This is it, the moment you were all waiting for.

 

Your new world

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 1]

 

 

“Now all I have to do is login right, oh well let’s hope this place is good”.

NAME: Nexis. PASSWORD: **********

LOGGING IN...

LOG IN Complete

Welcome to……

Your New World

 

“So this is it” said Nexis looking around him. He joined this place expecting a forum to spend his time in. He has heard tons of recommendations all over online boards how this place “perfectly combines elements of an online board and a game seamlessly into an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.” Whatever he read failed to remotely describe what he saw. A seemingly dead overpopulated wasteland. Sure it looked like they were having fun but it was obvious they were all nervous, afraid something would happen.

 

“Just like poultry, they don’t know where it’s going to come from.” So Nexis thought he should move around, learn you’re surrounding and you can always know what to do. A section called “CC Section” caught his interest. He could see all sorts of stalls and people roaming around just like a bazaar. “So this is where everyone moves around.”

 

So he entered, not caring to talk or respond to anyone. Merely scanning the place with his eyes. It was a place where people were showcasing their “art”. It seemed like cardboard paper, fairly popular. He saw them before but never really paid attention to them.

 

As he was moving he was noticing people activities, there were people arguing, laughing and mostly having a great time. He wondered if he could find people sharing his interest but realized that this place was certainly not the right place he has decided it would be better off just checking some other section that shared his interests until he realized the trouble he was in. He was lost, no matter how hard he tried there are still a few blocks missing from his memory. He tried tracing back his movements he just couldn’t find his way out.

 

He knew he had to ask someone there was a mixture of manly pride and fear of betrayal from someone that he just decided to do it himself. It didn’t take time for him to realize he could most probably get above the shacks and find a way out. Searching for a ladder he finds one and quickly climbs on it making as little noise as possible.

 

The architecture of the section was fantastic, the little shacks look so real and durable and he would face no problem getting out through free-running from on-top of the buildings. As he was running and closing to the huge wall fence which surrounds the area he noticed people on top of the buildings from quite a distance sitting. It wasn’t difficult to figure out that they were trolls, strong for him. Both were well built, about his height and seemed to be powerful.Nexis could make out that one was carrying a long sword while the other carried a shotgun with what seemed like a rather large bayonet attached to it. He increased his pace hoping he could get out of there sight but it seems they saw him and where following him, fast.

 

No matter how hard he tried Nexis’s level was just too low, he could never outrun them and he realized how flawed his idea was. The place was open, he can’t cut corners, dash and hide somewhere or even blend in. It seems they locked in on him and wouldn’t leave him. It wasn’t long before they caught up to him and surrounded him. He tried to dart but stopped couple of inches from the bayonet of the shotgun holder. Could this be the end of Nexis, he couldn’t believe it. Only a couple of hours have passed and he was already going to get terminated.

 

“Sorry I’m late for the party, Nexis”

 

 

What will happen to Nexis? Who are these two guys? What about the person who called Nexis by his name? Who or what is he?

 

All of that in the next chapter.

 

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 2[/b]]

 

...“Sorry I’m late for the party, Nexis”

 

“Who’s that?” cried the sword wielder.

 

All three were frantically looking around. The voice seemed unknown to the the two guys but who could it be? Nexis’s mind was already filled with questions; he never talked to anyone so how could he know his name? Could be a moderator? A hacker? Or just a guy with answers? Before starting to thinking of answers a he has heard a load whoosh above him and saw something resembling an eagle soaring from above him. In seconds he was on the ground and already engaged the sword wielder in battle of fists. It didn’t even take 5 seconds for the masked man to beat the sword wielder to a pulp. A punch to the stomach followed by an uppercut and a grapple involving lifting the guy and throwing him from the top to a stall beneath the opposite building.

 

A lot of people gathered around the stall, some checking if the guy was alright while the other were simply laughing or looking from where he came from. Meanwhile the man with the shotgun aimed and fired at the masked man. It was all so confusing and slow for Nexis. It’s like a foreign martial arts movie played on slow.

 

Somehow the masked man just disappeared away and was behind the guner in a second. He then lifted the guy from his back and leg and throws him at a tower besides us. Now that Nexis thought of it, it was possible that the masked man was standing there watching the whole chase.

