(after a bit of ridiculously slow walking, Yugi finally got AJ to the infermary) Yugi: excuse me... (Fontaine turned around to see AJ unconious)

 

Fontane: (sighs) not him too (points to Crystal who is still in her coma) to think these two where getting married, and now this entire mess has begun, i can't believe this is happeneing (points to the nearest bed) lay him there for now (Yugi lays AJ down on the bed)

 

Yugi: so what happened to Crystal?

 

Fontane: not sure, her friends Chris and Peter brouhgt her in unconsious as well

 

Yugi: her as well? (Yami appears)

 

Yami: do you think this was Nightshroud's doing as well

 

Yugi: no, we were dueling Nightshroud before this happened, something else must have done this, the only question is what?

AJ: (in a dream, sitting alone in the dark) doesn't this seem familiar? all alone.....again......(looks at his cards to see that they are all blank) not even the crystal beasts can keep me company (sighs) guess i really have no one.........family......friends................Crystal.......

--excuse me super but i do have a life outside of card maker, i can't always be on, i am a college student after all

 

(after a few hours AJ wakes up, he tries to sit up but immedietly lays back down) AJ: ngh! god my head is killing me! (puts a hand to his head and clutches it) what happened? i remember watch Sean and Crystal dueling and.........(suddenly he noitces his fiance in the bed next to him) CRYSTAL!!! (gets up to get next to her but falls out of the bed due to his head hurting, Fontane comes out)

 

Fontane: for goodness sake AJ relax, you're still not 100%

 

AJ: i don't care, what about Crystal? is she alright?!

 

Fontane: i'm not sure, i mean she's fine physically, but she's been out for a while now, i'm not entirely sure what's wrong with her, but she's normal otherwise

 

AJ: (slowly gets up and holds on to the bed rail for support) why did this have to happen? why now?!

[Naimo]

Chris eventually went up to the infirmy to see how Crystal, his life depender, was doing. When he entered, he noticed AJ awake. He took a seat by Crystal's bed but had his back to her, instead facing AJ. "Hello AJ."

AJ: (looking up at Chris) what happened to her? how'd she end up like this?

[Naimo]

Chris gritted his teeth. "Zaroc," he spat. "It was all Zaroc's fault - he won a duel against Michael which means that now he's changed into this gigantic dragon, and has taken a part of Crystal's soul with him which is why she lies in this coma. I've just duelled and Buster and I've seriously injured him, so we won't be seeing him for a while."

[~Kefka~]

AJ: so to wake her up we have to defeat this Zaroc dragon you've just mentioned?

[Naimo]

Chris nodded. "The only issue is he's healing, Relinquished has told us he's healing somewhere far away from here in isolation, he's got 6 more lives before he's killed, who knows how long he's going to take to heal? Not to mention - we need to find him fast, for as long as Crystal remains in this coma, I fade and fade and fade until I'm as good as a ghost. Can't die though - I can only die when she dies."

[~Kefka~]

AJ: (struggles to his feet with great difficulty and stands upright, he then goes to the bed side table and grabs his duel disk) neither of you are going to die, but Zaroc is! (AJ begins to stagger towards the door) i'll find him, and he'll be dead when i do

[Naimo]

"AJ!" Chris got up faster than AJ had and ran, blocking his way. "Don't be stupid, you could sail around the world three times and still not find him. Not to mention he needs to beaten 6 more times! Even if you beat him twice, and I beat him a second time, who's going to finish off the three more times he has left?"

[~Kefka~]

AJ: (grabs Chris by the collar of his shirt) YOU JUST DON'T GET IT DO YOU?! (tears begin to fall from his eyes) THAT GIRL IS MY FIANCE AND MY LIFE AT THAT!!! SHE'S THE REASON I GET UP IN THE MORNING AND SHE'S EVERYTHING TO ME!!! i've lost my mother, and now she's after me, my father.......i don't even know who he is anymore, and what's worse is my own brother knew about this from the start! but even after all this, even after the happiest day of my life was destroyed i'm still fighting, and she's the reason i am! so you can say i'm too hurt, you can say i won't have a chance or that i'll never find him, but i can care less! IF FINDING THIS JERK IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET HER BACK THEN I'LL GLADLY DIE FOR IT!!!

[Naimo]

"I UNDERSTAND YOU!" yelled Chris in return. It was hard to keep his hands away from the Buster Blader sword. "I KNOW YOU FEEL PAIN! How do you think I feel, knowing that my own life is fading with hers? I don't have long left before the effect starts! But the issue is, you CANT go storming round the world when we DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THAT B*STARD OF A DRAGON IS! And even if we leave, what if he's back to normal and returns to Ultima when we're gone? WE CAN'T LET ZAROC WIN ANOTHER DUEL! Who knows what chaos is going to happen if he does? Do you know how many Slifers there are here? If we're gone, Zaroc's going to target the slackers and gain easy wins! This school NEEDS their elite duellists to help stop it - and the world - from being trashed, and unfortunately YOU AND I FIT in that group!" He jabbed AJ in the chest repeatedly as he said the last sentence.

[~Kefka~]

AJ:........i feel like i've already lost....i'm losing my family.....my friends are in danger.....and now i'm slowly losing Crystal too...we....we have to stop this...we have to find him.........

[Naimo]

Chris withdrew his finger. "Yes, but I'm afraid time is agreeing with Zaroc rather than us. But you're not alone AJ - you've got me, Peter, Mickey, that S guy, that other S guy, maybe the one with the funny purple handwritting."

Ruby: plus you got me!!! so you need to stop mopping and figure out what to do

 

Azazel: he's right my lord, you must remember that in this fight, your friends and allies are your greast weapon (AJ smiles lightly)

 

AJ: yeah, you're right (looks up at Chris) but where do we go from here? if he heals he'll just come back stronger then before, looking for him would be the best thing, we'd be able to take him down while he's weak

[Naimo]

Chris sighed. "Why is it everyone here has eyes, mouths, noses, hair, fingers, toes, parts not to be seen in daylight but not ears and about 50% brains? Weren't you listening? He could be anywhere in the world, and he's in isolation, and if you think about it presuming he's in a cave there's over hundreds of thousands of them altogether. By the time we've finished searching we'll be pensioners."
