If you play properly it's awesome and it easily takes more skill than Yugioh if you're trying to get good.

did you catch caterpie instead of metapod. if you caugth a meta pod, then good luck with leveling up

I think Metapod is around Level 8. Yes, I caught a Caterpie instead of a Metapod.

Well i think Metapod will evolve at level 10.

To level up something like Metapod, just switch it out at the start of a battle then it will get half the exp. That, or you can give up and train something else because Buterfree is a terrible Pokemon.

It does evolve at Level 10, pretty early :D. I was thinking about getting a Beedrill has well, but I decided to pass on Weedle. Though I might go back and catch one.

Yeah well like Felix said, Buterfree and Beedrill are pretty bad pokemon.

Meh, they aren't going to be in my final team. I'll probably drop them by the second gym, but I sometimes do it earlier or later then that. Depends on how many Pokemon I have by then.

You should try to catch a Pikachu.

i beat firered and leafgreen with beedrill [infact if it wasnt for me teaching it hyper beam, i wouldve never made it through victory road]

I just remembered when I was still a n000b at pokemon, and when I first got FireRed, I only trained my starter. I remember I once beat the Elite four with like a Level 90 something Charizard, and everybody else around Level 10.

How do you train your pokemon? Do you keep them al at the same lv. or do you just train them as you catch them?

awesome, i raise pokemon with few weaknesses [thats why i taught my aggron in emerald thunder and surf. and i taught altaria earthquake and fire blast]

I usaully like to have all my pokemon around a certain level at a certain place. I like to have all my pokemon up around Level 20 in FireRed by the time I get to Brock. I try to train everyone I catch (except the bad ones) even if it takes me hours to do so.
