First Fan Fic --- Duelist Chronicles

This is my first attempt at a FanFic for anything. I will post new chapters irregularly but as often as possible. I will pretty much always use cards that are already made, but sometimes characters will use cards I've made myself...Enjoy.

 

[spoiler=Chapter1] Boy: "Can nobody defeat me? You call yourselves Duelists? You people are pathetic. You don't deserve to keep your decks!" shouted a boy of about 18 years of age. A crowd of people had gathered around him, watching another boy walk from the centre of the ring back into the crowd and beyond.

 

???: "My mate Kevin sure could!" the voice had an Australian accent. He was taller than the challenger. He wore jeans, a black t-shirt and an orange leather coat. His shoulder length black hair was parted in the middle.

 

Boy: "And where is he?" the challenger looked slightly curious.

 

Kevin: "Right here," he was slightly short for 16. He had spiked brown hair and he wore a grey hooded jacket with the hood down, a white t-shirt that could be seen hanging under his jacket and a pair of jeans, "I challenge you to a duel. I win, you give those decks back. I lose, you get my deck and two others from these people for free" the crowd started to protest and some even walked away.

 

Boy: "Bold! Very bold! You better hope these people are forgiving because when you lose, you'll have some new enemies."

 

Kevin: "Let's do this!"

 

Boy: "As you are the challenger, I will go first. I draw and I summon Baron of the Fiend Sword (ATK 1550/Def 800) and I lay one card facedown."

 

Kevin: "I set one monster and and set one card and end my turn."

 

Boy: I draw and I summon The Bistro Butcher (ATK 1800/DEF 1000) My Bistro Butcher attacks your facedown (Mystical Elf-DEF 2000)

 

Boy: (7800 LP) "I end my tu-"

 

Kevin: "I activate my facedown Dust Tornado and destory your set card (Mirror Force) I then set one card. I now draw. I tribute my Mystical Elf and summon Dark Magician Girl (ATK 2000/DEF 1700). I then activate my face down Sage's Stone, and special summon my Dark Magician!" (ATK 2500/DEF 2100) I attack your Bistro Butcher with my Dark Magician (Boy: 7100 LP) and attack your Baron with my Dark Magician Girl (Boy: 6650 LP) and I end my turn"

 

Boy: "I draw and activate Just Desserts, you lose 1000 Life Points (Kevin 7000 LP), I then discard one card to activate Reigeki Break and destroy your Dark Magician. I then summon Man-Eating Treasure Chest (ATK 1600/DEF 1000) and place one card face down and end my turn."

 

Kevin: "I draw and summon Neo the Magic Swordsman (ATK 1700/DEF 1000) Also, my Dark Magician Girl gains 300 attack because I have one Dark Magician in my Graveyeard (ATK 2300), I attack with Neo only."

 

Boy: "I activate my Trap Negate Attack, ending your Battle Phase. I draw and I tribute my Man-Eating Treasure Chest to summon King of Yamimakai (ATK 2000/DEF 1530), I put one card face down and attack your Neo and end my turn."

 

Kevin: (6700 LP) "I draw and equip my Dark Magician Girl with Book of Secret Arts (ATK 2600), I summon Gemini Elf (ATK 1900/DEF 900), I then activate Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy your face down (Michizure), I attack your King of Yamimakai with Dark Magician Girl (Boy 6500 LP), I then attack you directly with my other monsters."

 

Boy: (2900 LP) "I draw and set a monster and end my turn."

 

Kevin: "I draw and summon another Neo the Magic Swordsman (ATK 1700/DEF 1000) and I equip him with Book of Secret Arts (ATK 2000), I get that Neo to attack your facedown (Whiptail Crow DEF 1600) and I get the rest of my monsters to attack you directly. Its over!" (Boy 0 LP)

 

The crowd cheered and the boy threw his Duel Disk at the ground. He went to make an escape but the crowd tightened the circle.

 

Kevin: "You have lost. Now you must return those decks to their duellists."

 

Boy: "But they don't deserve their decks!"

 

Kevin: "And you lost to me, what makes you think you deserve yours? Take your deck and go, don't let me see you again otherwise you won't keep your deck."

 

The boy picked up his Duel Disk, took out a tin and left it on the ground and ran off, the crowd converged around the tin to get their decks. The Australian accented boy went over to Kevin and gave him a hi5.

 

???: "Way to show that loser, but the stakes were high, how were you certain that you would win?"

 

Kevin: "Well Harold, I learnt from my father to always believe in your deck. Treat it with respect and believe in the heart of the cards and it will treat you with respect back. That boy had no real connection with his cards."

 

Harold: "You really do believe in this heart of the cards stuff don't ya?" Kevin nodded.

the chapters vary in length i know and i apologise for that, just depends what i feel when a subject is finished and a new one begins.

