rar file, then extract the brushes to the 'Brushes' folder in the 'GIMP 2.6' folder. Anyway, this is a great tut for GFX n00bs, like you said. Thanks LT!
