But when considering this, one must take into consideration that Goku had the benefit of training with numerous masters such as Grandpa Gohan, Roshi, and King Kai. Vegeta trained himself, with little if any help from that imbecile Nappa. I can be argued that when comparing these two fighters, that had Vegeta had the benefit of training with the same people that Goku had, Vegeta would easily defeat Goku. Goku dont win because he had more trainers obvously he had more potential from the start.