 

After that the man just starts walking slowly jumping from building to building. Nexis struggled to follow him eager to find out answers to a lot of questions going on in his head. The fight was brief, almost over like a second but for Nexis it went forever.

 

“Uh, who are you?” asked Nexis as he struggled to keep up with the masked man who then slowed down and replied. “Just follow me.”

 

And follow him he did. Once they got out of the CC section and got down on the floor everyone’s eyes were fixed on the masked man, gossips were flying around and many people were hiding, cheering or just standing still. Even though it made Nexis both nervous and uneasy it had no effect on the masked man and Nexis knew he had to toughen up. As they were talking Nexis sprinted closer to the masked man who was now on his side and started walking vertically trying to muster up the courage to talk to him before asking.

 

“Who are you? Come on just tell me. I mean I don’t have to follow you so you either answer me or I’m leaving.”

 

“You won’t” replied the masked man followed by what felt like a sly wise-ass smile. Now that Nexis concentrated the man’s clothes look like nothing from what he saw on the catalog. He went through the whole downloadable manual and was now printed in his photographic memory but he still hasn’t seen anything close to it. He wore a long robe, light brown and his face wasn’t visible except for a portion of his mouth. The actual robe was pretty plain except for some kind of oriental design on the sleeves and the bottom. The lower part was slightly open, hardly revealing a pant which was difficult to make out.

 

“Oh yah? Watch this.” Replied Nexis, clearly agitated and angry though still trying to stay calm. “I don’t know who you are or what you are and even though you saved me back there I don’t owe you a thing.”

 

“But I do.” Said the man before stopping. “Listen just follow me and I’ll teach you a couple of things you need to learn before going out. This place is no joke, never was never will.” Nexis was clearly frozen, listening to what he said but deep down he was felling a cold chill running down his spine. He felt some kind of connection towards the man or something close to him. “Just follow me and soon you’ll have the power to not only defend yourself, but rule everyone else.” Continued the man.

 

“So your still not going to tell me what it is right?” asked Nexis. The man kept walking without paying attention to Nexis or to anyone else who were pointing their fingers and talking about him. “So I take it as a no, very well.”

 

Even though he was tempted to stop and ask someone who the man was he was afraid he’d lose him and after remembering his incident earlier he realized he can’t afford to stay alone. At least not for the time being.

 

He continued to follow him in what seems like an open space covered with mountains, he started thinking it must be a place connecting all the sections where all the noobs hanged out fearful of a fate he once meet. He didn’t find any description in the manual about the sections but he remembered an article which stated that the land connecting all the sections was a no killing ground. Perfect for noobs to get to a higher skill level before going out to the real world.

 

Nexis knew he should stay here until he got stronger but refused to act like a child scared of going out fearful of the bullies. He also knew that whoever the stranger was he was not only safe but he realized that he could teach him what he needed. In the end they both stopped near a mountain, perhaps the highest.

 

“Up.” Said the stranger.

 

“Up? Are you crazy? Even I know that this section is restricted for players. It says so in the manual.” Cried Nexis. He knew that the mountains were some kind of Outer Land. It is scripted but you just can’t enter there.

 

“Just follow me alright.” Replied the stranger in a calm voice that somewhat restored faith in Nexis and made him believe he could do it even though deep inside he knew it’s impossible.

 

He stood still wondering if the man could be a hacker, what if they were caught and the mods believed him to be one. He could get banned and his reputation throughout would be in the ground.

 

He looked up and noticed the man was climbing up the mountains. Nexis’s eyes widened, he could not believe what he’s seeing.

 

“The funk, how did you get up there?” Shouted Nexis.

 

“Just shut up and follow me alright.”

 

“Alright.”

 

Nexis closed his eyes and walked forward, legs shaking and his throat dry as the Gobi desert. He opened his eyes very slowly and to his surprise he was on the top of the mountain.

 

“What? How did I automatically get up her?”

 

“I carried you, can you believe how long it would have taken me if I had to wait for you.”

 

“Very well then, be quick or I’m leaving.”

“I sense something, something bad and dark. I fear it has awakened, we must stop It before It’s too late or…” Said a dark deep voice, covered in shadows and on top of a throne. “Raven, I trust you’ll take care of things right?”

 

“Yes Master. Anything else?” Answered Raven. She was wearing a dark red robe with a blue sign on the back of her robe though she was short and her voice was calm and sweet yet firm.

