Akira
What do you think is the most useless school subject that you could never see yourself making any good use out of later in life and why? I won't list them as poll options because different schools have subjects that others don't do etc. inb4 Religious Studies, that's a given. I never really saw much point in History of Art. I mean, what are you going to become after studying that? One of those tour guides who goes around a museum with old people talking about Renaissance paintings? Flash Flyer - Sakura
For me, it's AVID, because although it's "college prep course", doesn't help me.

I'm sure History of Art is an interesting subject, I just don't see many careers evolving from it.

Tekken Ham
Freshman Seminar. Hands down. Team Sports I and II are also pretty dumb, considering it's just running around playing dodgeball, basketball, or volleyball. That being said, it's the best class to take when you don't have anything else to take.

Infinitus
Geography- Reasons stated by Force_Flex History of Art- For those who want to be artists, so they can get inspiration from past artists Physical Education- To keep people in shape Drama- For those who want to be actors Philosophy- To help people decide on what they believe is the truth behind the creation of everything. Also, to possibly encourage kids to also explore the truth behind the creation of everything. I don't believe in useless subjects. I believe all are important. Tkill93
Ethics and Art. Oh how I hate the teachers of both those subjects. Mostly my ethics teacher, she is a moron. Ethics class is a joke where the only good opinion is hers, and being honest will get you no where. Your stuck conforming to her opinion. It's funny because she thinks it's a real class. Amethyst Phoenix
I think we all know that physical education doesn't work worth a damn to curb the obesity problem etc. It's a waste of a period. I go to class to learn not dick around in a field. I actually enjoyed Religious Studies. I'm not sure what courses you took, but mine had history in it. And I mean real history, such as the crusades, the corrupt popes, the protestant reformation, etc. We learned about the history of the church, which was actually pretty interesting. There was the political gambits to gain favor with the church, in depth discussion about the torture methods used on the enemies of the church, it was all very interesting. And later courses teach about other religions and compare their beliefs with Christianity etc. It's not sitting in a desk for 90 minutes listening to an instructor preach (as I'm assuming most of you think). I didn't say it was working. Well, I guess it was an epic fail on the account of schools. But I guess for the fun of the students so they won't get overworked. I still don't think any class is useless. Although you are right, Religious studies are interesting. The history of Christianity we consider history, so we put it in history class. But we still learn about religious history, which is interesting.
