I don't really care actually. I have all 493 on my pearl version. I'll probably go with HG because of the ability to catch Growlithe. Can I find a fire stone before I beat the E4?

You get to see which move they know, which could often result in you knowing it's whole moveset and item and nature and how it's EVed. If you knew anything about competetive battling, you'll know that that will give you a big edge.

It'd be nice if Ghost pokemon like Gengar was invulnerable to explosion when it used that move. I would laugh my A$$ off using that move until it ran out of powerpoints.

 

Anyway if anyone needs codes made by the pro hacker then post here or PM me and BTM would you mind being in a pokemon hacking club with me on here. I provided a sprite editor a page or two back. It edits who you play as in the game. I've also got an EV/IV checker for you competitive players to use

Agreed. Until you play competetively, you will never find a use for Protect. Me, Flame Dragon, and BehindTheMask gave you over a dozen examples of why it's good.

Beat the E4 and on my way to battle Sabrina. Lance was painful I had to Max Revive my Froslass after it got killed with FireBlast from a Dragonite. Gyarados was problematic and half my team was suicide fodder....I sent out my near dead Ty (I can't remember why it was near dead) just to revive Froslass and it did kill a Dragonite.

 

Protect makes me cringe when I think about it. In XD, the Explosion/Protect, Earthquake/Protect combos. I can see why it is useful in Competitive battling. (Even with the Computer/In Game examples)

But peoples don't use the Protect/Explosion or Protect/Earthquake combos in competetive battling because most matches are single fights.