 

She was on the far right among a group of 7, all dressed in black robes alike. Each having a different symbol on the back with different colors as well.

 

“Very well then, you may leave.”

 

“Yes sir.” Shouted all, all except the male with a green symbol. Then they all left through a huge gothic door and it closed behind them.

 

“So you think she’ll do well?” said a strange voice from the room.

 

“She better.” Replied the man in black.

 

Who is the masked man? Is he a hacker, a mod or some anomaly? What happened between the man and Nexis? Who is the man in the shadows and who are these 7 that work for him? Who is Raven and what’s her job?

 

Will we find the answers to these questions in the next chapter?

 

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 3[/b]]

 

“Hey you, watch it.”

 

“Nexis paid no attention to the man as kept walking through the dead land. Everyone was looking at him, he seemed soulless, lifeless, dead as he walked. His eyes were wide open and his skin was pale as a ghost. He was thinking, still tring to make sense of what happened. Whatever it was, It was too powerful for him to handle all at once. He stopped and searched for a seat for him to sit in and relax.

 

He found a bench on his right in which he sat, closed his eyes and relaxed; hoping he would clear his mind and figure out what happened.

 

“Hey there” came a cheerful, feminine voice behind him.

 

“Whaaah?” Shouted Nexis as he opened his eyes and looked back of him. “Who the hell are… uh y-y-you?” stuttered Nexis, behind him was a women in a black dress with black hair and light blue highlights.

 

“Hello, how are you?”

 

“Um, fine. Who are you?”

 

“Oh, my name is Raven but everyone calls me Opal. You are?”

 

“Uhhh, Nexom. I mean Nexis, Nexis.”

 

“Haha, very well Nexis. May I set besides you?”

 

“Sure, Sure.”

 

And she sat there besides him, Nexis who was confused and shocked seemed to have forgotten it, only wondering about who the girl really is and if she is one of those the masked man warned him about? Whoever she was she certainly had her spell on him. He was never shy in front of women, well for most of the time but he felt something special about her.

 

“So who was he?”

 

“Uh?”

 

“The man you meet on the mountain, of course.”

 

“What? How do you know?”

 

“He’s a serious hacker we’re tracking. He suspected to have hacked and stole items and equipments from over a 100 user. Most recently a mod.”

 

“And you’re a mod too?”

 

“Nope. I’m a bounty hunter.” Replied Raven with a smirk as she turned and looked at Nexis.

 

“A what?”

 

“A bounty hunter, we get information from staff members and then “assist” them.”

 

“You mean do their dirty work right?”

 

“More or less.”

 

“And I’ll just tell you because?”

 

“Because I’ll give you credit and you’ll be on the moderator’s good side.”

 

“And you get the reward. Not interested.” Nexis replied firmly before getting up and moving away.

 

“Alright alright, split the money in half?” answered Raven. Nexis then stopped and when Raven saw this a smile appeared on her face.”

 

“I’m not interested in the money babe.” A face of shock was on Ravens face as he left her and kept moving. She stayed there and didn’t follow him as he moved towards the General section.

 

As he walked he started wondering about what he has done. He was told something like that would happen and that whatever the story was it was well, a lie. Well he knew he had to get in the General Section now whether he wanted it or not.

 

As he entered the General section all he saw were people fighting, arguing and shouting left and right. It was like a dump, a place were the only rules were that no rules existed. “Brutal, pointless and idiotic.” Just as the masked man told him. He remembered the man’s warning about being careful. Apparently this section was captured by a bunch of trolls and decided to break all rules as a form of protest against the lack of actions from the Administrators. Unsurprisingly their demands weren’t met as the Administrators’ didn’t really seem to care much and an ugly war took place call “The Rebirth”.

 

Apparently the then unorganized Moderating and staff team weren’t able to win the ugliest forum war. From the looks of things they never tried again.

 

As he walks through what seems like a path in between junk a sword from out of nowhere is blocking his path. Nexis only takes a second before swinging his arm in the direction of the sword wielder before a whip ties around his arms from the left and painfully stops his arms from moving further. Then a looming figure clears in front of him.

 

“Larxene, loosen up your grip on our friend right there.” Came a voice from the fog in front of him.