[spoiler=Chapter2] Kevin and Harold went to their favourite Milk Bar for the afternoon. There was a duel on the t.v. and Harold recognised one of the Duelists.

 

Harold: "Hey Kevin, that guy there is my brother. Man he is so good, I wish I could be like him and my sis. Man i suck!"

 

Kevin: "Don't think that Harold, you will improve. You just need confidence in yourself."

 

Harold: Mate, I've never seen Justin and Tracy lose. I lose 80% of the time if not more. I don't even know why I bother with duelling anymore, honestly."

 

The two ate their food in silence. Harold's brother had won the duel, just as he predicted. They went their seperate ways without Harold feeling any better.

 

As Kevin was walking home he saw a poster for Duel Academy.

 

"That's where Jaden Yuki and Chazz Princeton went, yet I can't go" Kevin continued home, thinking of the best way he could help Harold, he hated seeing him like that. Harold's home wouldn't make it any better for him either.

 

Kevin: "Hey mum."

 

Mrs Erak: "Hey sweety, how was your day?"

 

Kevin: "Ye it alright. Beat some jerk today who was taking people's decks." He went over and hugged his mother.

 

Mrs Erak: "I'm proud of you Kevin, always helping those who need it. Just like your father."

 

Kevin: "I miss him."

 

Mrs Erak: "So do I," and she gave him another squeeze and then she let him go, "There is dinner in the fridge if you want it later" Kevin nodded and went upstairs to his room.

 

He had a poster of a Dark Magician, a poster with Jaden Yuki above Duel Academy with some of his signature monsters. Then he had one of The King of Games, Yugi Moto himself, advertising a tournament from a couple of years ago.

 

Kevin sat on his bed and pulled out his deck. It was the deck his father had owned. The one he watched his father win many duels with. The deck he had always wanted to hold, and use, but not given to him the way it was.

 

Kevin laid back on his bed and remembered he was back at school the next day. He wondered if Harold was alright, his house being a rough place for him to be. He then thought of Christine and how pretty she was but then he shook his head and drifted to sleep.

 

Kevin woke up to discover he had slept through his alarm and that he was running late for school. He changed and put his deck and Duel Disk in his bag in a flash. He ran downstairs and his mother was in the dining room. He ran over and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

 

Kevin: "Bye mum" she handed him some toast and he grabbed it and shoved it all in his mouth at once.

 

Mrs Erak: "Love you Kevin, take care" Kevin did his best in replying to his mother, he leapt onto his bike and raced to school.

 

Harold: "Hey Kevin, how's it going?" he too was running late but that was something he did often.

 

Kevin: "Yeah alright, you?"

 

Harold: "Ok. Mum and dad were yelling at each other because dad was yelling at me and calling me a disgrace because I suck at duelling, saying I should quit, the usual."

 

Kevin: "Man that sucks, I know you will improve and you can prove your dad wrong" Harold snorted at the thought.

 

???: "Hey guys!" the voice belonged to a female.

 

Harold: "Hey Christine." Kevin felt his heart start to beat faster and he didn't reply. Christine walked up next to him and bumped him with her shoulder.

 

Christine: "Good thing we're all late together so Miss Croucher can't single one of us out huh?" Kevin kept looking straight ahead, he went to talk but his throat was dry so he just nodded.

 

Christine went up ahead of him and Kevin took in her beauty. Her skirt was a little short and her uniform clung to her figure. She had dark blonde hair that went halfway down her back. As he was thinking about her looks he stubbed his toe on a step and almost fell forward.

 

Shrill Voice: "Detention all three of you! The three of you are an hour late!" Miss Croucher's voice made the three of them cringe.

 

All three: "Damn" they whispered.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter3] The school that Christine, Harold and Kevin went to was just like your average school except that Dueling was taught as well. It wasn't originally intended to be a Dueling School, but after Jaden Yuki had finished with Duel Academy, there was a demand for more Dueling schools, so people just added it in to normal schools.

 

Miss Croucher was the class' academic teacher and nobody really liked her. The Duel teacher was Mr Russell. He used a Pyro deck. The class loved him as he was laid back but stern. Rumour around the school was that he was once a very famous Duelist under the name Lee Scott.

 

It was towards the end of the day and Mr Russell was talking about something Kevin wasn't paying attention to. He found himself looking around the room continuously so he could see Christine. Their eyes met after his seventh passing.

 

Mr Russell: "The answer please Kevin."

 

Kevin: "Err, the monster card. You know?"

 

Mr Russell: "No, quite frankly I do not Mr Erak, please explain" everyone in the class was looking at Kevin now, Christine included. Kevin could feel his ears burning.

 

Kevin: "Umm, Treeborn Frog?" the class burst with laughter and Kevin sunk in his chair.

 

Mr Russell: "First of all it was about a magic card, Array of Revealing Light. Maybe you should pay more attention to me and not to other people." Kevin nodded and he could have sworn he saw Christine wink at him.

