Dryad
The Saturday night sky was clear in the mortal world except for around the moon. Around the moon a thin line of clouds circled around it in an almost perfect circle to resemble that of an eye. The sounds of cricket chirps and Perrault's humming gave the nature path he was walking on a calming feel, the only thing missing was some fireflys to make it complete. The nature path was dark except for the moonlight that shined down. He knew full well winter was not a fan of him visiting the mortal world, but he thought they probably wouldn't mind if he strolled out in the night. Another reason he was out at night in the mortal world, was hunting for the "Mice" he called them. Relishing a old memory of the fattest one he ever slain, the duke of winter. The nature path ended to a parking lot. This parking lot was once home to a well known place to dine on cuissine and to get drunk. In this parking lot he could see near the kitchen's back door four overturned chairs, a unfinished bottle of some strange green liquid, some small pools that were a dark color near the chairs. His attention quickly diverted to a yellow truck, with a few men and one lady. "N-no! Don't! Somebody please! Please help me!" A voice that came from the lady. The men merely merely laughed in a mocking tone. Perrault took in a deep breath, enjoying the emotion of fear that came from the lady being harrassed. Invoked a bit of the wyrd to shelter his appearance, although he could not hide how his shadow truly reflected. The lady cried out again "Somebody Help Me!" although the men just laughed and began to do unspeakable things to her. Perrault being the gentlemen he is, ran towards the girl and grabbed her. "Hey who the ***k are you?!" Screamed one of three men. "Yeah what the hell does this ***ker want with her anyway?" Replied the second. "Look at how this guy dresses. He dresses from some weird time!" Said the third. "You demons! You mongrels! You dare harm a rose under this unfettered night sky!?" Perrualt yelled furiously at them with his blood boiling and moving back with the girl in his arms. "Okay ***ker. You earned yourself a one way trip to hell." The first said pulling out a gun. "Yeah!" Replied the second and third, as they pull out guns as well. The lady trapped in the middle of this was confused on her situation now and scared of either the thugs who were tormenting her or of the person who holds her now. Her heart was beating quickly from the amount of fear she was experiencing. Perrault began to run towards the nature path as the three men fired at him. One shot grazed his arm. Another shot him right in the back of the leg. Perrault wished to howl out in pain but swallowed it down the best he could to avoid further frightening the lady in his arms as he continued to run despite the pain, pushing his body to his limits. Running off the normal nature trail, he pushed his way threw the branches, past the trees. After running threw the nature area for what felt like an hour to him, he set her down inside the opening of a large oak tree. Her eyes were frantically looking back and forth as Perrault disappered then reappered and set some bushes and branches he found in front of the opening after he crawled in as well. After a few heavy breaths he asked her "Are you okay?". She did not reply. "Your shivering, here take my coat, it should make you feel warm." Perrault said softly with some heavy breaths and winces in between as he took off his coat and placed it over her. Silence filled the air. She could see him slightly in the small amount of moonlight that him. "Who are you and why did you help me?" She asked breaking the silence as her heart slowly stopped beating as fast as it did. "I helped.. because a rose was.. in trouble, as for my name.. it's not of... importance." Perrault replied resting yet in pain. "You should also consider getting some rest." She was a bit surprised from what he said "What about you? Your hurt and I doubt that sword beside you can save us if they find us." Perrualt looked over too his side seeing merely a mortal lady staring back. "Do not worry, I swear to protect you even if it costs my life, as you are a live precious too me." She rested her head against him. Feeling safe as she slowly began to dream.