 

Looking up, Nexis notices a pretty though young looking girl. She loosens up the grip enough to let Nexis removes the whip that was wrapped around his arms revealing his bloody scarred hand. “Don’t worry, that should go in no time”, said the sword wielder in a rather thick voice followed by a laugh. Looking on the right Nexis sees a well built guy, taller than him and carrying a rather large sword. The figure clears up and reveals a guy, he looks small and innocent but Nexis knew there was something beneath that face of his.

 

“I’m Roxas, That right there is Larxene and this big guy right here is Zeaxeon but that’s not important right now.” Roxas said. “What’s more important is who are you?”

 

“No one you’re interested in, Roxas” Replied Nexis.

 

“Very well then wise guy. Finish him”. Roxas said with a sly smile on his face as he moves away while Larxene and Zeaxeon close in on Nexis. Nexis doesn’t move, the only change in expression is the grin on his face as he takes out his double sword.

 

“Twin Blades uh hon?” Said Larxene as she ties her whip around one of his swords while Zeaxeon leaps up high preparing to power smash Nexis with his huge sword yet Nexis doesn’t change his expression as he moves to the left, not only dodging Zeaxeon’s sword but using it to cut Larxene’s rope.

 

“You think that’s it for me babe? You have no idea.” Shouts Larxene as she runs preparing to punch Nexis who easily dodges her blows before dodging one of her hits, goes to kick Zeaxeon in the chin who was still getting his sword from the ground before hitting Larxene in the stomach with his elbows dropping her on the ground. Zeaxeon leaves his sword and then holds Nexis’s arms preparing to swing right to his sword before Nexon jumps and hits Zeaxeons stomach with his knee as he rests his free arm on Zeaxeon’s shoulder, who then backs up.

 

“How is he so strong” Larxene says fatigued as she stands on all four.

 

“It’s impossible for a noob” Screams Zeaxeon who’s holding his stomach, his face is twisted in pain.

 

“So he did it didn’t he” Roxas though “They said its forum rumors, they weren’t true but they are. He gave it to him, his little piece of Eden.”

 

“Alright guys, enough is enough. Let’s leave it to the Alpha Wolf and let him decide what happens. Follow me.”

 

“Not interested.”

 

“You should be.”

 

------

 

“So we’ll finally find the Alpha Wolf.” Said Raven, lurking in the shadows. “Master should be very proud now.”

 

------

And there he is, Nexis standing in front of the entrance of a huge cave guarded by two people on each side. The entrance resembles a long hallway lit with torches on each sides of the wall.

 

“Where here.” Said Roxas.

 

“So your Alpha Wolf is in here?” answered Roxas.

 

“Yes he is. I’m sure he’ll be pleased to see you, we’ve been waiting for you.”

 

“Yeah, I’ve been getting that a lot lately.”

 

 

Who’s Alpha Wolf? Who are Roxas, Larxene and Zeaxeon and what do the trio intend to do with Nexis? Who’s Raven and what does she plan?

 

Yes, I promise some answers next chapter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 4

 

“You see what I see?”

 

Yes I do, what has that got to do with why I’m here?” Replied Nexis.

 

“All of this, the whole world, can be yours.”

 

“For?”

 

“A favor.”

 

“I see. What is it?”

 

“I’ll explain it all later. Anyway I know it’s useless to ask seeing you’re new but have you ever heard of the ring of twilight?”

 

“No.”

 

“It’s a ring, never seen by anyone. A rumor, you can say, that used to be passed around long time ago. Some said it never existed while others say it’s with The Creator hidden up in his castle were he wears it and controls the land with it. It gives the wearer powers beyond imagination, powers, TO SURPASS THE SYSTEM.

 

Well, where it was is of the least importance as I have it.”

 

“Cool Story. And I should care because?”

 

“Because I’ll let you have it.”

 

“And the favor I have to do to get it is?”

 

“Nothing.” Says the masked man as he tosses a ring to Nexis who holds it with his right hand and wears it. “No catch, no price. It’s free, think of it as a gift to assist you in your journey.”

 

“And you’re parting with it freely because?”

 

“I never needed it. It was always meant for you. Mind you, you may be powerful now but its real powers won’t be unleashed yet.”

 

“When?”

