I agree with Aximil on the statement that Heart Scales are generally hard to get (unless you don't have a DSi and you do have RSE), but you really won't be using too many of them. If you don't evolve your Pokemon (in the example below), and evolve it after it gets Nasty Plot, Heart Scale would be a rare one instance where you'd need it.

Standard battles are 6v6. And I assume you know the OU list, since that's what I play by. No Ubers. But I'm very iffy to play with you since you said you use an Action Replay, meaning you could easily have hacked stats/ability/moves.

I just realized... as soon as you release the three dogs from the Burned Tower, their natures and IVs are set.

You could save, release them, hunt them down, catch them, and check their natures. THEN soft reset if you don't like it.

Problem is I already released them, and saved afterwards. So that can't be helped, unless I use an AR and use a nature modifer, but again, I am attempting to keep my SS clean.

 

I don't know if this also applies with Suicune, but if its nature is set at the time of release, attempting to catch it and soft reset if you don't like the nature is... stupid. You go through a bunch just to catch that Suicune, so I'm hoping that is nature is set when you battle it. For Entei and Raikou, however, I'm screwed. Not that I was going to use them for competitive battling anyways, so I guess it's still alright.

 

To be fair, they kinda did from GSC to RSE.

 

Well, obviously. They didn't add EVs and IVs until RSE, so it's kind of a given that they'd change. I was talking about between Gen III and Gen IV, so I guess I should have clarified.

Actually, 6 versus 6 is the standard method of battling people. That's been around since RBY, because you sure as hell can't use much strategy or logic with 3 versus 3. One luck hax and your entire team is screwed. If you can't battle 6 vs. 6, you cannot battle competitively, meaning Aximil has no interest in battling you. And lolbf. You can't even battle people by yourself?

 

I'd wait at least until the end of the game to use that cheat, when you're teaching your Pokemon new movesets for competitive battling.

On my Diamond, the cheat was only for all TMs. To prevent some glitchy stuff like that, they took out the HM part of it because when you get an HM, it is infinite.

 

But Diamond =/= SS, and I keep forgetting that. But the codes should at least be the same effect.
