Phantom Roxas
Oh GOD I hate this class the most. I'm in an "advanced" class because my sadistic mom and bi teacher wanted me to be challenged more. Instead I practically jumped two classes higher, and it's freaking annoying. I absolutely hate the homework in this class, and doing commentary on boring stories (The Tempest was good though) all the time is painfully annoying. I'm not even going to bother taking even more advanced class next year, since I hear it completely robs you of your personal life, and for someone like me....that's unbearable. So yeah, discuss English class and how annoying it is. And don't "cool story bra" this.
Guest JoshIcy
Not irritating for me.Was practically second nature. And still is... But if it helps at all. Challenge the teachers lesson.Worked for me.
ragnarok1945
It is for me, I personally dislike analyzing articles and short stories, this is why when I reached the uni level I tried to keep that to a minimum since for my path this is not necessaryAnd Icy, challenging the teachers doesn't work from where I am, they just beat you back down in that "you questioned the teacher's motives, the teacher is always right, the student is always wrong"

Analyzing is utterly pointless.

ragnarok1945
Yeah well for us we had to analyze such stories: what the author was trying to explain, his/her tone, his/her main claim, his/her subclaims, his/her methods of persuasion if applicable, etc.
「tea.leaf」
English is irritating only because it is full of the type of people that is most of bullshit. Of course, at the same time, it is ridiculously entertaining to watch them fail in every way possible on a daily basis.
ragnarok1945
not the teacher's pets. Though I admit that tends to be rare as most people just want to get the course over with ASAP and never deal with it ever again
Saturn of Elemia
I LOVED English class - in high school and college. The stories were good and I enjoyed writing the essays. The best part, though, was when I got to write my own epic in high school - TEN PAGE STORY! English class brought out the creative side. =3 Long story short: LOVE English and wouldn't mind doing it all over again.

Challenge the teachers lesson.Worked for me. Elaborate. Exactly as it sounds. Walk right up to the teacher during class or after class. And explain to him what you see wrong with the lesson. Say it nicely though, or you'll come off as a well... Twat. If the lesson is inadequate enough in your eyes, take it to your counselor and work your way up. I just duke it out in class; diction is crucial, especially when crippling the teacher with only one phrase.

Here, they have more power than Teachers. So they can tell a teacher what to do. And I do that as well. But for Roxas, that might not be so easy. ragnarok1945
Here teachers seem to have all the power (and there's too many power abusers) I personally felt their real goal was to fail students, not actually make them learn anything.
Kotaro
I hated English as well, it was boring especially when the teachers were boring. Guest Fake Apology
Not irritating for me. this. in fact, i love english classes and i also love being in an 'advanced' class. but, i hate significant exams like the 'michigan' of lower, 'michigan' of proficiency and so on. though it seems to be more easy at some parts than 'cambridge'.... Umbra
Right now, I don't really mind my English classes - mainly because we don't have any. :D Thanks to the national tests, we have exactly one actual English class besides from the test - which is 15-20 min, tops - and the rest of the time, class is dismissed. By the same events, we won't have ANY class this Wednesday, at all.

EliminateHRN
I tend to be very much like my dad, so hating English is also something I hate (I just suck at it). But, if I ever become a Author, I really going to need to have English. The only part I do like about English is writing stories/poems. But I used to love English when I first went to school, but now it's just getting boring (same thing with Math).
