Fortune Ladies [discuss archetype]

Okay:

Fortune Lady Lighty -

Each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 200. When this card is removed from the field by a Card Effect, you can Special Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" from your Deck.

Fortune Lady Firery -

Increase this card's Level by 1 during your Standby Phase (Max. 12). This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its level x200. When this card is Special Summoned in Attack Position by the effect of a "Fortune Lady", destroy 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's ATK.

Fortune Lady Windy -

This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 300. During your Standby Phase, this card's Level is increased by 1. (max. Level 12). When this card is Normal Summoned, destroy a number of Spell and Trap Cards equal to the total number of "Fortune Lady" monsters you control.

Fortune Lady Watery -

This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 300. During your Standby Phase, this card's Level is increased by 1. (max. Level 12). If you control a "Fortune Lady" monster other than "Fortune Lady Watery" when this card is Special Summoned to your side of the field, draw 2 cards.

Fortune Lady Darky -

Increase this card's Level by 1 during your Standby Phase (max. 12). This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 400. While you control this face-up card, when a face-up "Fortune Lady" monster you control destroys a monster of your opponent's by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can select 1 "Fortune Lady" monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it.

Fortune Lady Earthy -

Increase this card's Level by 1 during each of your Standby Phase (max. 12). This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x400. Each time the level of a "Fortune Lady" monster you control increases, inflict 400 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points.

Fortune Inherit -

Activate during a turn when a "Fortune Lady" monster you control was destroyed. During your next Main Phase' date=' you can Special Summon up to 2 "Fortune Lady" monsters from your hand.

Twist of Fate -

Activate only when all face-up monsters you control are "Fortune Lady" monsters. Negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card or the Normal Summon of your opponent's monster, and return that card to your opponent's hand. That card cannot be used during this turn.

Woo hoo! 200ATK card that's only purpose is to ss a fortune lady...yet with the field spell and other odd methods it can become strangely effective...still wastes a normal summon though...yet if you go the field spell route then that doesn't matter...

Meh only monsters and it has to be special summoned AND it has 600ATK!!!...maybe if...no just no...

Pretty nice...sure it again has only 900ATK yet it has a pretty good spell/trap destruction effect...

Now this is probably one of the best out of the group...at least to me...it's a draw(if ss it by other means besides lighty) and it has relatively decent atk...woo 1200!!!

This thing is going to get you back maybe one fortune lady...yay...still relatively impressive for the archtype...one of two main beaters...infact maybe the only cards(besides watery) that you'll even atk with...good thing your only going to special summon it right? Right???

Yay a card whose only purpose is to punch things and delevier random burn damage so that the anime can make a weird close finish...still a 2400 beatstick...

 

 

All in all it's not bad...but it is in no way good...at best it's like medium level casual play archtype with the medium turned towards terriable...

The FL are good, if used correctly.

FV + FL-L = Free 2 card draw, a reviver, 400 damage to your opponent each turn, destroy a monster and inflict possibly high damage.

 

You can easily get a draw engine out of Fortune Ladies Watery & Darky by drawing 3 cards per turn which is your Draw Phase plus the effect.

 

The only fortune lady with a CIPE that isn't SS is Windy who acts as a one sided Heavy Storm at best.

 

Fiery + Darky gives you the benefit of destroying their stronger stuff with Fierys effect and Darky revives the other, plus if its a wicked god dreadroot for instance that's 4000 damage. Protect yourself for a single turn against the BEUD + Megamorph + Cyberstien combo and thats 9000 damage to your opponent. Also if the meta has a lot of swarm decks being able to get rid of those very monster and damage the opponent is pretty sweet. Special summoning her the first time is a +3 bonus (Free Creature, Destroys a Creature, Inflicts Damage WICIP).

 

Lighty isn't supposed be strong as a beater, you remove her from the field and she acts a searcher which is a +, considering your fetching possibly a beater and thinning your deck.

 

If you want to throw in some heavy damage, add some other beaters like Eatos or Cydra.

 

Earthy + Lighty means you just fetched for a beater on your first turn that causes an extra 400 damage. Whats that? 400 damage is bad? Not really considering its attached to a card that can in say 2 turns become a 3200 ATK monster.

 

Whats that? Their Fragile? Add some traps to protect them with then.

 

Personally I have been play testing with these ladies and their pretty harsh if you know how to correctly use them.

 

Also they can be tournament strong depending on what support they get. If you remove the S/T from any archetype the same can be said about them because they could "Possibly be good".

Hmmm, all the Fortune Lady cards are spellcasters, which obviously means they get the support like Magical Dimension, but they won't get Magician's circle because they have ? ATK and that doesn't count, at least I don't think it does. Still, Firey and Lighty get to 2400, windy and watery get to 3600 and darky and earthy get 4800 at max level, which isn't too bad. I also find it funny that Earthy still has the glasses

Anyway, don't forget Magicians Unite (?) too. Are there any cards that increase level? I know there are a lot that lower it, but really?
