macro -> quilbolt loop?

dead draw

Recommended Posts

okay, we all know macro isn't as great as it used to be in today's metagame. all anyone has to do is side imperial iron wall and they screw up your whole deck. BUT!!! what if you could build a macro deck, filled with 25 cards that could work well in macro AND quilbolt loop, 15 cards based around macro, a side deck with 15 cards neccessary to the quilbolt loop, and after the 1st duel you switch up your whole deck theme. and if your opponent sided imperial iron wall and activates it, that's one less card you need for the loop! and even if you draw it before them, that's up to 3 dead draws your opponent now has in their deck! this idea doesn't have to use quilbolt loop, it's just an example. but this would be a good idea to suit macro themed decks to overcome imperial iron wall. sure, you could always side trap eater, but odds are your opponent did too, to get rid of macro cosmos. leaving them at a better spot to null macro than you are to be rid of imperial iron wall.

so... is this idea worth trying? or am i just wasting my time?

Nice idea, but another major weakness of Macro is that he can simply use s/t destruction to kill Macro, and if you're siding in your Royal Impregnable Fortress, you still have that weakness.

Also, you said that you could just run Trap Eater, and that your opponent could do so too, but if he does that, it's the same situation as with the s/t removal; same weakness.
