Eury
Then check the Team Rawket thread. You'll understand when you get there. Edit: Never mind. Just PM me or something if there's anything in particular you might want.
Felix
I was actually watching a YouTube video' date=' and I am stealing this guy's team. TrickLatias, Iron Defense and Amnesia Registeel, Dragon Dance Salamence Use Trick on Latias to get the opponent stuck into one move that either Registeel or Salamence resists or is immune to. Come in, boost up, sweep.[/quote'] I dislike BF teams like that but they're the only ones that work in most cases. I had CurseTar and Scizor instead of Regi and DDmence. Who is actually having a serious go at the Battle Frontier? Most people can't even be bothered trying because they don't have the knowledge to win. Dark
Who is actually having a serious go at the Battle Frontier? Me. I'm using WonderTomb just to get the Trainer Card star for Battle Tower. Once I am actually finished with the game, I am making a team on Diamond and transferring it to SS. I am seriously taking on the Battle Frontier, because I never got a legit chance to in Emerald. Felix
I could have had a go at the Emerald one, but the large majority of Pokemon I'd want to use, I can't. I've just been doing the Factory over and over so I can get some variation.
Eury
Karen's Umbreon is an jabroni. So was her Weavile. But I blew Weavile up. :D Umbreon killed my Regice and Electivire. D: But Suicune got up in there and Surfed it to death. Also, I walled the hell out of Lance's Charizard. Calm Minded 6x with Suicune, Surfed it (it was also Stealth Rocked, so it doesn't really count :/) then swept the rest of his team with Ice Beam. I took out Salamence with Forretress. He managed to live through Flamethrower, so I just decided not use Toxic Spikes (seeing as 5 of his Pokemon are Flying types, it wouldn't have done much anyways) and use Explosion. Dark
Stealth Rock really doesn't help all too much in Battle Tower. Because people rarely switch, and when they do, it's just to soften what would have been a super-effective hit. So if you have any prediction at all, you can beat them. If I were you, the best non-strategic team for Battle Tower is one physical attacker, one special attacker and one mixed wall. Your Gyarados is awesome and stuff, but it somehow needs to get time to set up. Remember, it's three on three. If you get two DDances for Gyara, or two Nasty Plots for Porygon-Z, or something, it's GG. They won't carry three things with priority moves. If you can buy yourself two turns of set-up constantly, you can get 1000+ wins if you had the time. Draco Meteor Dragonite? I know the extra power is nice, but what happens when they send in a Metagross who isn't OHKOd by your Flamethrower because of your previous SpA drop? Clone it and try one with Dragon Pulse first, and if the lower power proves to be bad, change it.
Eury
What about Gyarados, Blissey and Porygon-Z? I don't remember what my Porygon-Z's nature is though.
Dark
Blissey isn't a mixed wall at all. Use Crocune. That's a Suicune with Rest, Sleep Talk, Calm Mind and Surf. Just make sure the damn people at Battle Tower don't run anything with Water Absorb. That would suck. Oh, and give it a lot of HP, PHYSICAL DEFENSE and Special Attack EVs. Eury
I can only give 2 EVs. I don't feel like wasting 3 hours getting perfect EVs. Shuckle? *shot*
Dark
Shuckle is more stalling than it is walling. I apologize for the horrid rhyme I made. It's really not that bad. You only need to EV train for two stats: HP and DEF. Just dump 128 into both and use your AR or something to give 252 for SpA. And EV training at least once is a good experience. Even when I had my AR and the EV codes, I EV trained an Electivire just for the experience in case I lost my AR.
Eury
I EV trained my Latios in SpA, then AR the Spe. It took about an hour. I calculated 84 Gengars were needed to get 252, so I used my Wild Mod code to kill Gengars over and over again. Ugh, 128 doesn't divide evenly into 3. D: That suuuuuucks. Legokun
@EuryalusIf your using a modifier code, why not just use AR to just get the EVs that way? Back on topic, i found a female combee, and since i want to use a bug-type, should i use it?I just trained Toxicgas (Gengar) to level 50, so i can start now. Felix
@Brickfist: You're team is terribly screwed up, espcially if you actually want to battle over WiFi. Consult http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/ Do not use Vespiquen or Raichu; they're awful.
Eury
Do not use Raichu Unless like, you max his Atk and Spe, give him a Light Ball and Volt Tackle everything to death. But even then, Swampert/anyotherGroundtypeincludingDiglett will get all up in his ass. Anyways, Serebii says that some chick on Pokemon Sunday might have let it slip that Zekrom is Dragon/Electric. It's not confirmed though.

All the Kimono Girls have their Eevee stuff at Lv38. The lowest level in the E4 is 40. If you want to beat them, you have A LOT of work to do. I recommend getting Gyarados and Pidgeot to Lv45+ and getting Flaaffy, Espeon and Dratini to Lv40+.

The only thing you'll be remotely worried about is Misty in Kanto, but you can use a legend if you so desire. Just make sure your Ty has 4 extremely powerful, broad-ranged moves. I'd recommend something like EQ, Flamethrower/Eruption, that sort of stuff. Because if you are doing single-starter, moveset is key. Your other Pokemon can be death fodder for the E4.