 

“Not yet. Now I want you to go to the General Section. It’s a dump. Everything there is brutal, pointless and idiotic. There is a guy called Wolf, he rules the place there. I need you to go there and tell him I sent you. Beware though; the moderators will probably go after you now. I’m pretty sure The Creator has sensed the power you just got and will send someone to investigate. Trust no one outside the General Section.” Said the masked he approached the ledge.

 

“But how will I find you?”

 

“I will.”

 

“Well I don’t even know your name?”

 

“Altair.” And with that he jumped from the cliff and disappeared.

 

“What the funk?” Said Nexis as he ran towards the cliff before kneeling and slid stopping few inches from the cliff. Looking down he saw nothing below. People down all acted normal as if he just vanished into thin air. Then as he stood up he heard the voice of an eagle in the distance.

“Yeah, I’ve been getting that a lot lately.”

 

“Very well.” Replied Larxene who was leaning on the wall “Let’s move honey, the old fool is waiting for you.”

 

“GENERAL ZEAXEON!! GENERAL ZEAXEON!!” Came a shout from back, everyone turned around and noticed a man running towards them.

 

“What is it Star?”

 

“Death sir, death.” Muttered Star as he gasped for precious air.

 

“What the hell are you talking about Star?” Replied Roxas looking rather pissed.

 

“They’re advancing, the moderators. Sir I sent some men to gather the troops but we need you to lead us. The moderators seem like the mean business. I dare say their numbers match the number we fought in The Rebirth if not more.”

 

“Damn.” Said Zeaxeon thinking. “Go ahead Star and I’ll follow you with the rest of the XIII. Crap it’s not like them to attack out of the blue.”

 

“I’m sure we’ll kick there butt with one of your ideas Zeax.” Said Larxene in a rather excited manner.

 

“No Larx” Ordered Roxas “You lead…”

 

“Nexis is the name.”

 

“Very well, Nexis. Larx you have to take him to to Alpha Wolf.”

 

“But…”

 

“Not buts. Quick”

 

“Alright, Nexis.” She shouted, Nexis looked at her rather scared. “Hurry up or I’ll slit your throat.” Then she started running down the entrance while Nexis stood there scared before following her.

 

“Alright Roxas, ready?” Asked Zeaxeon smiling

 

“Hell ya.”

 

------

 

“Here we are.”

 

“Wow.” Nexis was inside a cave, a huge cave which yet seemed so grand that he had a hard time believing he is in a cave.

 

“This, is the general section.”

 

Looking up, Nexis saw a man on a throne high up with long hair, black in black clothes.

“Wolf right?” asked Nexis pointing at him

 

“Yes. Hurry up”

 

Soon he was in front of the Alpha Wolf. He seemed more powerful up close which seemed natural for a man who rules the place and seems like a close person to Altair.

 

“I come her wolf, because Altair sent me.”

 

“What?” asked Larxene, completely shocked.

 

“If you really were sent by him then you may go ahead and pick up the sword hanging up there.” Said wolf, still on his throne though his face is much clearer now. His blue eyes and rather fair skin are more visible. “If you weren’t you’ll suffer a horrible death” He added quickly.

 

“Huh. I have the ring if that’s what you are asking.”

 

With that Nexis approaches the wall besides Wolf and took the sword.

 

“Now Nexis will you help us fight the moderators?”

 

“Why not? a great chance to test the sword if you ask me.

 

“Come on then fool.” Said Larxene as she started running to the entrance of the cave.

 

“What the hell is with her?” Asked Nexis as she went far away

 

Wolf’s only respond was a shrug which was acknowledged by a nod from Nexis who followed her helplessly.

“What took you long Larx” Said Roxas as he was engaging two warriors in a fight before Larxene tied a man from the back who was then kicked unconscious. The other man was cut in half by just a single slash from Nexis’s sword.

 

“Cool, but I guess I’ll stick to my twin blades.” And with that he hid the sword and took out his twin blades. “Much better. Where is Zeaxeon by the way?”

 

Roxas pointed up to a pile of trash on which Zeaxeon seemed to command the army while killing his fare share of people using his bow and arrow.

 

“Hey guys.” Shouted Zeaxeon from up. “Help us out in the left side; hold them out until support arrives.”

 

“Alright God. Anymore orders?” Replied Nexis sarcastically as the trio proceeded.

 

What does Altair want from the sword? Why did the moderators attack the General Section all of a sudden? How does the Wolf guy know Altair?

 

More questions answered in the next chapters.