 

The bell rang and the three of them stayed in their seats to wait for Miss Croucher. Mr Russell finished packing his things and looked up to see them.

 

Mr Russell: "Detention?"

 

"Yep" four voices replied, Miss Croucher had entered the room. Mr Russell mouthed 'Damn, that sucks' before he left.

 

Miss Croucher: "So you three were extremely late, and you sir," sje looked past them, "are not doing you academic work" the three of them turned to see Spence, the least popular in the class. He had a large mohawk and multiple ear piercings.

 

Miss Croucher: "Well I must get some things, behave!" and she left the room.

 

Spence: "Hey Smith, I hear you can't beat a five year old!" Harold ignored him.

 

Spence: "I hear your dad doesn't even want you!" That had done it. Harold stood up, knocking his chair over.

 

Harold: "I could kick your butt in a duel over and over" Spence and Harold both put their Duel Disks on.

 

Both: "Let's Duel!"

 

Spence: "You're going down Smith. I draw and I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior (ATK 1700/DEF 1600) and I place one card face down and end my turn."

 

Harold: "Alright, I draw and I summon Flying Elephant (ATK 1850/DEF 1600) and then I put a card face down. I attack with my Flying Elephant"

 

Spence: I activate Sakuretsu Armour, buh-bye"

 

Harold: "I end"

 

Spence: "I draw and I summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior (ATK 1400/DEF 1700), I play Wasteland, increasing their attack and defence by 200 (B: ATK 1900/DEF 1800, A: ATK 1600/DEF 1900), I attack with them.

 

Harold: "I activate my Trap Card, Negate Attack, ending your Battle Phase."

 

Spence: "So you wanna go slowly and humiliate yourself. Save me the effort, I end my turn."

 

Harold: "Shut up!"

 

Kevin: "Harold, calm down and concentrate. You're letting your anger get to you, I know you can win this!"

 

Harold: "Yeah, yeah. I drawn and summon Harpie's Brother (ATK 1800/DEF 600) and I equip him with Gust Fan, increasing his attack by 400 and decreasing his defence by 200 (ATK 2200/DEF 400), I get him to attack your Alpha (Spence 7400 LP), I end my turn."

 

Spence: "I draw and I summon Gamma the Magnet Warrior (ATK 1500/DEF 1800) and he is increased by 200 (ATK 1700/DEF 2000), I then play Nightmare's Steelcage, no monster can attack for 2 of your turns."

 

Harold: "I draw and I equip Harpie's Brother with another Gust Fan (ATK 2600/DEF 200) and then I activate Hinotama, inflicting 500 damage to your Life Points (Spence 6900 LP) and end my turn."

(NSC 1)

 

Spence: "I draw and I summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior, increasing him by 200 (ATK 1600/DEF 1900) I then place one card face down"

 

Harold: "Well, isn't that convenient for you? I draw and I set one monster and I play Mountain, destroying your Wasteland, your monsters losing their bonus (A: ATK 1400/DEF 1700, B: ATK 1700/DEF 1600, G: ATK 1500/DEF 1700) and my Harpie's Brother gains 200 attack and defence (ATK 2800/DEF 400), I then place a face down and end my turn."

(NSC 2, destroyed)

 

Spence: "I draw and now you're gone. Your suped up fairy won't save you now! I tribute my Magnet Warriors to summon Valkyrion the Magna Warrior (ATK 3500/DEF 3850) and attack your Harpie's Brother!"

 

Harold: "I activate Negate Attack"

 

Spence: "Again?! Well you're gone next turn."

 

Harold: "I draw and I summon Hunter Owl (ATK 1000/DEF 900) and then raised 200 by Mountain (ATK 1200/DEF 1100) and because I control one wind monster he gains 500 attack (ATK 1700) and then I activate Rising Air Current raising both my montser's attackby 500 and decreasing their defence by 400 (ATK 3200/DEF 0, ATK 2100/DEF 500) respectively."

 

Spence: "That won't work, my Magna is still stronger"

 

Harold: "I'm not done yet. I flip my face down, Ashinigray. Triggering its effect, I can destroy one monster on your side of the field, I destroy your Magna, also giving my another controlled wind monster Hunter Owl gains another 500 attack (ATK 2600/DEF 500), I attack with all three (Spence 300 LP)

 

Spence: "I draw and I set one monster"

 

Harold: "I draw, Harpie's Brother attack your facedown (Giant Soldier of Stone DEF 2000) then I attack you directly (Spence 0 LP), Booyeah!"

 

"You two, detention for the rest of the week!" Miss Croucher had returned and she was not impressed.

yo thanks, ye have it that way coz i was just trying to get something up fast, when i got a lot more time on my hands, im gonna re-edit those things and put up more chapters that aren't like that.
