In my opinion the idea of immortality is perfect. I can't believe how many said no to it. In life goodbyes exist. So, why not make yourself immortal. It is better to look out for yourself anyway. If you could become immortal maybe you could make others immortal as well. After all, you discovered a way.

What if you were the only one who could become immortal? And more importantly, when and if the world ends, you will be alone. People want friends and people to be around. When the world ends, you won't have any. Plus, the sun expanding and causing the damage to the world would hurt. For everyone else it won't because death will be instant. But for you, nothing is instant.

Explosions= Pain

Bullets=Pain

Floating in space=Pain, because you wouldn't be able to breath, and that hurts

What I'm saying, is immortality=Never ending pain.

If I was immortal I wouldn't have to breathe. Secondly, by the time the world ends we will most likely have other planets to go to. Also, Immortality means that bullets wouldn't pierce the skin so zero pain and explosions wouldn't immolate the flesh so again zero pain. If you are immortal you don't take any damage. Pain is the body’s reaction to damage. So, immortality= zero pain.

No. Imortality means to live forever, that doesn't mean you are invincable. Check Wiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortality. It says nothing about no pain. You still feel pain. You just can't die.

I'd prefer having a more extended like (about 300 years), but I wouldn't want immortality.

It'd just be wrong, and you wouldn't be able to enjoy life after a while.

You'll lose the sense of time and see every loved one die.

How immortal are we talking here?

If I could be shot in the face and still live immortal, then that's a hell no.

If we're talking Ichor in the veins, lived forever and maintained youthful beauty and virility, yet being shot in the face for falling off of a cliff would still result in death, I wouldn't be so quick to pass it up.

I'd just take so many drugs, and I mean so many hallucinogens, tryptamines, until I finally understood consciousness to a desirable extent, and I got bored with the experiences, and then I would go write a book or two and off myself out of sheer boredom with all of reality.

OR

I'd live out life and make the best of the physical world, what it can provide for me, and when I get bored of that, start up with what my last block of text said.

Or if we're talking about immortality as the immortal soul, and not the immortal consciousness, that would also be cool.
