I laugh at Iron Maiden.

I'm talking about bands like: Oceano' date=' Disfiguring The Goddess, and All Shall Perish.

You laugh at Maiden? I laugh at you. Maiden was one of the basis of all types of metal. I'm with you on this one Spartan.

I listen to very little death metal.

I prefer some sort of melody and meaningful lyrics.

I mainly listen to all sorts of metal with the exception of Death and Nu.

I'm not to sure really if i do actually listen to death metal.

Does

BFMV

&

all that remains

count?

I doubt they do, though probably just barely if anything.

Incorrect.

Bullet For My Valentine and All That Remains are Metal. Strictly Metal.

Metalcore is the band Bring Me The Horizon.

Carcass' date=' Morbid Angel, Arch Enemy, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Kalmah, Dark Lunacy, Belphegor, Behemoth, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, At the Gates.

I mostly listen to Melodic and Symphonic Death Metal so the answer is yes.:)

God. Whenever I ask this question and people post the bands they know, I only know like 3 of them.

How the heck do you find them all?:P

Nah, Deathcore is only close in vocals.

Deathcore is way different from death metal. Deathcore vocals are different from death metal vocals. Deathcore makes use of breakdowns much more than death metal.

There's a difference.

Therefore, deathcore is not death metal.

Therefore, don't include Oceano in a list of death metal bands.

Morbid Angel were the first Death Metal band I started listening to.

I've been a fan of EToS without knowing that they were Melodic/Symphonic Death Metal.

Somehow I also got into the Gothenburg (Melodic Death Metal) sound and liked it immediately. I started listening to At the Gates and then got into In Flames, Dark Tranquility and Arch Enemy.

Alright let's drop Belphegor.

I thought Carcass had some elements of Death Metal, especially at the beginning.

In Flames, At the Gates and Dark Tranquility were part of the main pioneers of the Gothenburg sound which I consider a type of Death Metal.

But if you say so master.D=

Gotheburg metal is another name for Melodioc Death Metal.
