CinnamonStar
Ah good ol' times... This was when in the early 90's 3 bands started the Death/Doom Metal genre, all from the north of England (although right now only 1 of them is sticking with it). So My Dying Bride vs Anathema vs Paradise Lost anyone? If you don't know them I'd suggest to lock them up on Youtube or somewhere but it will be a bit hard to judge a band on a few songs, especially since they skipped between the genres lately. Death Metal
I'd go with paradise lost but they are all depressing as hell to listen to, so at least they all have that. =P
CinnamonStar
OMG teh master posted in this thread, I'm happeh!=D Paradise Lost are great if you're up for some harder Metal stuff like on Draconian Times (my favourite album by them <3). They're probably the least depressing ones, except if you listen to In Requiem, their last album. My Dying Bride have the best lyrics (IMO) and are the only ones who really kept their style throughout the years. I voted for Anathema because I think they made the most interesting changes. They went through the Darren White / Death/Doom roots period to Atmospheric Rock but it didn't bother me. I really like their entire discography and Vincent Cavanagh is doing a great job in their current style.
